As the game logic is fixed at 60 FPS, frame pacing is noticeably choppy when played at the default 90Hz refresh rate of the OLED's screen. Switching to 60Hz/FPS cap fixes the problem.

Couldn't bother figuring out why the native version didn't work, but running it through Proton worked as expected.
-force-d3d11
The game was blurry without the -force-d3d11
.

Needed to switch to proton works perfect after that

Game just works
works as well as if it was on windows. good for an old laptop like mine

Game works fine, when it works
Sometimes the game launches to a black screen and appears to freeze, but force closing it and then launching it again works. Eventually. No problems so far during gameplay.

wait its native?
Played couple of sessions with the (default) touchscreen and It worked surprisingly well. There was no performance issues and ain't too demanding on the battery either. Only downsides are the black bars on the side of the screen (like 4:3 ratio), you can stretch it in the options but the proportions arent the same and looks a bit weird.
DRI_PRIME=1 %command%
Game crashes when switching from Windowed to Full Screen
First launch of the game, runs 44FPS max, had to switch to Proton 7.0-6 and launch the game again for it to run at 60FPS.
Include DRI_PRIME=1 %command% on launch option.
Game runs at 44fps max at first launch Run the game first on Proton Experimental, then switch to Proton 7.0-6 then let it download. Launch the game with the said proton version then it will run at 60fps. You can switch back to Experimental if you like and it will still run at 60fps
Tested on both LM 21.1 Cinnamon and XFCE edition
If your going for a "one handed" gameplay. might want to put your deck on the table.
Works right out of the box.
Download & play. No proton needed. I had no issues with the game.
Changed click from full trigger pull only to soft pull as well, because letting go of a token at the wrong moment happened a little too often with the standard settings
Just a little crunchier looking than I'm used to
Works perfectly, virtually right out of the box. If you've always wanted to play this with touch controls or on the couch, here ya go. It's the closest to a mobile port you'll probably ever get. No performance issues, really light on the battery and managed to play through the entire game twice without any hiccups.
Native works better than Proton
Should work perfectly for most users, just keep in mind to install pipewire-alsa
if it's not on your system already and the game is missing audio.
Works with minimal tinkering
For my current system, I had to install sys-apps/lsb-release. In my backup Ubuntu system, the game runs flawlessly.
Great game, runs just as great
Windowed mode is the default option, fullscreen has to be enabled in the game settings
Have no issues with the game, pretty much plug-n-play
Great game, runs just as great
Game defaults to windowed mode, can be switched to fullscreen in the game settings
Not sure why isn't the fullscreen mode the default one, but I see no problem with that since it can be easily switched in the game settings
Runs great on Proton with 1 critical bug. Otherwise, play it Natively.
Game starts on Windowed mode, but crashes when you switch back from Fullscreen to Windowed. It's best that you leave it in Windowed setting. If you crashed the game, the nuclear option is to delete the entire game folder in the ~/.steam/steamapps/compatdata/ directory and run the game again.
There are no Cloud Saves for HuniePop. Technically not a problem but it's worth noting here. You can find your save files on
~/.steam/steamapps/compatdata/339800/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/AppData/LocalLow/HuniePot
Yeah, don't switch Windowed mode to Full Screen. Switching out of Full Screen will crash the game and turn the game unexecutable.
The native version is better, but if you wanted to play the Proton version, it works with Ryzen and Navi.
