the game runs badly given the hardware, my desktop PC which isnt that much better than my steam deck runs this at around 50 FPS on high with a 900p, i get 30 FPS on the deck with everything on low at 720p
the game has bad performance on windows but its downright horrible on the deck, im playing this docked with an external SSD, so i have no idea how fast this drains the battery
maybe proton 9.0 offers better performance, but i tried GE-Proton9-12, and the performance was even worse
some stuttering, some sound scratching. but the game notabily have performance issues even on windows
The mouse did not work in main menu with standard fullscreen. No issues with windowed fullscreen. I used the keyboard to change modes.

Works OOTB w/ wayland
Alt-tabbing during boot breaks the main menu, forcing you to restart
Pretty much perfect performance.
Only problem I experience is with the mouse on some boots. I'm not sure the exact conditions to replicate this but it seems to happen whenever I'm using other applications as the game is launching. Instead of my own machine's mouse, the game's own mouse(?) is rendered and none of the main menu buttons work (can't start a game, quit, etc.) though this is easily fixed by relaunching.

The game only ran at 20 fps at best, going as low as 10-15 fps in crowded areas.
Note : I only used Proton Experimental because it's the one I use most of the time. I didn't try with any older version.
Ran perfect, including Crash DLC

No issues
Not very well optimized but works fine
Runs great without any real issues.
For reasons unknown, I was not able to get Mangohud to work with this game.
Despite not being the most optimized game ever (as this is basically an Unreal Engine 4 game developed by a single guy), the game ran more than well enough. I encountered no stability issues and was able to run everything maxed out on 3440x1440 with a consistent framerate somwhere between 70-80 fps.
Runs perfectly out of the box

Changed resolution scale to 70, set all graphics settings to low, capped to 40 fps @ 40hz
Set resolution to 70, all graphics to low, FSR makes it look fine and I get a stable 40fps for about 3 hours.
All in all, it was still great to play on the steam deck. Ran around 30fps and KILLED my battery, but still fun to play on the go!
Changed FPS to 40
Some crackling in places. Not sure what triggers it.
Hovered around 30 FPS but never dipped below 20. New areas took a bit to load.
Runs like native
From a technical point, the game runs perfectly - no issues launching the game and no crashes. Performance-wise, it isn't great. I initially tried playing at 40Hz, though I would experience dips in FPS, so I decided to just play at 60Hz/30FPS at low settings. I did edit the controls a bit to incorporate the back buttons for weapon switching and crouching. Overall, I do wish it had better performance, but I completed the game without issues.

This is marked as tinkered only because I use Proton Experimental which doesn't really do how well this game runs justice.
Works perfectly fine out of the box
Crash au lancement avec plusieurs versions de proton, experimental, 7.0-2 et 6.3-8
Injouable en l'état
Changed to 40Hz, enabled FSR, changed to 960x600 windowed, dropped shadow quality to low
Mostly just button glyphs.
This game is known to be unusually strenuous on Linux. This remains true on deck. Better to stay plugged in if possible. Framerate can drop in some areas, but I never saw it dive under 20 fps. Usually it's in the 35 fps area.
You won't be playing this one at 60 fps, but it runs reliably in spite of the performance impact, and it's a fun entry to give a spin.

Too much stuttering to be enjoyable, in my opinion.
Considerable stuttering even when lowering graphics
Small font
Eats battery life like mad, but works great!
needs good hardware to play in higher resolution. works perfectly except the audio issue
after some time the audio is cracking, see https://youtu.be/GNSOT5xDb7c?t=559
I haven't tried native or other Proton versions, but had no issues installing or running with experimental.
Update from demo to full game did not save my status.
Cuesta jugar debido al muy bajo rendimiento que aunque bajes los ajustes sigue siendo muy bajo en comparación con Windows.
Works decently
After you're dropped into the world, asset loading takes fairly long compared to Windows, so first couple of seconds are very laggy and choppy, but everything runs smoothly after the assets are cached.
Runs perfect out of the box but performance is not 100%
It is using all of my VRAM (8GB) in 1440p. Performance is reasonable but I expected more as I played it in the past in an older hardware. It seems there's an issue with the magic cube particles. As pressing F instantly degrades my performance.
Works out of the box with proton 6.3.6
Game works like native even with Nvidia. This is not related to the game but I noticed that most games don't launch if steam is being tiled by Pop OS. So add steam and its windows as floating exceptions(If you didn't do it already).
Everything just worked out of the box with Proton 6.3-6
6.3-5 works perfectly, no custom version needed
Game failed installing ue4 deps so I had to install vcrun2019 manually
Game doesn't load any intro videos, eventually crashes with a DX11 error
Just normal tiling wm weirdness
Fails with "Fatal error!" message with any version of proton
Actually the summary is not 100% true: when using Proton-6.5-GE-2, it says "A D3D11-compatible GPU (Feature Level 11.0, Shader Model 5.0) is required to run the engine." I'm pretty sure my GPU meets those requirements. With all other compatibility tools, it fails with the "Fatal error!" message.
