works well
Resolution is sometimes not correct and can't be changed in the settings but pressing 2x alt+return fixed that for me
The stuttering is bearable and otherwise Aggelos can be played well
I had to assign the keyboard keys to the controller via the Steam overlay to be able to my Controller.
Stuttering especially in water temple.
everything including multiplayer with a friend who is using windows worked out of the box
Gameplay itself worked fine but till cutscenes also work I move this game back to my backlog.
Cutscenes aren't plaing, you just see a TV test image instead
After using protontricks with "protontricks 35140 mdx d3dx9 d3dcompiler_43 win10" like others already suggested here the game runs fine. I'm also using D9VK with "PROTON_USE_D9VK=1 %command%" as launch option for a better performance.
crashed a few times but totally playable
crashed each ~2 hours
works out of the box
finished the game and all side missions in 44 hour and had 4 random crashes during that
works out of the box without any launch options or tinkering
Since some people posted they're using the launch options '-Linux' or '-SteamBoards'. They are both not necessary any more with Proton 5.0-x. '-Linux' sets the country flag to LX and '-SteamBoards' disables the AWS based live leaderboards.
works well
After the first boss the game had a bug and I couldn't continue. With restarting, reloading and multiple attempts it somehow worked after I killed that boss the fifth time and I was finally able to continue. Apart from this I was able to finish the game without problems.
Game doesn't start with DXVK
My Steam controller isn't recognized because Steam overlay doesn't work
Fullscreen issues with older proton versions seems to fixed with proton 5.13
Everything seems to work now out of the box with proton 9.0-2
The game starts fine now, my controller is working and also the intro video is now playing. Only played for ~15 mins.
works flawlessly out of the box
the native version was unplayable for me while proton runs perfect
Had to use "DXVK_FRAME_RATE=60 %command%" as launch option. Otherwise the game minimizes and reopens every second.
For monitors with more than 60 hz you've to limit the frame rate to 60 fps and/or the monitor refresh rate to 60 hz.
works out of the box with proton
There seems to be a linux version but that did not work for me at all. With proton everything was fine.
works like native
The resolution sometimes resets but that is a game bug that also happens with windows
Game doesn't start
Only a small window with "Fallback - Unity 2018...." as title and a loading bar opens. After a few seconds it closes itself and nothing more happens.
crashes after showing the menu
deleting the .reg files like suggested by others did not work for me
WINEDLLOVERRIDES="openal32=b" %command%
You need Mesa 20.2.2 or newer
Games runs out of the box but with a lot of stuttering. If you use an AMD card I highly recommend trying ACO (https://steamcommunity.com/games/221410/announcements/detail/1602634609636894200) which reduced the stuttering and made the game playable for me.
sometimes there's a flickering
crashed like 6 or 7 times during my playthrough but there are a lot of savepoints
nothing tinkered, I only used 5.0-9 instead of the latest proton version but with steam play review you can't choose the proton version
works fine
enabling exclusive fullscreen in the options solved the issue
works fine out of the box
language was reset to english after each start of the game
the game does not respond to any controller/keyboard/mouse inputs
protontricks 644570 winxp
game gets laggy once you leave a building
works well
Sometimes after minimizing the game the buttons LT, LB, RT and RB did not work correct. I had to restart the game in such cases.
Performance is not really great and the mouse reaction is a bit laggy but everything seems to work
My controller was recognized in the steam overlay but did not work ingame. To still be able to use my controller I configured it to simulate keyboard buttons which allowed me to play the game with it nevertheless.
only shows an xna error
didn't test the workaround posted below
converted all media files from wma/wmv to vorbis/theora like described below by "Newbyte *gurka.se"
Without PROTON_USE_WINED3D the game paused itself every 1-2 seconds while using my controller
Game runs perfectly out of the box. Played through it two times now. Had three crashes in ~60 hours and these were game bugs where I got stuck in an animation.
works well
Sound didn't work with the native version for me but with proton everything was fine
the videos on screens in the game aren't working but beside that the game is totally playable
Videos on screens in the game aren't playing
works out of the box
The native version crashed often. In contrast I'd no problems with proton so far.
works fine
pressing alt+enter or f11 fixes the issue with the fullscreen
runs well
2-3x the game started with a black screen but this was easily fixable with alt+tab out and back into the game
unplayable with 5.0-9 for me
no sound at all
framedrops and stuttering
the native version always freezes at the menu but with proton everything works
works fine
Like others mentioned the UE prerequisites will fail to install on each launch. Just delete the redist folder and it does not appear any more.
performance is not very good but totally playable
cutscenes are only half visible when they start but this corrects itself after 1-2 seconds
it's playable but the stuttering / frame drops are really annoying
The game shows some desktop panels in fullscreen. This is solved by pressing alt+return twice to change it to window and back to fullscreen. Sometimes after using alt+tab the game didn't regain focus and I've had to use alt+tab again.
a lot of stuttering / frame drops even on lowest settings
ws2_32.dll for multiplayer: https://github.com/ValveSoftware/Proton/issues/567#issuecomment-536495333
Sometimes the numbers for life/mana disappear and with DX9 the mouse cursor disappears after some time which makes DX9 mode unplayable
With DX11 the performance is pretty bad
Game sometimes hangs and have to be restarted if it loses focus
Performance and stability could be better but everything is playable. I was able to play through normal and epic so far.
I've to use WineD3D because with DXVK/D9VK the game often crashes. I also recommend using DX9 because the performance is better as with DX11.
With DX9 the mouse cursor sometimes disappears after using the portal stone but since Proton 5.0-1 you get it back as soon as you press ESC.
Game crashes as soon as it looses focus e.g. using alt+tab
Multiplayer works out of the box since Proton 5.0-1
performance could be better and it still crashes if it loses focus but otherwise ok
DXVK and ACO are working fine now and improve the performance but it is still noticeable slower than on windows
The game crashes as soon as you press Alt + Tab or it loses focus in another way
For multiplayer I recommend to limit the fps (e.g. with strangle) to prevent lags (see https://www.pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Titan_Quest_Anniversary_Edition#Large_bursts_of_lag_in_multiplayer)
runs fine
I had to limit my fps to 60 with libstrangle to get the game to run at normal speed but this probably only affects users with monitors with higher refresh rates.
WINEDLLOVERRIDES="socket.dll=d" %command%
NoXPhasma suggested the launch parameter solution to me and IMHO it's better as deleting/replacing the socket.dll file
Funktioniert einwandfrei
- 201810 = International Edition & 288570 = German Edition
- Infos zur Zensur: https://www.schnittberichte.com/schnittbericht.php?ID=363269
works fine with proton 5.0-9
The game speed bug due to high monitor refresh rates is fixed and I had no crash so far
With disabling esync I was able to play the game. Without the game was stuck on the loading screen.
