Non-Unreal version crashes at startup with an OpenGL error. Unreal version crashes after clicking through the first menu
PRESSURE_VESSEL_FILESYSTEMS_RW=$XDG_RUNTIME_DIR/wivrn/comp_ipc %command%
Unsure how to continue
%command%

Unusable
Open mic mode does not work so u less you plan on putting actual mp3s on your steam decks limited storage, you will only be able to use the built in tracks and that's a massive bummer.

To play local tracks, copy them into the following folder:
steamapps/compatdata/618740/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/Music/
Then navigate to C:\users\steamuser\Music\ in-game.
PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command%
during intense battles but pretty rare
open mic mode didn't work
Multiplayer/Open-Mic doesnt work at all. Within 20minutes I had like 4 crashes on the menu, but once you go ingame and start shooting the game runs okay, still not recommended tho, would rather play it on PC.
Plays well IMHO. Didn't tesk online multiplay or own music tracks. Just stuck with the inbuilt audio tracks and left graphics at default max quality.
Set graphics detail to 'High' to minimize bottlenecking the performance on native resolution
After searching for local tracks in 'Find My Music', the game microstutters constantly. Restarting the game fixes the issue.
Contributing to the Leaderboards works fine. However, without heavy tinkering, 'Open Mic!' mode doesn't work. And therefore, online features like Lightning / Daily Challenges are impossible to attempt.
Ignoring the listed issues, the game is still enjoyable. Playing on local tracks with no issues.

New unreal variant could not get to the menu (seemed to get stuck on the messages). VR had the same issue.
Although the standard version seemed to work, changing to fullscreen crashed it.
No issues found
works Great, no tweaking required. no visual gliches or sound problems, highscores work.
Open mic does not work
Works satisfyingly well.
Open Mic mode doesn't work.
Game is slow for the first 10-20 songs due to real-time shader compilation.
Open Mic mode doesn't work, and because of that some game modes are inaccessible.
If your music library is on a different hard drive than your system root, you'll have to specify the following Launch Options:
STEAM_COMPAT_MOUNTS="/path/to/your/mount" %command%
Long stutters make the game borderline unplayable.
Open Mic mode doesn't work
Small freezes occour frequently during gameplay
Probably Vulkan shaders compilation?
Adding songs manually to Proton's virtual hard drive is a bit tedious
Runs well with minor issues that don't affect core gameplay.
Audio output is perfect, but there's some minor issues with openmic mode, they appear not to cripple it, but I didn't test this extensively.
Mouse is trapped at all times, and game does not properly conform to resizing.

works out of the box without any launch options or tinkering
Since some people posted they're using the launch options '-Linux' or '-SteamBoards'. They are both not necessary any more with Proton 5.0-x. '-Linux' sets the country flag to LX and '-SteamBoards' disables the AWS based live leaderboards.

Has no issues with importing local tracks or using the radio channels. Used launch parameters: "-Linux -SteamBoards"
Occasionally the game will become unplayably laggy after starting a new song. Restarting the game resolves the issue.
It runs almost perfect, except that I couldn't play a song of my own drive, the song import will crash. otherwise perfectly playable.

Had to add -Linux -SteamBoards
to the Launch Options to make it run.

The game does not work under ubuntu the game wont start at all

Gameplay is fine with "-Linux". Crashes when I attempt to use a radio station. Crashed for me when scanning music and running into certain files (.mkvs, and a few mp3s that seemed to work fine outside of BH2.) I recommend scanning large libraries in parts because hitting a bad file loses all scanned progress that attempt.

You need to either launch the game with parameter '-Linux' or set a country flag via regedit: in HKCU/Controls Panel/International/Geo, value name is Nation - REG_SZ - https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/desktop/Intl/table-of-geographical-locations
protontricks 618740 vcrun2013
You also need to install vcrun2013 to set an override that prevents endless syncing screen upon game startup.

use start options "-Linux -SteamBoards"

Actual gameplay and performance feel solid, some modes are unusable and some menu entries like "Find music" cause game to go unresponsive.

To run the game you need to click on Set Launch Options and type -Linux , this is the only tweak you need to do to play it. There aren't performances issues inside the game, your country flag will be the Linux flag. If you click outside the game or alt+tab the game the game may become unplayable for several minutes or stop working.

Game runs perfectly, remember to set "-SteamBoards" as a launch option. Open mic setting doesn't work but a workaround can be found from their Discord server.

Performance could be slightly better. I was getting around 25FPS during big battles. I was playing the game on max settings but the game doesn't really seem that demanding.
