Launcher seems to work only using Proton 4. Game runs great using the same Proton version.

If you try to play this on the current version, it will crash every 5 minutes or so, no exaggeration.
Game launcher won't work for me, so I had to tinker with the config.json myself to create a borderless 1080p game window with a 144fps cap. Changes i made:
"core-dump": false,
"vsync" : false,
"window-mode" : "Borderless",
"fullscreen" : {
"resolution": {
"height": 1080
"width": 1920,
}
"vsync": true
},
"msaa" : {
"enable": true,
"samples-count": 8
},
"temporalAA" : true,
"motion-blur" : true,
"fps-limit" : 144,

Edited the ingame resolution through config.ini to 720p
The launcher didn't open for me, so i had to change the ingame resolution via the local config.ini file.
It's rare, but sometimes audio crackling can be heard during gameplay.
Im pretty sure is the game itself here at fault since i noticed them even on my windows computer, but during cutscenes/flashbacks a horizontal line can be seen at the bottom of the screen showing the previous instance of the game.
The game even if "Deck Verified" needs a little bit of tinkering to make it as playable as possible. I haven't experienced any sort of crashes myself but i heard they are present.
16:9 only
Default layout didn't work, mouse only. The community one did the trick.
Launcher works.
The launcher doens't work, so you need to edit config.ini in prefix steamuser\Documents\My Games\Zero Escape\ to get native resolution rendering. By default the game stars in very low resolution and looks bad.
You can choose to run the game directly, but if you choose launcher/configurator the electron app only shows white screen.
The game sometimes overlays an image over currently rendered 3d scene. The image doesn't cover bottom and top 1 pixel line of the screen. The same happens to full screen effects, fade in and fade out etc. It's a bit distracting.
There was one minigame that was impossible to control with controller, I had to use mouse to go trough the scene.
At first I was getting crashes every few minutes no matter which proton version I used. The one recommended by steam would crash very often too. I got 10 crashes in 50 minutes. I used the version 4 recommended by others and at first I couldn't run the game. About around 20 tries it actually ran, and after that I didn't encounter even a single crash until the end of the game, and it ran every time I tried afterwards.
This is the worst experience I had with "Steam Verified" game yet.
To get native resolution use
"window-mode": "Fullscreen"
"fullscreen": {
"resolution": {
"widtht": 1280,
"height": 720
},
"vsync": true
},
You can launch into the game directly or into the launcher. The launcher doens't work on any proton version I've tried - it only shows a white screen. It's the only way to change the game settings, except for modyfing the config.ini. The game launched by default windowed in very low resolution.
After SD sleep the game would get about 20 seconds of audio lag. It applied to SFX, dialogues and music.
Every time there's full-screen effect, or a flashback, there are 1-2 pixel lines on top, bottom and right of the screen trough which you can see covered image.
I tried few proton versions, includig suggested by others 4.11-13. On 4.11-13 it doesn't even launch. On default(7.0-5), experimental, GE 7-35, next(7.0-6) it launches but crashes very often. I have played for 45 minutes and experienced 9 crashes.
While lack of ability to change graphic settings without editing config.ini is just a minor inconvenience, and graphical and audio glitches could be tolerated, the constant crashing makes it pretty much unplayable. Sometimes the crash would occur 1 minute from loading the save.
on gnome if I alt tabbed I had to press alt+enter to get back into fullscreen
two crashes throughout the game. save regularly.
I tried multiple proton versions with no luck, though 4.11-13 can at least start the launcher if desired. Despite the reports from others, over 30 attempts failed to launch at all. Wish it were otherwise, but this one's borked.
Game fails to launch
Tried to run using default settings, Proton Experimental, and as mentioned in some other reports, Proton 4. None of them work. Using the default compatibility settings will allow the launcher to launch, but attempting to start the game from there causes a silent crash.
On most Proton versions you get a crach every 5-20 minutes. On 4.11-13 it works better, but still it can freeze sometime.
With the older Proton version it works better, but still not 100%. Sometimes you will need to open it repeatedly so it starts. But overall still playable, I would just recommend to save often.
Frequent crashes on the current version.

Played the whole game on Steam Deck with Proton 4.11-13. Random crashes with the default proton, experimental and GE.
The launcher was unusable

Launcher only works with proton 4. Game itself works perfectly with proton 6.
Fullscreen doesn't work, but borderless window works perfectly and its effectively the same. To enable it, you need to use the launcher. But the launcher only works with Proton 4. Otherwise the game starts in windowed at a lower resolution than my system's default. Keep in mind that it is possible to change the options manually using a JSON config file inside the steamapp directory, so it might not be necessary to run the launcher to change the game's options.

As stated, had to use Proton 4.11 (5.0 instant crashed for me, never tried 5.13), flawless otherwise.
Launcher wouldn't let me choose fullscreen resolution. Used a community post to find out how to add resolution to the config.json (located at <Steam-folder>/steamapps/compatdata/311240/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/My Documents/My Games/Zero Escape/config.json
), primarily changing the fullscreen section to
"fullscreen": {
"resolution": {
"height": 720,
"width": 1280
},
"vsync": true
},
Works out of the box with Proton 4
Did not even try with Proton version 5, just used Proton 4 right away since it was recommended by others.
It's working like the windows version. (tested with 1440p@144hz with G-Sync Compatible/Freesync)
It's required use Proton 4.11-13, newer version will crash (at least for 5.0)

Used borderless (fullscreen was not the proper size). Alt-tab out works but coming back in, the game no longer covers the gnome top bar and it needs to be restarted if you want proper fullscreen again.
With the current version of proton, was able to play through the entire game with no issues.

Ultra-Wide screen doesn't work properly for me and the configuration tool doesn't show me available resolution. I have to play in in windowed mode and set the window to a 16:9 aspect ratio.

runs perfectly using the latest proton release.

configuration tool works. game itself does not start.

Configuration tool works, game does not start

configuration tool works. game itself does not start.

Requires OpenAL to make sound work but runs great

you can launch the configuration tool through steam but when trying to start the game nothing happens and steam just says running until you kill the games process

Requires OpenAL for Audio to work but stable framerate
