Great pirate type game with some small RPG strategy here and there
It is one of those games you enjoy privately. Like Pirates 3, but in a map-chess like way. The video and performance can be found here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dKexyql5eW0

Works perfectly in Ubuntu 24.04 for Solo, Local or Multi
The only issue is the way Cuphead "invites" steam friends to play. There are other friendlier ways of doing it. Apart from that the game works perfectly. I also tested local multiplayer.

Do note that pathtracing and frame generation are not working properly yet. DLSS 3.x needs to work on Linux for this to properly work and / or be enabled. Apart from that, everything on version 2.0 and down works perfectly. A video showcasing it is here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Nc5Woe1ETY

A Beautiful game, works perfect on ultra settings at 4K
This is a game that is meant to be played alone since it is a movie like game. Just beautiful. On the video I made at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e7SRZCyEGkU I played quickly but this is one of those games you need to enjoy in a personal manner. In any case the game works perfectly on 4K with everything maxed out.

The only issue was when building shaders. The game would freeze for a couple of seconds. Afterwards it would resume.
PROTON_ENABLE_NVAPI=1 VKD3D_CONFIG=dxr11 mangohud gamemoderun %command%
Would freeze every once in a while during the Building Shader stages. Only happens once per area. The freeze could last a second to 5 seconds.
To enable Ray Tracing, set the graphics to LOW. Then change the VKD3D_CONFIG=dxr parameter to VKD3D_CONFIG=dxr11 and start the game again. Now set the graphics settings to Auto. Do not try to manually enable RT, but let the game set it up for you by selecting the Graphics Auto mode. When exiting the game, make sure RT is not enable with the VKD3D_CONFIG=dxr11option or else the game will not start. What you do is either put the game on low before exiting, or change VKD3D_CONFIG=dxr11 to VKD3D_CONFIG=dxr back and redo the whole steps to enable RT. I did not experience any jump or degradation in performance with or without RT.
Works well on Ubuntu 24.04 but note that the suttering is still there because game is not optimized
There is a video recording to showcase and give an idea how it works here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PM-uWh6DSOk
Note the game SUCKS because the game was never optimized. The stuttering will happen no matter what hardware you have. It is unrelated to how powerful your hardware is, but related to the type of hardware (in some cases) or if the hardware is too new. Here is a video about some optimizations I tried doing but they do not work 20% of the time for everyone. They simply lower the stuttering, but still happens in many areas: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-KWIo3MaoHw

Proton 5.0+ Fixes Stuttering issues
I tested using 4.11 and it was always having stuttering issues. A lot of lag in many parts of the game. I had to lower the graphics a lot and even in low res, it was still having issues. Today I updated to Proton 5.0+ and I was able to play in Ultra graphics level (Everything to the max) without any lag in any part of the game.
Amazing on Ubuntu 23.10 + Nvidia
Game was tested for several hours as mentioned in https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d3x27PWUZ64 and it was just an AMAZING experience. Careful. This is one addicting game by far.
For single player it works out of the box. The ONLY thing you have to add to the launcher options is the following if you want to play online. When playing online, landing in the lobby or character creation as a chance of crashing, but you will eventually get to create your character and play normally:
WINEDLLOVERRIDES=winedbg.exe=d %command%
And the line above to your launcher options for the game. Thats all.
Perfect on Nvidia at 4K with DirectX 11

Works Perfectly
Games work as advertised on Ubuntu using Nvidia. The RT is not there yet just in case but game works as it should as seen in https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=madCSE40it0
I have read in previous contributions about mouse issues, menu issues, lighting issues and more. I have had no issues at all. And I play and full graphics with resolution of 1920x1080. So depending on your hardware the issue might not be proton but the limitations of your hardware, distro and/or drivers. Played over 20 hours already. No lag in any case, no crashes, mouse issues, etc..
Does not start and the user that scored this as Platinum a while back is obviously lying.
Only had to install it and that's it. Worked perfectly and I even got all the secret switches and the secret area. Full graphics and everything.
Installed the game and tried executing it. The logo of the game shows and after 30 seconds the popup window from wine appears saying if I should wait or close the app.
There was no need to Disable Esync, D3d11 or anything else apart from copying the DLL files found in the KingdomComeDeliverance /Bin/Win64Shared folder to the /Bin/Wine64 folder. After doing this EVERYTHING worked perfectly. From full graphics to REALLY far away graphics rendering (I could see a windmill moving really REALLY far away for example). Played more than 24 hours, not a single issue whatsoever.
The issue regarding the copying of all DLLs in Bin/Win64Shared/ to Bin/Win64/ is actually an issue that happens on Windows 7 and Windows 10 when I tested, so this is not related to proton. Because this is the only issue that affected me I give it a platinum since the game with Ultra graphics at 1920x1080 and the maximum view distance was still running perfectly. Around 50 to 60fps.
Works perfectly. Had no issues and the game engine is very smooth
The performance is basically beautiful. This is a very cool game and the creators made a great job at it. The video showcasing the performance can be found at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O8suj6UV1K0
Works flawlessly. Actuall like it better than the remastered
Game plays awesome and the graphics are similar to the Spiderman remastered although I feel they look awesome with the snowy effect. At 4K you can see the video at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r81Lr2c6-Jo along with the performance.
Should be noted that the resolution issue is an issue related to the game and affects users in Windows as well as Linux (does not depend if you are using Proton or not). So aside from having to configure the render.cfg file, the game works perfectly in full resolution and max settings.
Before there was an issue where one would get stuck when playing any VCR video. If you update Proton to 6.x the problem will go away.
Works at max settings at 4K
The game looks MUCH better at 4K for some reason. You can actually perceive the ghost further away and the quality is amazing. Watch the video at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zhAYCXmfFoQ to get the feel of it, but works beautiful on Ubuntu.
Perfect on Nvidia
Recorded video to show Proton using ultra settings at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w7GeDFCMZQM
This is a Platinum but some video glitches were found. For example black spots blinking around the face of characters (in cut scenes for example), the intro video having lag between the moment the character speaks and when the audio is heard (Audio/Video not in sync), pressing ALT-TAB might make the mouse loose the 360 degree free movement, you would need to press ALT-TAB again or a couple of more times until it fixes it self. There was noticeable lag at some parts in the beginning. But the game DID have every graphic option at max.
Version 4.11-1 actually corrected 2 things from the last time I tested this game. First the performance is much better. Previously there was lag in the main menu, during the intro video and even when appearing for the first time in a new zone. All of this is gone and the game runs very smooth. I could not find any difference between FPS on Windows 10 and Ubuntu. So Proton 4.11-1 actually made a huge difference here.
gamemoderun mangohud %command%
I used Proton Experimental but it works with the Normal one too. The game did not work on Ubuntu 23.04, but on 23.10 + Starfield Version 1.8.86 it works without any problems. It was also tested at 2K & 4K with Everything at max. You can watch the video about it here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AvtDixnqPDk
Recorded my experience with it here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NOsNdrCDj1I but you need Proton Experimental for now. There is nothing else needed after the last update of the game to 1.4.1
Perfect on Ubuntu 23.10 + Nvidia
The game runs smooth and perfect. I tested several hours as shown in https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ztpv8xjBK9o
Works AWESOME. Tested with RT + DirectX 12
I was able to test the game using DirectX 11, DirectX12 and with DX12 I also tested with RT enabled. All the videos are shown here but I was actually amazed at the fact that we can now play games at the DX12 Level.
