Works well since latest SteamDeck preview updates of 22nd Nov 2022. Last week the controls for tank movement were broken. Played a good 30 minutes over several games and have to say this is an addictive little game and perfect for the steam deck.
dropped refresh rate to 40 and it looks like the text reads better or has better clarity.
My style of game. I like busy shootem=ups similar to gridwars etc. Perfect for steam deck blast as the games are short (under 15 minutes) with my level of skills. Need some headphones as the music score is amazing but I need it louder so I don't annoy anyone.
Plays well IMHO. Didn't tesk online multiplay or own music tracks. Just stuck with the inbuilt audio tracks and left graphics at default max quality.
speech is hard to hear above effects. Not a fault of the game as such, it could be my hearing in a noisy environment but I am unable to hear what is being said clearly.
good game, works well but audio speech for me is hard to hear clearly. Headphones not tested.
reduced to 40 fps
resolution was 1280x720. It is not possible to select 1280x800. Selecting fullscreen in graphics menu would casue the screen to go blank so select again will step fullscreen mode to mode 2. There are three modes and mode 1 gives a blank screen. Modes 2 and 3 work ok but it is still only 1280x720 resolution so slightly letterbox game window.
The ganes plays at both 6 and 40 FPS but switichign between menu screens ao rgame screens causes the FPS to drop to as low as 6 during the screen swap. Playing the game was stable at both 40 and 60 FPS.
Default install and run without any changes will see Atari logo play with no audio and game then crashes.
Change to Proton Experimental and atari logo vid with audio will play and game plays perfectly with audio sound fx. Apparently there is some music but I didn't hear it so I guess that's the bit that's broken. Other than missing music it plays great.
Default controls matched the ingame tutorial so Ileft them alone. Pleyed wthout glitches and audio was fine as far as I could hear. Nothign bad to say, gets hard quickly (lv-3) or my age is showing how bad a player I am.
