All the games that are platinum or gold here, are a cheap alloy at best for me. Will not work on my Linux Mint
crashes at start play
Applied workarounds mentioned by others here, like installing Protontricks and renaming Aof / dowser etc. Crashes as soon as I choose " Play".
Any Proton version, including experimental, says " running" nothing visible happens, then stops.
Rebooted first, I have the game on an external drive in extra Steam library, this works fine for other titles.
Works fine, but not my kind of game. Having it installed on an external drive must have been the cause of earlier malfunction.
is there a saving function?
Lies lies lies, it doesn't get past half of the loading screen
How are there people with the same OS that claim this runs? Any Proton, including GE, won't run this game, neither will it run natively.
Well, it was quite enjoyable before they messed it and never bothered to fix it apparently.
disconnects, game crashes, significant reduction in graphics quality, system freezes
Ridiculous amount of crashes, taking the fun out of it completely. They have borked it.
Not just game crashes, it frequently made my entire system freeze up.
Frustrating, I wish there was a way to finally make all these games work.
My love/ hate relationship with this game directly correlates to the amount of crashes and the effort devs put into fixing them.
Number of crashes has dropped significantly
Unexpected disconnects
Not using Proton any more for this one.
For this to occur, the game would first have to be forced to use Proton. This, contrary to reports on here, does not work. At all.
Not sure if this counts: starting up is so slow, it should be made a crime.
It takes ages to load, then it crashes after a few minutes. Used to play ok natively. Multiplayer is completely borked, Proton can't be forced.
Proton can't be forced. It just sits there, says it's running, then stops.
Maybe, but none of my Proton versions work, it does work natively, but according to reports here, one needs Proton to multiplay.
As earlier reported, multiplayer does not work and Mortal Empires crashes
Here is the crux of my new report: it is only 'Mortal Empires' that crashes, I can play 'The Eye of the Vortex' without these problems. However, multiplayer is still borked.
Multiplayer borked. Can't play with Windows friends, due to their unfortunate taste in OS. Forcing Proton does not work for me.
Summary: Forcing Proton doesn't work, therefore Multiplayer with Windows-users doesn't work, no idea if Linux players can play against each other. The game takes old-fashioned ages to load, like 1990's old-fashioned. The bits you can play are awesome.
Too many problems, summing up: black screen, no matter what launcher, fix, or cache delete...
First they came for my Steam launch, then launcher in steamapps folder, now aces doesn't work anymore either.
It is utterly borked for me.
pricing is extortionate...ridiculous...paypal link doesn't work on their website, Idk with this company, I really don't
I'm getting really tired of these false Proton db reports.
Either they are false or I am extremely unlucky. As it is, I keep buying games based on their Proton DB rating and they NEVER work.
