Runs with Launch Options and forced 64-Bit Mode
You have to add "PROTON_ENABLE_NVAPI=1 %command% --use-gl=osmesa" as Launch Option and start it from Library, to get the Choice for "force 64-Bit". Then it runs (again, at the moment). backgroundinfo: osmesa is required for rendering the WebGL stuff in the Menu ...
Game does not start
You have to force steam play with a proton version to find a binary. Linux binarys are missing Then Error: Unhandled Exception: System.DllNotFoundException: fmod assembly: type: member:(null) at (wrapper managed-to-native) FMOD.Factory.FMOD5_System_Create(intptr&) .. at GameEngine.Game1.LoadContent () [0x00081] in :0 at Microsoft.Xna.Framework.Game.Initialize () [0x00047] in <4fc8466c27384bb19c7b81b2a6a71083>:0 ... Unhandled Exception: System.ArgumentOutOfRangeException: Index was out of range. Must be non-negative and less than the size of the collection.
I tried install dotnet46 and xna40 in the prefix with different proton versions with different dotnet. After that Unhandled Exception: System.TypeLoadException: Could not load type 'System.Reflection.IntrospectionExtensions' from assembly 'mscorlib, Version=4.0.0.0, Culture=neutral at MonoGame.Utilities.ReflectionHelpers.GetAssembly(Type targetType) at Microsoft.Xna.Framework.Input.GamePad.InitDatabase()
Seems Microsoft.Xna.Framework.Game missing something
Runs good but only with Proton 4.2 and /nolauncher
You have to use Proton 4.2 and set launch option "/nolauncher". Then fine
Runs out of the box and playable but the performance is not overwhelming. In some situations it seems a little lagged and choppy. Loading times seems longer as on Windows and sometimes it crashed when saving
Linux Native version has no sound on the Steam Deck. You have to select "force Steam Play" and Proton 7 in the Steamsettings of the Game
Runs out of the box - Great like in 1995
Love it
The launcher opens old Windows style settings, which are difficult to use on the Steam Deck (Analogstick, trackpoint and touchscreen). But you need to make the graphics settings there for 16:10 and "very high details". Is a bit fiddly
Problems with the mouse input. Trackpoint and gamepad buttons do not work for right click. Touchscreen is a bit difficult because of the size of the objects and no right click possible.
The game it self works fine , only the right-click on the mouse is missing and the launcher settings are a bit complicated. You need to use an external mouse to play properly.
Need to install "amstream quartz devenum qdv" via winetricks to get Video and Music working.
Only works with Proton 4.11 Performance is not great like in other Nacon Games but playable
Runs good but only with Proton 5.13
You have to use Proton 5.13 . Proton 6.3 crashes the game after the epilepsy warning. The game itself also has a few bugs. You need to create the game folder in the wine prefix user profile manually, otherwise settings and game progress are not saved
mkdir Steam/steamapps/compatdata/1449280/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/Documents/GHOSTBUSTERS ; mkdir Steam/steamapps/compatdata/1449280/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/AppData/Local/GHOSTBUSTERS
Runs out of the box - no tweaks needed - tested singleplayer and multiplayer - performance very good
Game doesn't start. If you install the entire steam environment and game with wine 4 then platinum. Proton should be wine 4.x not 3.16 ... you still have to wait
Seems to be already supported. Uses gamepad buttons to rotate e.g. houses when placing them
Game crash on start
Black loading screen appears with the sword and axe symbol on the right corner followed by crash wine error: 0072:fixme:dbghelp:elf_search_auxv can't find symbol in module 0x0000000000977e40 EntryPoint+0xffffffffffffffff in oo2core_5_win64: int#011$3
Many other Proton Games work fine. Seems no lib32, driver thing or similar. Maybe the problem is new since the last game update?
Performance is good. you have to use mf-install with game pfx ( https://github.com/z0z0z/mf-install ) if you want to see the story intro (after start a new game)
Only runs with Proton 4.11
Only runs good with Proton 4.11 With Proton 5.x no 3D Card detected. Proton 4.11 no problems
sometime crashed when using the Map Workarround for that is to change "AsyncComputeDisable" to 1 in /yoursteamstorage/steamapps/compatdata/548570/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/Saved\ Games/id\ Software/Rage\ 2/settings.ini
You must use the touchscreen for the settings when starting the game. Runs flawlessly with gamepad like on PC
Works out of the box with Proton 5
You have to force to run with Proton cause the native Linux version has been discontinued. Runs good with Proton 5
Runs out of the box with Proton 5. Performance not great like other Nacon titles but more playable with some stutters
Game runs fine but without mf-install the videos stay black. Is still playable but I recommend mf-install for full pleasure
Crashed after welcome screen
Tested with Proton 3.16 , 4.11 and 5.0 Error with latest Proton: wine: Unhandled page fault on execute access to 0000000000B96760 at address 0000000000B96760 (thread 00c4), starting debugger...
Runs fine with Proton-6.12-GE-1 https://github.com/GloriousEggroll/proton-ge-custom/releases
Campaign works great but only automatic battles. Real-Time Battles still crashes: 006a:fixme:dbghelp:elf_search_auxv can't find symbol in module Unhandled exception: page fault on read access to 0x00000000 in 32-bit code (0x00436c1c).
Runs out of the Box since Proton 4.11 (all ultra - real-time-battles fine too)
gfx_aa 0 in the config is the key to success. It is the first AA setting on the left side in the in game graphic settings. gfx_texture_filtering (the last AA Setting on the right) is no problem. I can play with all in Ultra, Shader 5.0, Texturfilter 8x no probs at all. But gfx_aa should disabled otherwise you get crashes, texture glitches (dark textures) etc. Forget the Benchmark Test. Run a true battle or the campaign for real tests. I got everytime dark textures in the benchmark test and if I run a normal game, everything is perfect ... Played more than a week with Proton 4.2 on this settings. No issues
After the Rush-Hour Update the Game missed to find the steam_api64.dll
I have symlinked 'Steam/steamapps/compatdata/1282590/pfx/drive_c/windows/system32/steam_api64.dll' -> 'Steam/steamapps/common/Train Sim World 2/WindowsNoEditor/TS2Prototype/Binaries/Win64/steam_api64.dll' to workarround this problem
Just edit the follow line to your paths and run "ln -s 'Steam/steamapps/common/Train Sim World 2/WindowsNoEditor/TS2Prototype/Binaries/Win64/steam_api64.dll' 'Steam/steamapps/compatdata/1282590/pfx/drive_c/windows/system32/steam_api64.dll' "
You have to set the "Launch Options" in the Steam Properties for this Game to "-hostx=23.239.17.171" then you can login an play like on Windows ... The Game is not listed in the Steam Search anymore. You can get it through this link: https://store.steampowered.com/app/17080/Tribes_Ascend/ Hopefully there will be more players in the near future again ...
Runs with Proton 5 out of the box. Problems with performance like in other Nanco Games
Doesn't work, even with enabled "temporary_launcher_workaround" . Shows after intro and loading an "connection timeout" error and the only possible button is "quit game"
Some colors seem wrong or pink textures appear where they shouldn't
Axes overreact. Sensitivity too high. Missing Buttons/Needs Keyboard
Playable but not good. (medium and low settings)
Long loading times. About 3 times more than on PC
Needs adjustments from the developer and the community
