Works really good, just like Windows except for the EAC Anticheat that makes the game startup noticeable slower, I'm using Pico 4 with WiVRn through Envision-XR (AUR) The only issue is that I have to select stuff in the menus with touches on the trigger rather than pressings, but that's an issue from Monado, everything else works perfectly
Plays well, wouldn't really know it wasn't in Windows other than maybe being slightly slower to load

It gets to the EAC loading screen but quits immediately after
I have tried all official Proton versions, but 4.11-13, 4.2-9, 3.16-9, and 3.7-8 are the only ones that even get to the EAC loading screen, the other ones don't even launch the game. I have also tried using the beta version of SteamVR and Steam without any success. Furthermore, I have also tried switching from the LTS kernel to the latest kernel, but that didn't change anything.
I tried the "gamemoderun %command%" launch option, but just like with every other game i try it with, it makes the game not launch.
Cannot pass anticheat splash screen

Installs just like it would under Windows and runs fine past the slow EAC start - which is typical under Windows too
I'm playing the game using my Pico Neo 3 Link via WiFi. To get it working, I am using ALVR v21.0.0-dev01+nightly.2024.08.18 which works just great for me. Stable releases of the v20 branch have issues with the headset overall, now however I have the same experience as I'd have with Windows 10 Pro.
Occasional lag spikes, typically when seeing other players for the first time

I only used Proton Experimental and I didn't try anything else. It worked OOTB and EAC was not an issue at all! The microphone worked and I could speak with others with no problems.

They enabled EAC for Proton a few weeks ago. Ever since then the game has worked with Proton Experimental on my machine. Other Proton versions have not worked.

Launches to either desktop or headset then crashes
Moved from version to version with ease in SteamVR from beta to stable and Linux build, nothing has worked so far. It either launchers in desktop mode, and Im unable to get it into the headset, or it launches into the headset but it crashes shortly after launch

Done with windows? Good Linux has you.
DM, TDM and S&D all worked without issue. Was also able to join custom server and have it automatically download custom maps and componets without issue
This was the last reason i had to stay on windows, now with update 30 i no longer have to use anything other than Linux. Woop Woop!

Had usual steamvr audio issues.
Pavlov VR is back. No issues with EAC anymore. The experience is the same as what it was one year ago.

Games was broken on Linux since June 2023 due to Easy AntiCheat.
The steam forum thread, no response from the developer. Like other reports said, it should be very easy for the developer to fix it, but Linux invisibility probably has a role in that continued issue: https://steamcommunity.com/app/555160/discussions/0/6516193260178494399/

Unplayable Broken EAC
EAC spits out 'Connection failed:https://modules-cdn.eac-prod.on.epicgames.com/builds/2355/585dc2fb-e10f-49c1-b602-01e34ad5e991/{{system}}' What a mess. Dave strikes again.

Legacy version (Update 28 from Steam Betas) works, though no one seems to be playing it

Initial splash screen shows an Easy Anti-Cheat error
Splash screen shows this error: "Connection failed:https://modules-cdn.eac-prod.on.epicgames.com/builds/2355/585dc2fb-e10f-49c1-b602-01e34ad5e991/{{system}}"
Developer likely has not enabled EAC proton support in their developer dashboard: https://dev.epicgames.com/en-US/news/epic-online-services-launches-anti-cheat-support-for-linux-mac-and-steam-deck Can't play around in the shooting range as you can't get past this screen
Version 29 broke linux support due to anticheat

Currently the latest version is broken thanks to anti-cheat
you can however run from the "beta" selection the legacy version 28 which still runs with proton

Update 29 broke EAC support on linux and update 29.1 hasn't remedied this.
Used to work fine on update 28.

Ruined by EAC after working for a long time

Doesn't work with every proton version I've tried

EAC Launch Error
EAC launch error.
gamemoderun %command%
Connection failed modules-cdn.eac-prod.on.epicgames.com/builds/2355/585dc2fb-e10f-49cl-b602-01e34ad5e991/{{system}}
compression artifacts, but could be from ALVR
if you're an oculus quest 2 user with ALVR, make sure you turn off "Knuckles Squeeze Grip" in input settings or else you can't pick up stuff
EAC error on beta branch. Doesn't work with ALVR on Windows either.
gamemoderun %command%
"beta" branch has an EAC error. Bypassing EAC makes game display only on monitor, not inside the headset. On Windows, SteamVR with ALVR crashes SteamVR with a critical error during loading. Tried -dx11 and -dx12 flags, didn't help.
Had to manualy select the audio input and output.
Tested on a Valve Index.
The game would load, work for a bit, then crash. then on any other launch it just won't launch
i probably didn't do something right but it doesn't work out of the box and even with tinkering i couldn't get it to work. others have so i probably missed a step.
Main Menu has a bug where a white texture will flash rapidly, very distracting but only occurs briefly
Microstuttering 90% of the time, 10% of the time it will run great - identical to native with super smooth gameplay (possibly a driver related issue)
It's very close to perfect (on my machine) but not quite there yet.
Clearly not made to work with Linux, and clearly not very compatible. Might work, might be too annoying to play.
Periodic slowdowns that got worse as time progressed, before suddenly improving. Seemed better on smaller maps. Likely a garbage collection issue.
Crashed on start with some Proton versions, refused to boot with a DirectX error on others. Only GE 7-20 worked, including when testing versions released after it.
Aforementioned lag problems make playing hard.
My GPU is a pretty old - about 2014, I think? - R9 290x, so if you've got yourself a beefier one, you might be able to pull it off. Still, that's a maybe, because I've played plenty of other games (including a couple VR ones) and they didn't have this issue, so it's very much Pavlov-specific.
Game seems to work as intended given you have the Proton EasyAntiCheat Runtime installed on Steam.
I played both competitive and co-op lobbies without any issue.
I played the game using the full Valve Index kit running at 120hz and native resolution. I did crash twice on custom maps. The first crash was related to a mystery box effect on a zombies map. It happened once and never again. The second crash was related to a gamestate/logic glitch so that is map-related as well.
Works with -tv tag to watch pavlov games, but I assume you couldn't actually play the game on the Steam Deck

Make sure to have the EAC runtime installed if you have any issues
Anti-cheat prevents game from launching.
The dev does not seem to want to "fix" this issue.
Was able to to play offline and online without any issues. The experience was very similar to that of running the game on Windows.
Using Proton 6.3-8
Works great, just use Proton Experimental.

Latest update brings back EAC and breaks the game
Due to the comeback of EAC the game won't even launch doesn't matter which proton version :| Sad to see

Just runs. mild stutter, window lost focus at start
sometimes a mild stutter for second and working after that for rounds. can be my gpu
the game uses EAC. but... it just ran online. maybe through newest eac implementation
