The initial intro plays, but freezes at that I expect to be the end
Can start a game, watch the intro, but not play
The game freezes while beginning to draw the first frame in the scene leading up the main menu
It was working great all through every patch in early access, but no such luck with the official release version yet. Probably just a matter of time though before it gets fixed...
Common visible artifacts makes playing unpleasant, but possible. This is great progress since it wasn't even starting a few days ago
Not there yet, but we're getting closer. Significant progress in the last few days. A few more days and maybe the artifacting is gone... I hope.
Heavy artifacting for Vulkan, but switching to DX11 made it playable, with only some minor flickering
Some minor screen flickering for DX11
Playable on DX11, but not Vulkan yet.
Works very well out of the box for DX11, but Vulkan still has some artifacting
Great fun and works great under Proton without any tinkering, just pick DX11 instead of Vulkan
Good game, with occasional crashes during combat
There seems to be specific events during combat that causes the game to crash. Some altercations crashes at specific occurances and those are repeatable, but I have not managed to deduce exactly what those are. However it feels unlikely that a user could practically avoid those without hampering game play
The fame complains that Intel graphics may not work and it is correct
The game crashes, as it tells you it likely will. Intel graphics not supported
Works right out of the box
Got Epic graphics settings by default, but noted a bit of lag, so I dropped to High instead which felt more responsive
It shows the initial warning, then exists, after about 20 seconds. But I haven't tried to tinker yet.
The initial warning comes up, but then disappears as the game crashes after about 10 seconds
So far, no amount of tinkering has helped. Hoping for improvements once Linux 6.2 is out
Added these 2 lines to the "Options" section of the configuration file [^1], just below "Resolution":
SSR = "Off",
VideoPreset = "Custom",
[^1]: ~/.steam/steam/steamapps/compatdata/1084160/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/AppData/Roaming/Jagged Alliance 3/LocalStorage.lua
Without tinkering the game crashes shortly after showing the initial static loading screen
gamemoderun %command%
Great games which runs smoothly and is perfectly playable. There is the occasional crash, but that is mostly a slight annoyance
Works very well between occasional freezes, where the graphics stops updating but the games appears to keep running
The character customization seems more fragile than the base game, otherwise it is possible to play for shorter periods of time before it freezes but doesn't recover no matter what I do
Works perfectly out-of-the-box
Despite being early access, I' ve had no issues so far. Everything works and runs smoothly
Works right out of the box
Gameplay is smooth and looks great. While I did experience rare freezes during load screens that was a long time ago now
Doesn't start
I've tried some tinkering, but haven't found anything that helps
Won't start on any Proton version
Switching to an older Proton version lets me see a splash screen at least...
LD_PRELOAD=/usr/lib64/libfreetype.so.6 %command%
Works very well inbetween occasional crashes
Playable, but expect some occasional crashes
Game gave me a blank black screen, but switching to older Proton version (7.0-6) seems to work flawlessly
Graphics terribly corrupted, very difficult to make out the menu options. Unplayable
Not anywhere a playable experience. Image is very interlaced looking. Any text totally is unreadable, but you can sort of make out some rough shapes and that way tell Yes and No apart
Works very well out of the box
When leaving the game for the main menu, the game loses focus and doesn't react to keyboard input nor mouse clicks until I restore focus again
Runs very smoothly on my Intel ARC A770 with the default High settings
Except for crashing every 20 minutes or so, everything works great
Everything looks and feels great, with smooth gameplay. Yet still unplayable due to crashing every few minutes. Difficult to finish a whole mission without a crash, and they occur out of the blue without any way of telling why
With the exception of the initial tutorial where I experienced a lot of crashes, the game has been stable and performing great
