Performance is much better than its sequel
Even with playing around with graphics at all the different levels, the textures look blurry and not natural
When the rats come, some slight stuttering. Can also see the rats themselves stuttering, but goes away
Some crashes and freezes
If graphics are extremely important to you, you might have to get this on a deep discount OR do some more tinkering. However, if you can withstand bugs and fuzzy graphics, this game is a must buy
Only very slightly
Slight stuttering when entering a new area, but no freezes or crashes
Text of items
Lots of stuttering, missing textures, etc.
Audio starts out fine, but if the system goes to sleep while the game is open, audio sometimes begins crackling at wake. Can only be fixed by quitting the program and relaunching, but I've noticed this problem on a couple other games too
I'm not too tech-savy, so I set the graphics to the default setting, and I was very impressed! Runs perfectly, though can overheat at 2+ hours
Slight texture flickering that goes away quickly
Not the Deck's fault, but the audio mixing/direction in the game is quite odd. The main character will yell while riding his bike (understandable), but the person sitting behind him talks in a normal voice. He is also prone to yelling while in dead silent stealth sections, but again, that's a fault of the game.
Had moments where places in the distance would "bug out" or "stutter," but quickly resolved itself
Few crashes and freezes
Main character got stuck on doorways a couple times
Days Gone was known to be a buggy mess at launch and performance-heavy. However, I've only encountered a few bugs, and the game runs very well for an open-world game. Few crashes and freezes, however, though the combat itself is smooth
Some text is difficult to read, but the game is very straightforward and you can figure it out without reading
Slight stuttering later in the game
Few freezes and crashes
Mission breaking bug in Chapter 11, had to reload a past save
Some of the text in the journal or books are hard to read
For some reason, during certain scenes, a white or black bar would appear at the bottom or top of the screen. It diseappers after continuing to a new scene, but everything is playable!
Freezes/stuttering every 30 minutes, though restarting helps
Some journal text
Some keybinding changes
Some performance issues on the cyberspace areas, but no combat there, so not that important
Small text for pretty much everything, MUST use the magnifer tool
Constant stuttering and crashing on the highest graphics settings. Must adjust graphics to low and medium, but no problems afterward
The size of the in-game books were fine, but the font for the UI in general is dense. Not too bothersome though
Crackling when going to sleep then waking up---can only be fixed for exiting the game then restarting, BUT this happens on a couple of other games as well
This game is notoriously buggy, even years after release, but I've only encountered a few where my character would get stuck on foliage. One mission-breaking bug where you're supposed to drop three bird traps or some odd item like that, but when dropping the item, they disapper completely, and the quest remains incomplete. Many users on Reddit also have this issue as well
Seems like protontricks is needed to install the 18+ patch
Lost about 15 hours due to the EA launcher
EA launcher is God's plague to humans. Had many issues: first, the game would get stuck on the "Preparing" scene. Also tried to launch through the forced launcher, but nothing happened. Had to reinstall again (took about 16 hours). Lost 15 hours of saves due to this issue. Buyer beware!
Some small menu text
Changed crouching buttons
Works perfectly once installed, but the controls are unusual (i.e. having to use the back buttons). Does not support one keybind for multiple options
All text is quite small
Couple freezes
For a game emphasizing reflexes and audio cues, performance must be flawless—and it is
Some small text
Installed Visual C++ 2022
Textures sometimes blur togetherm look fuzzy
LOTS of stuttering when running around the city, even on low graphics
Text and icons for everything is small but manageable
Mouse, Triggers, Touch Screen, and Trackpad only
For anyone playing on Mac, there's a gamebreaking bug where a neccessary conversation freezes in the tutorial. On the Deck, this was not a problem
Lots of text, all readable, even for someone with bad eyesight like I do. Completed the full game in about 32 hours, no issues at all
Game will get stuck on what I suppose is the title screen. However, everything is black, and although audio plays, I can't do anything
During the last 2 hours of the game, plenty of stuttering when pressing pause to look at the in-game menu
Some moments where audio was out of sync
Played only single player
Frequent stuttering/slight freezing when entering a new area, but always passes
Even with all settings set to the lowest, many stutters and freezes within first 5 minutes of gameplay
Many crashes, three within first five minutes of game
Visual C++ downloaded
Installed Visual C++
Runs perfectly
Game was stuck using the gamepad as mouse, and I was unable to switch it back to controller. However, I left the game alone for about two weeks, and it was fixed!
