Voice chat is completely non-functional in the lobby (you can't hear anyone, no one can hear you), until you apply the fixes mentioned here. Also voice recognition doesn't work either (spirit box, ouija board, etc), though you can use text mode.
After following the steps mentioned earlier, you can get voice recogntion working as well if you select the "Windows" mode option. Also as a side note, don't use VOSK mode.

One last thing that I've noticed is that in multiplayer your voice may stutter making you impossible to understand, so far I've been able to get around this by switching the voice recognition mode to a different one everytime the issue arrises, a little annoying but it gets the job done.
The game ran significantly worse compared to windows, though the game was still playable.
In the past I've noticed performance to generally be better when using GE Proton compared to regular.
