Installs and plays without issues
I started playing this game on my trusty RX580 graphics card, and at lower settings it played fine. Half way through I upgraded my GPU (it's been five years!) to the RX7800XT, and the difference is that higher quality settings and higher framerate are possible. Game plays totally fine on both.

Perfect out of the box.

Not so much for the battery, but for smoothness/fluidity, set screen refresh to 45Hz.
The menus, tips and most of the text is small. Subtitles for the speech are provided and can have their size changed from the settings.
Default Proton, as well as Proton Experimental, have bugged FMVs (Red colour layer is moved up some pixels resulting in a green bar at the bottom of the screen and a "stereoscopic3D-like" image).
Using "Medium" graphical settings (and high for textures) the game reaches easily, most of the time, 45+fps. By setting the screen (OLED) at 45Hz, you can have a very smooth gameplay experience.
The FMV bug is insignificant but if it bothers you, it can be fixed by using GE-Proton9.
As a quality of life improvement a mod can be used to remove the unskippable intro videos.

TDP= 12 W
starting menu freezes unless you load your save immediately
if textures are set either to high or ultra the game will freeze after a qhile

Black screen for a few seconds, then crash to desktop.

Small text for pretty much everything, MUST use the magnifer tool
Constant stuttering and crashing on the highest graphics settings. Must adjust graphics to low and medium, but no problems afterward

Unlike most people I was unable to get this game to launch on Proton Experimental and had to use 9.0-2 to get it to work. I did a lot of tinkering with the launch options and have pasted them but I could only get it to launch with the launch options below & using the latest stable Proton instead of experimental. You can replace your refresh rate in the launch command as my monitor is 165.
When you start up there's a green bar at the bottom but after you actually get in game I have no issues.

My default proton is experimental. I didn't try any other version. There is a green bar on the bottom of the screen after you start the game, but it goes away when you start playing.

I haven't been able to play this since December 2023, with Proton 9.0.2 it can finally run. The only difference between July 2024 and December 2023 is Proton. My launch options remain unchanged.

Doesn't work at all on my ubuntu 22.04 install

Tried most of what everyone suggested. Ran with proton experimental down to proton 8. A black screen will pop up for half a second and then crash.

Works out of the box without issues
There is a small green bar at the bottom of the screen in the main menu. But it disappears when in the game.

Overall enjoyabe experience, the perfomance issues that I mentioned are not frequent. It's enjoyable experience.
In start menu there is long green bar at the bottom looks like anomaly. It does not show up in the main game.
Sometimes the game cannot keep up stable 60 fps and drops to 40 fps. It usually happens when running in city or location with a lot of items (like inside buildings) however, most of the time it's good experience.
Works great out of the box. I didn't experience any problems

Green bar on main menu - goes away after loading/starting game & plays Flawlessly w gamepad.
Flawless with gamepad on default Proton 8.0-3 or Experimental

Stuck on Launching

Tried various launch options, nothing worked
Will not launch, tried everything I saw in comments on protondb with no success.
Doesn't start
tried everything: Old Proton versions, new Proton versions, old GE versions, new Proton versions, Experimental... clearing caches, renaming files, upgrading and dorngrading drivers... nothing can make this game start

On my system I limited framerate to 60fps using mangohud and turned the main settings to high then shadows to medium. Framerate stayed a stable 60fps after that. There was a green bar at the bottom of the screen when the game was loading but it disappeared once into the main menu.

Borderless Widowed crashed when alt-tabbing. Exclusive Fullscreen worked correctly.
Had to play on lower settings than on Windows to get a smooth frame-rate
Some serious frame-rate drops. Disable all of the following:
- vsync (causes some stutter)
- Cloths physic (disabling improved frame-times by a lot)
- SSAO (solved the frame-drop issue in the skills menu when leveling up)
Ran perfectly after configuring it this way. Saves, leveling, complex visual geometry - steady 60fps almost the entire time. Just a few frame-drops here and there, usually when there were a lot of reflections on-screen. I did try a newer Proton with the new RADV_PERFTEST=gpl, but that produced a stuttery mess, so worth sticking with an older Proton and DXVK_ASYNC=1 for now.

Works perfectly fine out of the box.
No issues found
Plays well native controls for gamepad and the graphic degradation only lasts the start menu.
At the main menu there's a green bar on the bottom of the screen that doesn't hinder gameplay but might annoy.
Refresh rate to 40 Hz.
The text is a bit small. I suggest using the magnifier to read.
If this game had the option to change the text size, it very well could be verified.
Subtitle text is re-sizable, but the UI text is not, and is generally readable but too small

Running fine with one annoying issue
Everytime after assigning attributes/talents I have to restart the game because the fps is dropping to 5 instantly.
-high -USEALLAVAILABLECORES
As with Windows, Shadows and Cloth Physics massacre FPS. Turn them both down to Low
Crashed under GE 7-10, fine with standard 7.0-1
The game works perfectly, except for the green bar.
Only the launch screen and main title screen have a green bar overlay at the bottom of the screen, but this disappears immediately once loaded into the actual game.
I have played the entire game + Addon "The De Vespe Conspiracy" with 1080p 60fps and with mouse/keyboard. Almost everything works without problems, including video/cutscenes and the achievements, except the previously mentioned green bar.
After 42 hours, I can say the game is playable on Linux. I have not had a single crash to the desktop.

To get DS4 icons to show ingame, I had to turn off PS4 support in Steam settings.
Occasionally get frame dips. Sometimes rebooting helps but then after a while, fps dips again. Mangohud shows a very jittery fps. Must be some bug in dxvk or the gpu drivers in mesa. But still playable. Instead of a consistent 60fps, i get drops to 50 even 45 fps.

Sometimes controller just did not want to work.
FPS was terrible in open areas compared to Windows.
Stutter and unstable FPS
Bad performance overall
