Cuphead is an amazing game that works well on Linux through proton. I didn't face any issues at all

There isn't really a way to play multiplayer in cuphead. However, I did play via steam play with a friend and the latency was terrible. Not the game's fault though.

Looks amazing on OLED
you could have told me that this game is natively supported and I wouldn’t have known any better

Just install and play
No issues.
Perfect out of the box

Works perfectly in Ubuntu 24.04 for Solo, Local or Multi
The only issue is the way Cuphead "invites" steam friends to play. There are other friendlier ways of doing it. Apart from that the game works perfectly. I also tested local multiplayer.

There is a video recording to showcase and give an idea how it works here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V-Dd98wKdaw
Works fine without needing to do anything
Perfect OOTB for singleplayer
Steam remote play would either crash 5-10 seconds after launching or not detect the other player's controller

Excellent
Work like a charm
Controller detected as 2 controllers, creating the second player, both controlled by the same controller.

Clicking out of the window would cause a crash 1-2min later.
Requires 3rd party software to play online because it's not natively part of the game. Couldn't get a working solution worked out (apparently there are solutions for windows users)
Vanilla game works ok for 1p via Proton Experimental. Could not find a solution to emulate couch-play to game online.

The game wouldn't open at first. I hit 'Play', and the game wouldn't open at all. I had to go to the System Monitor, and manually kill the 'DXSETUP' process, and THEN the game opened. I had no issues after that.
Like I said... if the game is not opening at all, try killing the DXSETUP process, and then the game may open. Worked for me.
Works flawlessly out of the box
man i suck at this game, 10/10
works ootb.
the game not start, i have tested a lot of differents proton versions and kernel versions, just not open...
Works as good as on Windows
Works with one caveat
When game is fullscreen, it will turn into a black screen if I tab out
Using Vanilla OS.
Everything, from player controls, to levels work perfectly. The only caveat is that tabbing out when game is fullscreen will result in black screen.
Excelente trabalho da valve o jogo está rodando perfeitamente bem no Linux

The game runs perfectly
I didn't experience any problems
Works perfect with no tinkering needed.

No problem, just install and play.
Runs like native without tweaks
Binding gamepads to player 1 and 2 controls in-game was a bit confusing, but this is probably not related to Proton
Indistinguishable from a native port
Runs good.
Game runs fine without any problem.
