At the moment, Proton-GE gets past the opening video but It crashes again when It shows the first mechanic demonstration video
gamemoderun %command%
Videos (with Proton G.E) has missing audio
Every time it shows a video (like a Mechanic Tutorial, Opening, or the Story so far), it produces a crash after or before the playback. (I need to check if It's a one-time crash or every time. )
I also used AtelierSyncFix and runs okay I guess 1440p@~60fps (min ~55fps - max ~70fps) with vsync off and 144fps cap with my specs (with a lot of frame time instability in battles but still 60fps)
One possible solution could be repacking the game files with gust_tools removing videos, If the game has the ability to pass missing videos without crash all the game (you know, Exceptions controlled)
Please note: With Proton Experimental It will work until the opening video (after the Battle Tutorial-ish)
The game works great 1440p@~60fps High with my specs without no-problem (After the issues)
gamemoderun %command%
Videos (with Proton G.E) has missing audio
Sometimes fullscreen requires set to window mode first and then set to full screen.
After an Nvidia Drivers Update, reboot my machine and maybe some crashes were needed for reencoding the videos, Now works perfectly (and with new videos shown without a crash)
If you don't like the idea of a hard first setup (with crashes), It's better to play on Windows, I think.
I also used AtelierSyncFix with vsync off and 144fps cap with my specs (with a lot of frame time instability in battles but still 60fps)
I had a good experience with my specs, the game runs about 60-80fps most time at 1440p@Ultra with some drops to 45fps
I didn't test this game in Windows but previous reports said about a performance loss about 5-10fps
The Steam Controller or other Controller managed by SteamAPI could freeze the game for some seconds (<2 min i think). This could happen minimum once by game session (each run) but It doesn't crash the game or You don't need force to close.
I force Anisotropic Filtering x16 using the environment variable: __GL_LOG_MAX_ANISO=4 %command%
I played this game with Atelier Graphics Tweaks using SMAA, sometimes could lead some minor flickering (as black screen in some areas mainly Town), fixable with reopening the game.
This graphic tweak use dll injection/hooking,
So for run this you need this launch option:
WINEDLLOVERRIDES="dinput8=n,b" %command%
TL;DR: I used these launch options with Atelier Graphics Tweaks
__GL_LOG_MAX_ANISO=4 WINEDLLOVERRIDES="dinput8=n,b" mangohud gamemoderun %command%
Mirrors looks a bit bugged but It's nothing catastrophic
If you use Alt+Tab, It doesn't back to full screen, you need set manually to Window Mode and then set again full screen.
Maybe I would have more FPS in windows but I didn't tested and having between 59 & 70fps at ultra and with a freesync display (45-144hz) is more than enough.
P.S: I'm using gamemode
WINEDLLOVERRIDES="d3d11=n,b" gamemoderun %command%
Weird behavior, ALT+TAB breaks full screen needing change to window mode to full screen again
I used some mods (called save plus) and atelier-sync-fix (improves a lot the game).
For enable uncensorship mods(Mod Loader), you need use this Launch Options and use the hook version:
WINEDLLOVERRIDES="d3d9=n,b" %command%
Injection Mode for Mods Isn't working for now. The Game itself works but is recommended play under VM With GPU Passthougth or Windows because Mods Uncensorship and HQ Textures.
Not Tested with a SSD By Default: Black Window Using WineD3D11: Black Window with some glitches from my desktop (duplicated down bar) Disabling D3D11: Fail to execute (No Window, Close Process immediately) Disabling ESync: Fail to execute (No Window, Close Process immediately)
Make a symbolic link from $HOME/.local to $HOME/localln -s $HOME/.local $HOME/local
All the full screen options are broken but ""Full Screen (Virtual)"
PROTON_SET_GAME_DRIVE=1 %command%
All the full screen options are broken but ""Full Screen (Virtual)"
This is a better solution provided by Valve staff.

Taking in mind the the full screen isn't Working and some issues present too in Windows (Up Direction), Yeah, is playable
The Game has some issue with Full Screen mode report a incompatible resolution/framerate for my monitor (LG27GL850), is required change mode by configuration file, A Workaround is use Windowx3 Mode and Maximize the window (or use SUPER+F in i3wm for example)
Is reported too in Windows, maybe some controller isn't working the 'up' Direction in Left Joystick (using DS4 with Steam Input) which is used for interact with characters/items, it is recommended to have a keyboard nearby for that situations.

Proton-6.5-GE-2
This game sometime could freeze because some SteamInput Issue (after some second or minutes), This Issue is also reported on Windows
This game has at the moment the vsync broken or without support. which above 60 fps could accelerate the gametime/animation and break stuff You need cap manually, you can follow this (my) guide. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2465701351

Using SteamController Solution: Disable SteamInput and use stuff like SCController Using SteamLink: Works as expected (enabling SteamInput/Overlay)
The average gamer will enjoy a pleased experience inclusive works up to 144 hz / fps with a G-Sync Compatible
Video playback isn't working (Behind the Scenes for example) and the Startup is slow the first start-up because GPU Shaders Caching (is Normal). But essential stuff is working without any issue.
It works better than native (because some graphical glitches when you are high on a mountain)
PROTON_HIDE_NVIDIA_GPU=0 PROTON_ENABLE_NVAPI=1 %command%
When It's loading a map or a new zone, make a weird window behaviour (showing the TaskBar for a few of miliseconds.)
Looks is working like Windows (I only finished the first levels so maybe could change in the future)
Changing between Resolution/Quality produce some Artifacts. (maybe required restart the game, but after that is working)
Like in windows is capped up at 1080p@60fps and lower resolutions and you can't use Special K for override resolutions and framerate, So... Keep in mind
It's works like a charm, maybe except about controllers, It's working like Windows. (Tested in a 1440p@144hz G-Sync Compatible/Freesync)
Depending on how you start your DE/Xorg, maybe the game doesn't detect your Controller (at least for Steam Controller) If you starts from tty, It's okay but if you start since GNU/Screen or whatever maybe you controllers aren't detected by the game.
If you have xboxdrv service enabled maybe the DS3/DS4 Controller will not recognized by the Game/Proton. So, Try disable/stop if your controllers isn't working.
It's working like the windows version. (tested with 1440p@144hz with G-Sync Compatible/Freesync)
It's required use Proton 4.11-13, newer version will crash (at least for 5.0)
