Starts good (singleplay)
Played with Proton 9.0-4.

idk whether changing your proton version is considered "tinkering", however I did encounter performance issues with newer proton versions, let alone straight out unplayability in versions 6 to 8.
Modern racing action that works just as well as it does on Windows. Note that the multiplayer servers are down on all platforms.

Worked well with default settings.
Changing fullscreen resolutions in graphics settings would switch to a borderless window (of selected resolution). Restarting seemed to use the new resolution. The default Borderless Fullscreen worked properly.
Worked well with stock 9 Proton and with FSR and GE9-4. Online leaderboard servers are offline, so it will complain about that. Steam forums comment that multiplayer is still working. Game looks gorgeous.
gamemoderun %command%
DXVK_ASYNC=1 %command%
Turn on vsync and limit fps to 144, 120 or 100 fps by "DXVK_FRAME_RATE=" command.
Servers have been shut down.
gamemoderun mangohud obs-gamecapture RADV_PERFTEST=gpl %command%
Clicking on online play or online leaderboard crashes the game after 1-2 minutes.
Online servers are down for the game.
capped 144fps most of the time, on some more advanced scenery, framerate can drop to ~100
DXVK_ASYNC=1 ENABLE_VKBASALT=1 PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1 PROTON_NO_FSYNC=1 MANGOHUD=0 %command%
The game works fine (sometimes there are small FPS drops, but they are quite small), but do not try to access the network functions inside the game itself, because most likely in 3 minutes you may crash the game. The game is running steadily, about 45-60 FPS on average settings, vsync enabled
There were some artifacts, not quite sure how I fixed those.
Logitech G29 wheel does not get mapped properly; needs a manual fix in the config (kudos to leillo from (steam discussions)[https://steamcommunity.com/app/658700/discussions/0/3473990693213826461/]):
The fix: in %VR4/common/settings/InputDeviceConfig.lua
, in the section --Logitech G920 - G29
, change the pedal config as follows (steering is ok as is):
--Acceleration
{
ControlId = GenericDeviceControlId.I_ICI_GENERICDEVICE_AXIS_LZ,
DIAxis = DirectInputState.AxislZ,
Filter = FilterType.MaxDefaultStick,
},
--Brake
{
ControlId = GenericDeviceControlId.I_ICI_GENERICDEVICE_AXIS_LRX,
DIAxis = DirectInputState.AxislRx,
Filter = FilterType.MaxDefaultStick,
},
--Clutch
{
ControlId = GenericDeviceControlId.I_ICI_GENERICDEVICE_AXIS_LY,
DIAxis = DirectInputState.AxislY,
Filter = FilterType.MaxDefaultStick,
},
},
},
Default proton version yielded very low FPS (15-20); proton experimental fixed this.
Crashed twice in an hour of play, both times after alt-tabbing.
Game servers disabled; you won't get online play or leaderboards. You will get a pop-up after every race about the game being unable to connect to servers.
576p FSR
Only runs 100% smoothly when using V-Sync at 60Hz with the Gamescope frame limiter off, the Gamescope frame limiter introduces occasional periods of frame skipping (although the frame time chart looks unproblematic)
Crashes when pressing the left trackpad
Occasional periods of frame skipping
Works well on AMD APU lappy + Xbox ctr, medium settings 1200p 30 FPS or 960p 45 FPS. Only quirk: changing res requires restart to work well.
Like as made for Steam Deck.

Works good.
Played with Proton 6.3-8. Gamepad Gen Game S3.
Perfect.
My G29 wheel was working in the menus but I couldn't map the accelerator and brake pedals. Clutch pedal and steering for some reason works! I tried the various Proton versions from 6 all the way back to 3. Steam controller works perfectly.
Game doesn't work with GE versions of Proton, just get a white screen.
Works great! GTX1650, xbox controller. Fun game!
Worked without issues out of the box
Funciona en calidad Ultra a 60FPS. Exelente.

White window blinks for a moment, and then nothing happens
Tried various Proton versions, including various custom Proton versions, such as 5.8-GE-2 5.9-GE-3-ST 5.11-GE-1-MF, everytime same result
The broken frame-rate cap makes this game completely unplayable
fullscreen mode is completely broken, it just flickers until it's set back to windowed/borderless.
FPS is locked to 24 in borderless mode, windowed is locked to 10
Runs with Proton 5 out of the box. Problems with performance like in other Nanco Games
It used to not start at all (DRM?). Now everything works incredibly well, 1440p 90 FPS fluent, Xbox One controller picked up, it's a blast!
If FPS wasn't blocked at 12-14, this would be pure platinum experience.
Pure fullscreen has a flicker, borderless+windowed work just fine.
This game is now so close to running perfectly it hurts. Max graphics, audio, Xbox controller, intro cinematic, everything works, but no matter what I do it's stuck at 12-14 FPS, including the menu. The game can show its internal CPU and GPU FPS, and those are 100+, somehow just the frame showing to screen is blocked at 12-14 FPS. Also fullscreen has black-white flicker, have to use borderless fullscreen or windowed, and no matter which is used FPS is still blocked at 12-14 FPS.

Doesn't start. Running vanilla, it creates an empty game window and immediately shows a (Windows emulated) crash reporter. By forcing PROTON_USE_WINED3D, I get a pop-up error "Error initializing DirectX on adapter Radeon RX Vega. Error code: 0x80004001." Esync launcher option don't have effect. Using PROTON_NO_D3D11 launcher option, absolutely nothing happens (no game window, no crash message).
