I am giving this a positive review only because it works with proton and the single player is bearable.

There were graphical gliches after recent nvidia driver update
Alt tabbing would switch to windowed mode when going back to game window but the setting would still show as fullscreen. Change manually to windowed or borderless windowed and then to fullscreen
Sometimes button presses wouldnt register. Dont know if the issues is with the game or with proton
Game is riddled with bugs. Especcially annoying with coop. Dont buy it if you want to enjoy coop
Dont buy this game if you want to enjoy a coop experience.

Works great without ray tracing
Used to work great with ray tracing, but now, it only works without it.
After the ray tracing regression was introduced, the game crashed upon startup. Removing the RT_SS() and RT_Lit() lines from ~/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/compatdata/534380/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/Documents/dying light 2/out/settings/video.scr fixed the issue.

Works without ray-tracing . I'll update if I find any solution.

Game starts and plays audio, but there's no video --- the window is transparent
Tried changing Proton version and launch options, but nothing worked

Plays out of the box, no issues
Freezes/stuttering every 30 minutes, though restarting helps

I did a full playthrough of the game on windows with lowered settings since it made my computer overheat, I tried it on linux and wow... i'm very impressed at how well the game runs absolutely no stuttering and a consistent 144fps on the highest settings and my pc doesn't even get close to overheating

This even works with raytracing without any issues!

Mangohud causes the game to stutter after a while. Memory leak eats all VRAM when using high textures.
Don't use mangohud with this game. Change to medium textures if VRAM becomes an issue

Enabling Raytracing causes the game to crash

DX12 fails on my machine. It won't boot once set to DX12. A config file has to be manually modified to have the game reverted back to DX11.
Stick to DX11. Framerate varies greatly, from 90 to 140 FPS. I recommend either a VRR display or a locked framerate.

For some reason running the game with DX11 causes the game to lag over time so I had to switch to DX12 which actually ran better.
I had some issues with DX11 and switched to DX12, it refused to launch without those launch options. Appreciate it greyfivenine for providing them in your report. Works well on Hyprland.

Very often, you can't click into the game, it stutters after an hour of gameplay and sometimes crashes out of nowhere.
9 out of 10 game launches, Fedora ignores that the game is there and you can click "behind" the game window.
Game starts to stutter after an hour of gameplay while it crashes randomly, although not often.
D3D12 causes the game to crash.

Games starts fine but if i change renderer to dx12 the game won't boot until I change it back manually in the game config

gamemoderun DXVK_ASYNC=1 mangohud %command%
The game is just poorly optimized in general. Using DX12 (with raytracing) gave me better performance for some reason

During gameplay, gets from 60fps down to 15fps. Needs restart
Played without an issue on steam defaults

The game works out of the box. I haven't tested the game natively, but on my configuration, on Linux, the game runs incredibly smoothly and without any problems. I'll assume that it works better than native. I have set the maximum graphics settings, with the DirectX 12 API. The performance is just incredible, for an hour and a half of the game I did not notice a single drop in FPS or problem.

use dx11 if you have FPS problmes

Had to change the renderer from DirectX 12 back to DirectX 11. I changed it inside the game settings, and attempted to relaunch but the game would not open.
Hakon's pathfinding in the beginning seemed to be buggy/broken, I had to push him to get him to move, or stand around behind him for him to start running again.
Overall, the game runs just as well as it did/would on Windows. Ray tracing won't work, as DX12 breaks your game. Overall a great playthrough.
If you switched your renderer to DX12, and your game doesn't open, go to your steam compatdata and find your game folder, in which you'll find the "video.src" config file, and change the renderer back to DX11.

Sometimes it worked very well, sometimes not at all. I never found out what the real reason was.
Sometimes has weird stutters, restarting fixes it.

It used to run fine. Now it doesn't. I don't know what has changed but the FPS it currently plays at is unplyable.
I don't know what happened. It has previously run fine for several hours, but the most recent time I tried playing the FPS was down to a crawl at around 15-20fps. Completely unplayable.

Runs well
Singleplayer and Multiplayer runs really good

I use max settings with ray tracing and I get good fps and performance with no issues at all. The game works great on Arch Linux. I have not tried this game on my Steam Deck yet.

Works just fine out of the box.

Runs exactly like on Windows, no issues at all so far!

Low and unstable FPS, under 40 for some reason.
Steam overlay not workling properly.

The game works like it would natively running on Windows, no issues to report here.

Not starting, neither with forced experimental nor default
gamemode %command%
With default steam just completely refuses to start it for me and instantly stops the starting process, when using forced experimental I get a small blank starting window but after that no actual game launch, the sounds of the intro can be heard, but the window just does not appear. Tested this on Hyprland and Enlightenment, with the same result for both.
