random loud noises even though game noise was turned down
videos were sometimes skipped
This game works well, only use this launch option if your gpu doesn't support dx12

Works really well out-of-the-box. If you're struggling with getting the right aspect ratio/resolution, switching to Proton 8.0-5 fixed it for me!
Aspect Ratio/Resolution options were too low. (The game would show 1280x1024 when my monitor could handle 2560x1440, as an example). Switching to Proton 8.0-5 fixed this!
Le jeu fonctionne correctement avec la version 9-16 mais il n'y a pas de son lors des cinématiques.

unless you use the noted GE proton with the launch option noted, cutscenes will be skipped or lack audio. worked with framerate mod.

Cutscenes lack any audio with protonGE
Original 30fps mode works well with everything, if you apply the 60fps fix cutscenes will only play with ProtonGE, but have no sound.

-variableTimesteps
Followed the mod guide at Pc Gaming Wiki including the 60FPS fix.
The initial cutscene played fine but the others were playing in a different language (other than English). I ended up having to use Handbrake to re-encode the videos with the proper English track.
It seems that the cutscenes are what give people the most trouble. Other than re-encoding them as I mentioned, the game runs very well.
ran fine out of the box

pretty much an install and play however the game will run at 30 FPS by default likely because of the physics systems it uses.
can easily install an 60 FPS mod and it will work just as well, check out PC Gaming Wiki for the details.
game crashed during an elevator loading screen (Kamino Return chapter)
enabling Proton-GE on Steam fixed it

Cutscenes often have missing audio
Cutscenes are missing audio

After the first in game cut scene, it too many seconds for the game to continue. Other then that it was flawless. This game should be update on steams database to verified. It ran great with no tinkering.

Fullscreen works properly only with 4:3, 16:10 and 16:9 resolutions. WFHD and higher break the cutscenes and partially break the game menu.
This is a report for GOG 1.1.1.0 version, which is equivalent for whatever's up in Steam right now, minus the DRM.
The game FINALLY is out of the woods of the multilib issues which have been plaguing its existence pretty much from the very beginning.
With custom protonified Wine-Tkg-Staging build, I was finally able to view all the cutscenes (encoded with proprietary Windows Media video codec) without ANY kind of modifications to the game, and without installing 32-bit verbs of the gstreamer0.10
The only thing that's required from the user is to install gstreamer-bad and gstreamer-ugly in the system. Apart from that and the custom Wine build, the experience is finally hassle-free.
Here's hoping that Valve will backport that WoW64 support into Proton soon, and will enable it by default.

Wine Version: Wine GE Latest Winecfg set to Win 7, default prefix

Won't launch with ASF videos
Would not launch after install until I converted the original fmv .asf video files to avi, keyboard recommended.
- Install FFMS2 plug in from Discover
- Navigate to game install folder Home/Games/Heroic/SWFUII/Game/Disc/FMV/Win32
- Open Terminal here and each video must be converted to avi and then renamed to overwrite the existing asf video file, ~50 total files to convert.
NOTE: The files that are dupes followed by _DE or _ES, etc. only need to be converted to use those languages in game, the other asf files contain multiple languages, this article explains how to select a specific audio codec: https://dl.acm.org/doi/fullHtml/10.5555/1134782.1134792#
- For US/ENG, I converted them one at a time using the following command, replacing originalfile with the name of each asf video file:
ffmpeg -i originalfile -ab 128k -b:V 4000k -vcodec copy -f avi originalfile.avi
This results in a copy of the file with .avi following the file name. Rename the files and remove .avi, it should prompt to replace existing asf file.
Slay
Just started my playthrough, will update if additional issues are found.

Enabled mangohud in Heroic Games Launcher options and reverted to Proton 7.0
Played for 2 Hours. Only had 1 crash during those 2 hours.
Playable, but not an ideal experience.... Definitely not as fluid as it should be on this hardware......

Cutscene audio is a mess, delete the files on the languages you do not want, or else you will hear the cutscenes in 5 languages at same time.
i am running this on an external hard drive with no actual GPU, probably not proton related
i reccomend this version of proton, with others i could not even launch. adding dlc and community patches for further enchancement is easy, just follow the steam guides.

Unfortunatelly it doesn't work YET

Game jutters every now and again when entering new areas/during combat
Game tends to stutter a little bit during combat/entering new areas but I would still consider it playable and was certainly a lot better after applying the 60fps patch from PCGamingWiki.
Outside of in-game audio not working as expected, the game functions well, even on all high settings.
Not a great game but at least you can just click and play
PROTON_FORCE_LARGE_ADDRESS_AWARE=1 PROTON_USE_D9VK=1 %command%
60FPS patch (https://community.pcgamingwiki.com/files/file/506-star-wars-the-force-unleashed-12-fps-cap-fix-60-fps-unlock/) and restored wet clothing (https://www.moddb.com/mods/star-wars-the-force-unleashed-2-wet-clothes-fix/downloads/wet-clothes-fix)
Audio in pre-rendered cutscenes crackles and rings.
One door in Timira City flickered.
Game does stutter, not noticeable during combat. Launch option above makes the game much more consistant.
The game works, it has some issues, but if you can get passed it, it can be completed. I linked the 60fps patch and wet clothes restoration mod I used above. Oh Steam Controller and Dualshock 4 work flawlessly.

No issues with cutscenes and proton default 7.0-3
Some frames skip regardless the graphic settings
Cut scenes are not working
I tried Proton GE and Proton Experimental, the game is not launching. Works only with Proton 7.0-3 but the cutscenes are missing (probably codec issue).
The minor issues I experienced did not detract from the enjoyment of the game, and might have been problems with the game itself
Very infrequent skips during the cinematics
Occationally there was a horizontal line of pixels in the middle of the screen that appeared to be shifted out of place
Runs out of the box but cut scenes default to English only.
Cut scenes do only play in English. I suspect this has to do with the videos having multiple audio streams (one for each language the game was released) and Proton only playing the first stream, therefore English.
Cut scenes where long time not working at all or with earlier versions of GE Proton all audio streams where played at once.
With the latest GE Proton 7-10 there is no audio at all in the cut scenes.
Vanilla Proton (7.0-1) will default to the first audio stream.
Older vanilla Proton build will not play any videos.
It's very playable, despite the occasional blank screen crash requiring restart. Auto-skips auu cutscenes, because they don't play...
No audio on intro splash video and
Audible click and the screen goes blank. Can escape to menus but returning to game is blank screen. Restarting game works fine.
Cut scene audio and video do not play. Installed wmv codec but still blank and no audio.
Way less hassle than the first game.

Works out of the box no adjustments needed, or any fixes needed to install or run on proton
some minor textures issues
Game would run fine with the resolution reduced to 1080p
Runs out of the box if you don't care about cut scenes.
No cut scenes (Proton 6.3-6). With Proton 6.15-GE-2 they do at least play (again) but all audio tracks from all supported languages are played at once which makes the overall audio quality horrible, loud, overload and very hard to understand.

The game is running fine now.
The intro movie did not play!
This game used to have major graphical issues a year ago.

Downlaod the pathc launcher for 60 fps and replace the default launcher with the pathcet launcher. Inside your library disable the steam overlay and go into the folder where the game is located and remove lines 45-50 to stop it from installing "DrectX everytime.
Audio had an hardtime keeping up with the scene during cutscenes.
Loading an saved game freezes the program.
In cutscenes the game slows down to a maximum of 20 fps even with the patched launcher. Not to mention all the crashes to the desktop after them or just randomly freezing.
Crashes whithin 10 min after the opening cutscene.

Proton-6.1-GE-2 GloriousEggroll
Game played perfect but had no cut scenes. Fixed with GloriousEggroll version of proton from https://github.com/GloriousEggroll/proton-ge-custom
Videos now played with all 5 languages simultaneously. Fixed using FFMPEG to remove the non-English tracks 0:1 through 0:4 in the install folder ~/.steam/steam/steamapps/common/Star Wars The Force Unleashed 2/Game/Disc/FMV/Win32
Track 0:0 is the english track, 0:5 is the video. If you want a langauge other than english change -map 0:0 to 0:x for whatever langauge you want. The below bash "script" will check each file for a video track at 0:5 and ffmpeg if necessary. Run from the above folder. Said folder contains 60 files including ATTRACT, CAT01_INTRO, CAT01_LOAD, etc. These files are playable via media player such as MPV or VLC.
for f in *; do if ffprobe "$f" 2>&1 | grep -q "Stream #0:5(eng): Video"; then ffmpeg -i $f -map 0:0 -map 0:5 -ac 2 -acodec wmav1 -vcodec copy o.wmv; mv "o.wmv" "$f"; fi; done

Crashes at launch
The game doesn't start at all, it instantly crashes at launch

Game used to work great but now it has some issues.
Combat caused the game to lag a lot which is wiered because a few weeks ago the game worked perfectly.
Game frezzes when a lot of objects are moving at the same time.
All the cutscenes are missing which ruins the expirence.

I had to disable the steam overlay to get a good performance and good fps.
The music glitches out almost all the time making the star wars music sound really glithchy
During combat sometimes your character face is missing along with some missing details in the levels like the rain effects on Kamino.
The game sometimes crashes while loading a saved game resulting the computer having to be restarted to kill the window.

After disabling the Steam Overlay, was able to install and run without modifications.
Some lighting effects missing.
The odd frameskip.

Pixelation sometimes. I'm not sure if it is a Proton issue. It may be related to the patch to fix the fps cap (I have no Windows to compare)
I had to set the PROTON_FORCE_LARGE_ADDRES_AWARE=1 to avoid crashing with D9VK.
The cutscenes are not working. It spoils the experience as a whole.
There are some simple needed tweaks to play the game with a good performance and FPS:
Launch options: PROTON_FORCE_LARGE_ADDRESS_AWARE=1 PROTON_USE_D9VK=1 %command%
The game is capped to 30 FPS by default. To unlock the FPS, you will have to download the patched launcher from https://community.pcgamingwiki.com/files/file/506-star-wars-the-force-unleashed-12-fps-cap-fix-60-fps-unlock and replace the default at ~/.steam/steam/steamapps/common/Star Wars The Force Unleashed 2/file:///home/vinicius/.steam/steam/steamapps/common/Star Wars The Force Unleashed 2/SWTFU2.exe.

Yes works and its playable
a few hickups
