Game worked up until a recent update
Not really sure what happened by after updating my system last week the game will crash at the title screen. Different versions of Proton seem entirely inconsequential.
Before this update it was 312 hours of smooth sailing by ARK standards.

Stability issues when joining a new map for the first time. Once it gets running though it runs good.

Because the dev console is disabled if you want bind more than two keys to an action you need to create a custom configuration and execute it with launch options. I used this to have space, mwheelup, and mwheeldown as jump.
First boot of the game you will often have low LOD artifacts in models and textures. After running it for a few minutes these will be replaced with whatever your graphics settings are set to use.
I play on m&k and recently I was experiencing a sticky input where you would press a key and it would stay down but only in Apex Legends. It presented on multiple keyboards and only stopped after I changed from the Steam beta update to the regular client. Something to keep in mind if you're experiencing that.
I've only crashed once or twice using GE in my 270 hours. If you don't preload shaders you will have massive spikes in your first few games. Adding the -preload option eliminates this for the most part.
Just make sure to have the Proton EasyAntiCheat Runtime installed and online mulitplayer should work as intended.
Do not neglect the launch options. Preloading shaders and setting thread priority to high has contributed to the performance. I would not recommend this game without tinkering as I experienced much worse performance on Proton 7.0-6 without tweaks. That's not to say you won't be able to have a good time, but without preloading shaders you will hate the first 20-30 minutes of gameplay.

Game window starts offset in borderless fullscreen. Can be fixed by toggling to exclusive fullscreen and back to borderless fullscreen.
Without using the bleeding edge version of proton experimental you will have to navigate the launcher blind, and the marketplace will not work at all. This is still a developing situation and both of these issues were fixed in bleeding edge over the past two days.
If Pearl Abyss doesn't decide to break compatibility intentionally in the next week I think that it's time for the dual-booting BDO junkies to give it a try.

Online works fine; same GTAV issues that Windows has.
Online works as intended and I did not notice any issues.
Using proton seems to be the way to go with this title. The native version was locked at 60fps and I couldn't fix it with the settings in-game. Proton does not suffer the same issue and seemed to run smoother in my case.
Game seems to work as intended given you have the Proton EasyAntiCheat Runtime installed on Steam.
I played both competitive and co-op lobbies without any issue.
I played the game using the full Valve Index kit running at 120hz and native resolution. I did crash twice on custom maps. The first crash was related to a mystery box effect on a zombies map. It happened once and never again. The second crash was related to a gamestate/logic glitch so that is map-related as well.

Normal shader shenanigans. Evens out after playing a bit.
Just make sure to have the anti-cheat runtime installed. No additional configuration required.

Wasn't able to load a save from the next-gen update (to be expected), so I started over.
The next-gen update completely killed the performance of this game for me. I'm not interested in 40fps with bad environmental textures. I would much rather run the classic version with the HD Rework mod (https://www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/1021) to have higher framerate and better visuals overall. Stable 144+ fps on medium preset.
I didn't add a launcher skip option and selected dx11 from that window when it popped up.

Graphical issues are par for the course on VRChat as the user-generated content is not always optimized.
This is a common issue with the game on desktop mode. My recommendation is to maximize the window before initiating fullscreen to make the black bars smaller.
User-generated content causes the majority of crashes you will get in this game. It's the same frequency as Windows. Also worth noting that avatars loading for the first time can cause lag related to their custom shaders.
Multiplayer was great and I was able to start and join sessions.
THE LAUNCH OPTIONS ARE FOR DESKTOP MODE! If you run those with a headset it can lead to stability issues.
When I played the game in VR I used the full Valve Index kit running 120hz at native resolution. I did not try full-body trackers. I also used the beta for SteamVR.
As for Unity and making content yourself on Linux I have some bad news. While the Avatars SDK works completely fine, the Udon SDK will fail to build and upload. What this means is if you're a world creator you can design on Linux but for building/publishing you will need to find another solution be that wine/vm/dualbooting etc.
