I can't think of a single crash. You can improve the performance of the game like in every game of this trilogy with the atelier fix. I played through the entire game with the fix installed.
No issues

Text is slightly small in the conversation pop-ups,
You need to download the fix here: https://github.com/doitsujin/atelier-sync-fix After that, go to Manage -> Browse local files -> c/p the d3d11.dll file in the opened folder.
Make sure you also use Latest GloriousEggroll Fix + the command listed in this report. Games hould run with no issues.

even if you dont do the fix the game can run at 30 so for any normal gamer who doesnt care will still enjoy the game.
added the "atelier fix" which brings the game from a sub par 30fps on the lowest to a solid 60 on low to medium. this is basically a must install!!
when im at home or plugged in i play at 60 but when i go out i just cap the game to 30 with the steam deck fps capper. works good and gives the battery way more time on the game.
you need to either use the touch screen in the launcher or hold the steam button and use the trackpad or stick to select "play" or "settings" or whatever u wanna select
without the "atelier fix" the game runs really poorly for the way it looks. a must have fix for this and all other ryza games which i guess all have this issue.
low fps

Audio problem is fixed in GE-Proton8-14

WINEDLLOVERRIDES="d3d11=n,b" eval $( echo "%command%" | sed "s/Atelier_Ryza_Launcher.exe'.*/Atelier_Ryza.exe'/" )
Stick with 30fps & 60hz lock, I advise against 40fps lock & 40hz because it makes prerendered cutscenes choppy, some clothes physics jittery and requires much more power 10/11 watt vs 7/8 watt.
As others said use Atelier Sync Fix for better performance
After initial configuration add to skip launcher (set shadows to low in launcher): eval $( echo "%command%" | sed "s/Atelier_Ryza_Launcher.exe'.*/Atelier_Ryza.exe'/" )

ОБЯЗАТЕЛЬНО проделайте все действия из этого руководства - https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2873028623 Это крайне необходимо для комфортной игры на Steam Deck.

This one is really necessary for new Atelier games... Without this, the performance is really bad. Just put the dll where the game location. In case the dll is not working, you just need to use the launch options I provide above (since it's optional for me. I didn't use it but it worked)
Game Settings:
- Unchecked Fullscreen
- Resolution: 1280x720
- Shadow: Low
- SSAO: On
- Dynamic: On
- FXAA: On
- DOF: On
- Bloom: On
- Light Shaft: On
Deck Settings:
- Framerate Limit: 40 Fps
- Refresh Rate: 40 Hz
- TDP Limit: 7 Watt
First of all, atelier-sync-fix is a must. It'll double up the framerate on the deck, since it's fixing something on the game. Without it, on the village, it'll only run on 30-35 fps and it's not a really god experience, trust me. And don't forget to set the shadow to low too on this game. The shadow is a performance hog, and for me, I can't see the difference on the shadow settings, so I just keep it at low for performance and it still looks good.
Playing it on 40 fps/40 Hz is better, since above that, the fps is not stable. This game can't reach 60 FPS, it'll lingering around 40 to 50 fps. So, the golden 40/40 is better and will be very smooth experiences.
I'm using Proton Experimental since the opening movie is not playing while I'm using proton stable (7.0-6). The game is run good with proton stable, but since the game just skipped the opening movie, I'm a bit afraid that the other movie that'll get played on this game will get skipped also.
And since I'm running 40 FPS, the movie feels a bit choppier (I guess the movie is locked at 60 FPS).

No audio during opening cinematic. No other issues with audio though
Occasional stuttering
When game is set to fullscreen, it immediately minimizes itself. Activating the window again brings it back fine though
Game works great with a little tinkering, have had no problems with it. Good default controls
WINEDLLOVERRIDES="d3d11=n,b" %command%
During certain still image cutscenes, they look very low quality.
As others have explained better, with the custom fix + GE version, the game works great. You also have to tap "Start Game" on the touchscreen when the launcher appears. Otherwise, great controls.
WINEDLLOVERRIDES='dinput8=n,b' DXVK_ASYNC=1 %command%
Used GE's Proton in order to play the movie on opening the game, without it will only show static color bars and either proceeds to the title menu or crashes.
If you want to use mangohud on this, just add mangohud on the launch options and you're good to go, just make sure to use GE's Proton so that the game won't crash on enabling the overlay.

Without using Proton Experimental the intro would be skipped. Also I apply the atelier sync fix patch without testing the game sans that patch considering what other people said
Using proton experimental and played with a controller. The movies played without any issue.
You MUST download atelier-sync-fix from github and set it up in launch options before playing or your framerate will be abysmal.

Needs atelier-sync-fix to double framerate on steam deck
Download atelier-sync-fix and put d3d11.dll in your game's .exe folder where Atelier_Ryza.exe and Atelier_Ryza_Launcher.exe is, then put WINEDLLOVERRIDES="d3d11=n,b" %command% in your game's launch options under properties to activate the fix. This fix allegedly works for other Koei Tecmo games as well.

WINEDLLOVERRIDES='dinput8=n,b' PROTON_USE_WINED3D11=1 DXVK_ASYNC=1 %command%
I used the atelier sync fix mentioned in other reports, but as of the latest game updates, the Settings program errored out and the game would not launch. The key was to use the PROTON_USE_WINED3D11=1
launch option, which also seemed to be necessary for different games like Stray.
I've been mainly using Windowed mode, and not seeing any cut scene, battle, field or audio issues while using a controller.
Major performance issues out of the box (low overall framerate and large, sporadic dips), but installing this tweak and setting refresh rate to 40hz gave very smooth performance.
Launcher requires mouse use
Disabled V-Sync with a dxvk.conf file ("dxgi.syncInterval = 0") in the game's directory.
The fullscreen mode sometimes leaves the height of a title bar empty and windows can be seen through this gap. This seems to be a Linux Mint Cinnamon issue as the problem is not present when using Xfce. However, I have not seen other games with this behavior when they're running under Cinnamon.
Lower frame rate compared to Windows. Around 20-30 FPS less than Windows, with some complicated areas introduce stutters.
The game is very playable right out of the box with Proton Experimental. The intro video will not play and will display a TV test card image instead (exact behavior may vary as I've seen simple black screens on other systems). Noticeable frame rate drop may present in large areas such as Kurken Island and sometimes during a battle in certain areas.
Works great out of the box
GPU clock 1600mhz with low settings gave 30fps with dips in cities
Poorly optimized game with huge swings in power usage depending where and what you do in the game.
Only the intro audio doesn't play.
Default configuration runs surprisingly bad given "playable" status, 15-25 fps. 40-50fps is reachable with lowest settings.
Not good enough with default configuration.
Update from my previous report: Download https://github.com/doitsujin/atelier-sync-fix/ and extract the dll in the game directory next to the .exe to fix the performance issues. Goes from 15-25 fps on default settings to 60fps on medium/high (turned off bloom, depth of field, medium shadows) so I can now reccommend it with this fix.
15-25 fps with default settings despite compatibility being "playable". Minimum settings reaches 40-50 fps however it's very ugly without AA. Turning it on means the game won't sustain 30 fps.
Considering the graphics I did not expect it to run this poorly. Does not deserve Playable verification, considering the default graphics configuration is supposed to perform well. Looks very ugly without AA which tanks performance.
Just install and play, everything runs smoothly!
Works great out of the box
60 fps, crashes rarely
It was install and click play, no tinkering necessary whatsoever.
Works quite well
Music DLC had some problems. Most of the time they worked (albeit music was more quiet than original), but on some boots they played erroneously. Rebooting the game fixed dlc music.
Videos don't play. There are few, but I was surprised the game didn't play credits.
XBox gamepad does not work in 5.13 or Experiemental. Works correctly in 5.0.
Following my previous report, I reinstalled my OS from scratch, and switched from MATE on Xorg to GNOME on Wayland. I'm unsure exactly what the fix was, but after that the game worked near-flawlessly out of box.
