Switched from native to proton
Native version didn't launch at all, even with Steam Native Runtime. Seems flawless on proton

WINEDLLOVERRIDES="socket.dll=d" %command%
NoXPhasma suggested the launch parameter solution to me and IMHO it's better as deleting/replacing the socket.dll file
Instead of renaming or replacing the socket.dll
, it is enough to use this launch parameter. No more file renaming after an update needed:
WINEDLLOVERRIDES="socket.dll=d" %command%
Replaced the warstone_Data/socket.dll
file with an empty file. Otherwise the input mouse would not recognized after a while.

replaced the socket.dll with an empty file
remove the socket.dll file like many said make a txt file and rename it to socket.dll and make it read only.
Rename socket.dll to socket.bak and create empty socket.dll file.
Thanks crabel, socket.dll fix worked. Just renamed socket.dll socket.bak and created an empty socket.dll file to get rid of the "missing socket.dll" error.

Game hangs when I'm trying to start playing
The message on the screen says that it's syncing user info. But it looks like it never stops. I've waited for several minutes

The game becomes unresponsive in several levels if "socket.dll" in warstone_Data folder is not deleted/renamed. When the dll is renamed, the game complains, but works without issues.
Major issues
Volume randomly changes (could be issue with game itself)
Game would crash often at certain times or fail to start and require you to manually kill the process.
I had many issues with this game, many times I could not tell if it was the game itself or to do with Proton as others would have similar issues on Windows.
Because of mouse issue I could not finish the fourth level
After playing the game for 10-15 minutes it would not register mouse clicks
After mouse issue you would have to alt-f4 to exit game
Game stops responding to (selective) mouse input. Not "mouse" issue per say, but game logic, game stops responding to clicks.
Game will "freeze", stop responding to input. Ex. level will finish, click continue, but nothing will happen, will still be in the level, able to scroll, click, but not exit, restart level, etc. Have to Alt+F4 to close game.
Game works without issue
Works as expected, for what it is.
There was no 1920x1080 option for fullscreen on my system, but that may just be a problem with Windows too.
Apart from the problems with the mouse input, the game runs perfectly
Sometimes mouse input stops working. Just a restart of the game fixes the problem for me

It's unity, so to be expected.

Game runs fine. Cant start any level.

game runs fine but i cant start any levels. Dev said linux isn't supported.

Had to set the following launch options. "PROTON_NO_D3D11=1 %command%"

Works perfectly. Played it windowed mode mostly.
