É um excelente game, mas saiba que ele em si tem muito problema de stuttering. Se não for incômodo, vá tranquilo.

Minor stuttering problems
DXVK_HDR=1 %command% /WineDetectionEnabled:False
HDR is unavailable unless set launch options

Just some loading stutter the first time i launched it, now the game is without any issues

Really bad stutters when loading things in. Clearing the cache helped 95%, it still has slight stutters every once and a while.

borderless window froze the game
Ran at 100fps on 4k ultra fsr on quality. Didn't seem to need to limit my fps to 60 but I also couldn't get that to work anyways

I found turning off vsync stopped all my input lag problems.
Lots of input lag
Input lag

Completed a full playthrough without any issues
The game runs really good; it's very well optimized and runs without any issues; everything works right out of the box.

Most people would probably find the game playable, but the high input lag just bugged me too much.
Followed the instructions on https://community.pcgamingwiki.com/files/file/840-dead-space-mouse-fix/ to try and get rid of the mouse lag.
Minor artifacts on reflective surfaces
Infrequent stuttering and freezing
The framerate was decent on my system, but there was some stuttering. Especially in the early flight sequence. There was also high input latency, which I was unable to get rid of, even after applying the fix suggested here: https://community.pcgamingwiki.com/files/file/840-dead-space-mouse-fix/. I'm unsure whether I want to keep playing like this. The input lag is very bothersome.

Decent experience for an EA game running on Linux.
The in game store where you can upgrade your stuff did show some rainbow lights all around it, only occured 1 or 2 times.
Crashed once.
Rare slight stutters at the beginning of the game, becomes very rare once you get deeper into the game.

Keyboard was not captured until I switched to experimental, also for agreeing to EA's tos the mouse was not visually in the correct spot on the screen so clicking the "agree" checkbox was a pain but still doable. No issues after the agreement and switching to experimental proton
Keyboard not binding without switching to experimental was wierd, never had that before, no other issues, highly recommend.

I was having some pretty major stuttering problems. Using GE-Proton, locking the game's refresh rate to 60hz within the internal graphics menu, and resetting the cache by deleting all files located at /home/(username)/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/compatdata/1693980/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/Documents/Dead Space (2023)/cache seemed to fix the issue (Note: The game will rebuild the cache upon launching, and you'll apparently need to do this any time you change any graphical settings.).
I haven't tested which of these fixes is actually responsible for allievating most of the stuttering issues, but the stutters have gone from making the game nigh unplayable to barely noticeable.

It is just on the cusp of not being that great for playing, but with the settings I have confiugred on this hardware it works good enough.
RADV_PERFTEST=gpl %command%
It runs about 25-32fps most of the time. I don't think this is out of the ordinary for this type of CPU (APU).
I accidently set it to Ultra graphic settings and the game made some very strange sounds and crashed after a few minutes. I launched the game again and it has been working fine ever since.
Full Screen Resolution: 1280x720 Refresh Rate: 60Hz Vertical Sync: Off Motion Blur: Off Film Grain: Off Dynamic Resolution Scale: On Refresh Rate Target: Dynamic Resolution: 100% Variable Rate Shading: On Anti-Aliasing: AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution 2 FSR 2 Mode: Balanced Graphics Quality: Auto
These setting seem to give the best frame rate of about 25-to-35fps using the starting command RADV_PERFTEST=gpl %command% .

Does not run ...
DXVK_FILTER_DEVICE_NAME="NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080" %command%
Probably bc of nVidia being .... nVidia. Since on Steam Deck it works out of the box.

gamemoderun gamescope -w 2560 -h 1600 -f -- mangohud %command%
There's way less freezes that were caused by shaders caching. I'd not say that they-re gone but if i lowered the resolution then the ocasional freezes were gone

For some reason FSR is completely broken in this game and will cause significant hitching and stutters every few seconds, disable FSR.
Game resolutions were completely ignored if running this game inside of Gamescope, i ended up not using gamescope for this title.
You haev to disable FSR otherwise the game stutters like crazy only use TAA
Do not use Gamescope or FSR!
Works mostly fine, with some stuttering. May require changing launch options if you have multiple GPUs.
DXVK_FILTER_DEVICE_NAME="AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT" %command%
Occasional stuttering throughout the game.
I had to add the 'DXVK_FILTER_DEVICE_NAME' launch option and set it to my discrete GPU, otherwise the game would freeze on launch.

gamemoderun %command%

The game runs absolutely fine, outside of the freezing that occurs (mainly when opening doors, but occasional) and doesn't run unexpectedly.
One weird moment where my mouse acted like it was moving in perfectly straight lines, pausing did not fix the issue, but as I was backtracking to a save station, it went back to normal.
Sometimes, the game freezes for around 3 seconds when opening doors, but recovers fine.
Stable 120fps on Ultra w/o RT.

mangohud %command%
Was having issues since the menu with NVIDIA GTX1650 Super but now with both AMD CPU and GPU, the game works perfectly without issues from start to finished. (Haven't tried out Impossible difficulty though)

The game is good, but the PC port is a really bad stuttering mess that ruins an atmospheric game like this.
Stuttering
Don't buy this; EA showed with this port that they don't give a crap to the Dead Space franchise.

It sits at 30-40fps and occasionally dips lower during very busy moments
It didn't work with my graphics card before, but now it does. Don't know if EA patched it, but I won't complain

DXVK_FILTER_DEVICE_NAME="AMD Radeon Graphics (RADV GFX1100)" %command%
The 7950x3D has an internal GPU which the game for some reason defaults to under linux. I needed to find out the "real" name of my graphic card I wanted to use. This was a bit of the tangent as "vulcaninfo" does not have a convinient package available from the installer on Debian. Downloading the Vulcan SDK and installing it got me the needed "vulcaninfo" tool and from it I could find the GPU name. Its not "AMD Radeon 7900 XT" but "AMD Radeon Graphics (RADV GFX1100)" on my particular installation. After all that I could play the game just fine, the stuttering I noticed does also happen on Windows, so its a game feature.

Game ran very well on Proton Experimental, just a few stutters when changing areas. Using GE-Proton 9.13 it ran even better, and with time the stutters from changing areas stopped almost completely, likely because the areas were then cached.

Significantly less stuttering than on nvidia 555 drivers

Like everyone else, I suffered from the heavy Stutter that Dead Space has, the developers never fixed this error, I've been playing on Linux for some time now and I've used several distros and I've always tested Dead Space Remake to see if any Distro or Proton would fix this problem and finally today I tested a new distro that has its own Proton-Cachy, CachyOS and the first game I downloaded was Dead Space Remake to test without much hope with its proton and here I am to say that this OS and Proton fixed Dead Space Remake's Stutter, finally...

Was able to play through the game on ultra settings with 240fps in most areas!
I had two crashes during a full playthough of the game, one on the secondary ship you visit, and another on the ending credits; Other than those two crashes the game ran quite well!

Game wants to compile shaders every time it launches. Was able to launch succesfully once. Cannot launch again.
Deleted existing shader cache
There needs to be a way to force JIT compiling of shaders or some other way of preventing them from recompiling on each startup.

When there are a lot of dead bodies in frame
You should have a bit spare performance for battle where there are a lot of dead bodies. Lying dead bodies ruins performance so much
I didn't played all my current 79 hours on steam deck only (mostly windows PC with 6750xt), but I play ng+ mostly on deck
No internal in-game fsr, 1024x576, deck's fsr (sharpness 5), mangohud 30 fps lock (mangohud has lesser input lag). Mangohud 40 fps lock is not bad as well
Slight infrequent stuttering during some parts of gameplay

a few stutters that overall didn't affect the experience

Works well on Ubuntu 24.04 but note that the suttering is still there because game is not optimized
There is a video recording to showcase and give an idea how it works here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PM-uWh6DSOk
Note the game SUCKS because the game was never optimized. The stuttering will happen no matter what hardware you have. It is unrelated to how powerful your hardware is, but related to the type of hardware (in some cases) or if the hardware is too new. Here is a video about some optimizations I tried doing but they do not work 20% of the time for everyone. They simply lower the stuttering, but still happens in many areas: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-KWIo3MaoHw

Games runs about as well as you'd expect
Game runs well when it runs well, but a lot of stuttering when entering new areas. Slightly annoying, but didn't cause any significant gameplay problems.
Game runs about as well as I would have expected. The traversal stutters are, however, present, but they didn't really impact my gaming experience. 60+ FPS at all times (not counting the above-mentioned traversal stutters) at Ultra settings and 1440p native. I chose to play at FSR Quality as I have a monitor with a high refresh rate. I get around 100-120 on average with some dips here and there. Played using an Xbox Elite controller connected via USB.

Works great!
Changing focus sometimes causes the game to appear to freeze, but I've never had it crash because of this during gameplay. The game consistently pauses when focus is lost, so if you change focus and find the window is no longer rendering, hitting escape repeatedly will likely wake it back up. There is an exception: if you change focus during startup (i.e. during the content warning screen), the game will actually crash with a DirectX error.
I occasionally encountered an issue where the mouse would get laggy and cause the camera to move with a delay, but this would go away just by aiming for a bit.
The most significant issue I encountered was hitching when entering new areas or at the start of some setpieces or cutscenes. This becomes less frequent as the game goes on, and the game handles stuttering in general pretty gracefully, so this never got in the way of gameplay.
I'm playing this on a HDD, and while I haven't had any noticeable issues because of it, the game warns you on startup that the game could become unstable when not playing on an SSD.

Framerate goes down at times during gpu heavy scenes
This game is not very kind when it comes to hitching. However, the steam deck (I was playing this game with the oled) has an advantage: precompiled shaders. That helps a lot with the stutter, however I was still experiencing them until I locked my gpu clock to 1600. When I did that, the stuttering vanished. The frame rate does drop, but it doesn't stutter. It makes the game so much more playable. Medium settings, fsr on auto, and locking fps to 30fps is a must in my opinion.
