Was able to run 101 Game Creator, load a game, build it, and play without issue. Audio, input, video in the game were working fabulously.
Some transparency issues with the UI, but still usable.
There were some transparency issues with icons in the GUI, but the application was still very usable.
Use "Mouse" only input. Mouse+Keyboard doesn't work, or breaks after alt-tabbing.
Have to disable Steam Overlay, and use Mouse Only.... Keyboard+Mouse isn't functional, alt-tabbing also breaks keyboard usage. Doesn't impact gameplay if you just use Mouse though.
- When running, I was presented with this error message... "Error occurred during load of settings file. Advanced error information: There is an error in XML document (16, 1)."
- Afterwards, you get the game launcher.
- Skipping registration exits the game
- Re-Launch the game, and click on Play
- The game will launch
Input, video and audio works. The game is playable.
Framerate and performance issues. Stuttering gameplay, FPS inconsistent.
Performance issues, even on low settings. This is with a bunch of the other tweaks recommended.
While the game ran, even with tweaks I still got stuttering and inconsistent framerate. Wouldn't say it's playable.
The game runs amazingly well. After some time in game, I started to experience some input lag.
After an hour of play, started to experience input lag.
Was able to play the game, but there's no menu, and no HUD is rendered. While you can get into the game, it's unplayable without the HUD.
Some missing textures, but it didn't impede play.
Could configure the game, and see its initial spash screen, but it crashed at the main menu.
Runs perfectly, full-screen, without issue. Video, audio, and input are flawless.
Worked perfectly. Was able to change to windowed screen, and change size of the game without issue. Audio and input was functional. Platinum.
Ran the game, changed resolution to 1920x1080, sound was good, performance was good. Platinum.
While there are workarounds, and tweaks out there to get this to barely work, I wouldn't even consider it at Bronze level. Use the No_GTAVLauncher hack here: https://www.reddit.com/r/linux_gaming/comments/d880ds/gta_v_better_than_ever_post_new_launcher/f18fxcn/
Not sure why people are reporting this as Platinum. When you go to play it, it hangs on "Installing Rockstar Games Launcher".
Using Proton GE doesn't help either, nor any of the workaround I was able to find.
When running, can get at the launch menu. When launching the game, get a "Error 995" error.
While many reports say it's playable, I would not recommend it for the typical gamer until the performance issues are resolved.
gamemoderun PROTON_ENABLE_NVAPI=1 %command% --use-d3d11
Borderless Window had better performance.
Running anywhere between 20 and 50 FPS.
Performance issues sometimes caused playability issues.
Won't run... Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation. Object reference not set to an instance of an object
Don't know whether the issues are from Proton/Wine, or just that the game sucks. The mouse cursor disappears when you select a character, which makes it difficult to control where you're going.
Works in Proton, but I'd recommend checking out Magic the Gathering: Arena, which is the latest iteration of this, and works well in Wine.
Will not start. Clicking Play Game shows it try to run, but then nothing happens.
Game ran without issues. Video, audio and controls were functional without problems.
Played through the whole campaign and all DLCs, with high-resolution textures, without any issue.
The new Vulkan renderer launched which improves performance. Switch to it in the Graphic Options. Worked perfectly in Proton/Wine.
After disabling the Steam Overlay, was able to install and run without modifications.
Some lighting effects missing.
The odd frameskip.
Game runs perfectly. Changed the graphic settings, and played through the tutorial. Wish they would remake this genre-bending game.
While the game ran, and single player worked through the tutorials series, the multiplayer wouldn't work. Graphical glitches too.
Some clipping, but not game breaking.
Some lighting issues.
Some crashes when trying to connect for multiplayer.
Was able to launch the game, configure settings, and play through the first level. No issues.
Apart from Cloud Saves not working, this game runs really well.
Cloud Saves don't work
Works out of the box. Able to start a campaign, play a few rounds, save/load, use menus. Everythings functional.
Aside from the server ping issue, it worked well. Went through the tutorial without issue.
Game launched, with video error which makes the menu and game unplayable.
Runs on DOSBox through Proton flawlessly. There are better ways to play this game, however. See Lutris for a native port that uses Steam data.
Once Alt-Tab was used, unable to capture input in the game.
- Browse the local file system
- Rename FFLauncher.exe to FFLauncher.bak
- Rename StrongholdLegends.exe to FFLauncher.exe
- Launch game normally and plays well
Aside from it being a product of its time, System Shock Classic ran beautifully in DOSBox.
Using Proton-5.9-GE-7-ST worked.
Follow the Glorious Eggroll installation over at: https://github.com/GloriousEggroll/proton-ge-custom
Working perfectly. Was able to launch and start a game. Played through a few levels without any glitches.
"Titan Quest must be installed to run Titan Quest - Immortal Throne. Please install Titan Quest to continue."... Even when it's installed.
Ran perfectly. Audio, video, input. Everything ran smoothly.
