Worked just as well as the windows version and had the same problem where gun sensitivity and menu sensitivty are very low.

Seems to be the exact same as Dead Island, so running the native build, I needed a launch command to fix the black screen, and then performance is worse and inputs are less responsive.
Using Proton Experimental, the game runs flawlessly and all prior problems are fixed.

Single player works beautifully on Ubuntu 24.04
There is a video recording to showcase and give an idea how it works here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0uirrVKn4WQ

Some text is difficult to read, but the game is very straightforward and you can figure it out without reading

Recommend to decrease resolution & FSR to increase battery life and less wattage usage. Located at /home/deck/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/compatdata/383180/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/Documents/DeadIslandRiptideDE/out/settings/video.scr. Gamescope frame caps causes instability. Forcing to proton, allows capping fps via launch options.
Select gamepad in the in-game options
Set TDP to 7, based on achieving 45fps 90Hz on OLED (45Hz on LED). Reduced resolution to 800x500 with FSR enabled - set to windowed mode. Performance mode in settings, VSync disabled. Use launch option above to set 45fps. Don't use quick access frame limiter.
Slightly small regardless of resolution
You can play this game out of the box without any tinkering but the battery will drain really quickly. Up to neartly 19/20 Watts. Tinkering outlined should hover around 11 watts or below.

There was a minor graphical glitch. The water will disappear and reappear some times when your in the motor boat. It doesnt break the game its just odd.

When I ran this game using a native, it always crash and showing steam stop respond. Then, I switch it to proton 4.2-9 and it working perfectly fine like windows running 60fps all the time.

Starts good (singleplay)
Use Steam Linux Runtime for sounds in game.
Played with Steam Linux Runtime (1.0).

Works perfectly (Proton)
Just like the first game I did not try the native Linux version, but using Proton everything ran perfectly. I was using the 'Vanilla Plus' mod, but the Riptide version got removed so I cannot link it here.

The temple ruin hub defense mission kept crashing to desktop. It was pure luck that on the 40th try I managed to progress further than the last wave of enemies.
The game works great, but as with the Dying Light games, avoid the native version and enforce the usage of Proton. This is an awesome sequel to the original, it runs just as smooth, but looks a lot better. The only issue I faced was the crashing to desktop every 2 minutes during the temple ruin hub defense mission, but once I lucked out and somehow progressed further, everything was problem free again. Strange, that none of the other hub defense missions were affected, though.

no audio for me
intro is working with sound. But the menu and ingame lacks audio

Loading screen tutorial text, though it's almost irrelevant since they're only on screen for a second or less.
Performance is just okay. Stable 60 FPS at "Quality" preset, but only about 2 hours of battery life.
Native version is borked so but Proton works out of the box
The native version is utterly broken and not even the Steam Linux Runtime makes it work properly. I recommend using Proton here. Runs fine with the Default one without any additional tweaks
Native crashes right away but on Proton it runs out of the box.

Translation layer issues; skipped frames, BUT it actually fixed a few native bugs, like not properly disabling motion blur when you toggle it in the menu.
Translation layer issues; performs and plays, but has issues maintaining full framerate with effects load and fullscreen.
Assuming that you want to run this game via Proton and not via the native Linux version, it could actually be playable with some additional performance tweaks. Controls register, save games load, and running it via Proton actually fixed a couple native bugs (most notably, disabling motion blur in the menu actually works now). The only negative is the performance currently. BE SURE TO ACTUALLY SET IT TO PROTON IN THE SETTINGS! Otherwise, by default, you will play the Linux version.
BONUS: DIRDE NATIVE REVIEW! Aside from a couple lengthy load times, this game runs just as well or better than the native Windows version. Functionally identical or superior, with certain bugs being fixed, all with seemingly full compatibility for Windows-based mods and tweaks.
I don't know what the guy's problem is down in the thread, but this is perfectly fine via the native Linux release and playable on Proton, maybe even better with common tweaks.
Run better with proton than using native support

Lies lies lies, it doesn't get past half of the loading screen
How are there people with the same OS that claim this runs? Any Proton, including GE, won't run this game, neither will it run natively.

Runs
This is for Dead Island Riptide [non-definitive edition]. To fix the audio, override the native support with proton. Use version 4.2-9 or 4.11-13.
