Dead in the water after last update ...
I've never got ProtonGE to run this worth anything. If it did run it would run in slo-mo around 20fps. Before latest update it would run on Proton 5.13 just fine. After the update a few days ago, nothing. I occasionally get to the menu, but it just dies from there.
If your distro still has the older driver, you might have issues. Just roll Proton back a bit and turn off ray tracing.
Figured out that if i turn off ray tracing it runs fine again as long as I'm running 5x version of Proton. Which is weird since ray tracing ran fine before it started wanting the new nVidia driver. C'mon Manjaro roll out that driver.
Cannot create PS account. Tried all suggestions. No luck. Also, game will not launch without the "SteamDeck=1 %command%."
SteamDeck=1 %command%
I'll be reading this thread for the next few looking for a solution, but this might be the first time I refund a game on Steam.
Only way I've played it, so can't compare. But nothing to complain about. 2560x1440 w/FSR enabled, max quality gave me pretty solid 60fps.
-showlinkingqr
Music comes and goes. I'm thinking that instead of looping, the music just ends and restarts after a few seconds.
Can't really blame the game for this one, but every time I change proton versions Steam wants to re-download the entire game. Don't know where the problem lies with that one.
Definitely need to add the -showlinkingqr in order to get started. Otherwise things are fine.
I don't know if everyone will have the framerate problem, but if they do, it's near unplayable.
I had to use a similar trick to what is posted under BioShock Infinite (Native). Find the DefaultEngine.ini file under the game's config folder and bump up the PoolSize. I use 5000 on a 6GB video card. I didn't have to do any of the other things mentioned in that report. I got a smooth 60fps (vsynced to my monitor) after only getting a lot of stuttering every time textures load and 20 to 30 fps with dips even lower before I edited the ini file. I'm using proton to run this due to the nVidia glitch that washes out the textures in this game. (characters look like mimes under strong lighting, etc.)
Won't run with any Proton version later than 3.17
All black screen with sound at start. Alt+tabbing back and forth would get a small window in the upper left corner of the screen, but menus were in the black space. Installing an running with 3.17 ran fine, though.
I've read the reports that this game is slow to start the first time, but 10 minutes and every time? Once it starts though, it's fne. Anyone have a fix for the slow start?
