60hz in overlay, 60fps lock in-game.
Map is a little small, other than that, not really. Compared to Metaphor, this game is far more handheld friendly.
16:9, but runs really well. Things are a little too aliased, but that's a problem with all versions of this game (unless you super sample to higher res). 10-14w power draw and 3-4hrs battery life.

Made right trackpad a mouse to make it easier to interact with network disconnect dialogue when docked with an external display.
Sometimes when there were network blips (or after waking from sleep), a popup would show saying the game has disconnected and I'd have to either use the touch screen or trackpad to dismiss it. You can reconnect in the game's settings menu.
Ran on medium graphics system on 60 fps. Had to reverify files cuz everytime Futaba's all-out attack activated, the game will give a black screen. Other than that game ran fine.

Limited refresh rate to 40 Hz and in-game fps to 60.

Protontricks used to install Reloaded II for mods.
Text is somewhat broken at 720p.
Play at 1080p to fix low res text, and disable AA as the supersampling renders it unnecessary.
Mods with the Reloaded II mod manager work without issue once installed.

*30hz *TDP 6W
Corre sin ningun problma a 60fps estables pero para una mayor autonomia de la bateria lo cambie a 30fps

45Hz
can limit game to 60hz if want some smoothness, if not 45hz is fine

El juego funciona bien, aunque mi consejo es ajustarlo en calidad media y a 60 fps. En Shibuya hay caída de 5-10 fps.
TDP ajustado a 9W

Online-only game

6W TDP
6W TDP, 40hz

Binding A and Y to L4 and L5 allows playing mostly one-handed.
800p Max graphics. FPS stays at 90 during menus, fights and story scenes. Dips to between 60 and 90 in the open world depending on locations.

- 40hz
- TDP 6W
- Set resolution to 1080p via Steam properties to fix UI elements.
- Set graphics scaling to 150%.
GPU clock speed was halved since the game is not demanding. Halving the clock speed had no impact on performance and doubled battery life from 2 hours to 4.

The game works well. Only problems I had were constant disconnects from the network.

Window mode, 800p, max settings, 40fps/hz, 5W TDP, GPU CLOCK 1100
Enable window mode, it fixes a couple of issues with the UI and performance. Game plays at 60 fps both at 800p and 1080p. With these settings I get around 3-5 hours of battery life (LCD). Keep in mind that I have Cryoutilities on without the 4 gig vram patch.

Change resolution to 1920x1080 to fix weird text in text messages in game.
Text messages and smaller text have aliasing in default resolution. Change to 1080p to fix.
Sometimes on game resume from suspend audio will crackle.

so if you play on two platforms ive found that if youre like me and run max settings on desktop and then switch over to the deck the settings wont go back to your deck settings like most games do. so youll have to change anything you had changed back to how you wanted them to be

Did change the resolution to 1080p on the deck that way I get amazing visuals and flawless 60 fps. This is a supreme port

minor controller tinkering but runs well

In the beginning of the game you'll need to set a name for your character. In gaming mode it is not possible to enter anything, even when a keyboard is plugged in. You'll need to launch the game in desktop mode, get to that point, set a name, and save. After that you may return to gaming mode and continue playing without any issue.

For more battery life i limited power to 6 Watts and screen refresh rate + framerate limit to 40 Hz

Having started P5/P5R several times on my PlayStation, having this game portable means I have 0 barriers to putting in time.
I lowered refresh rate to 48Hz. This was the lowest it would go before there was perceivable choppiness in motion, compared to 60Hz. This lends itself to very smooth gameplay, usually sitting around 13W as reported by Mangohud, but occasionally spiking power and very occasionally dropping frames.

There were some very slight performance problems in the final palace of the game (The final palace in the Royal true ending). Even so, it was limited to the final area within said palace. This was using the graphics settings set by default, which is why I am mentioning it.
I played the entirety of my 80+ hour playthrough of Persona 5 Royal on my Steam Deck. I went for 100% achievement completion during this playthrough, meaning that I achieved the True Royal Ending. The final palace of this ending (different from the final palace in base Persona 5) was the only place that didn't run well during my playthrough, experiencing continuous frame drops and running at about 20 frames consistently. Not an unplayable area, but certainly a departure from the perfect performance the game had otherwise.
Limted to 30 fps in-game. Got around 3-4 hours.
It crashed twice in my entire playthrough. Not a huge deal breaker, but be wary that it can happen
I played it all on the Steam Deck and it's a great way to experience Persona 5. Make sure to change the resolution to 720p. Character portraits and text look very pixelated at 800p.

PULSE_MSEC_LATENCY=60 %command% -high
Lowered TDP to 10, changed shadow resolution to medium, set texture scaling to 100%, set resolution to 1280x800
Crackling is frequent enough that I attempted using an environment variable to mitigate it but the audio didn't improve by much.
All of the the games graphics had heavy aliasing issues that hinders the experience, despite having anti-aliasing enabled.
Controls work fine but the mouse appears when talking to NPcs outside of cutscenes.
I manually updated Proton's DXVK to version 2.1
Game ran fine out of the box. Mods were applied according to https://gamebanana.com/tuts/15409
Set TDP to 8-9W
Mods are applied with Reloaded-II described here: https://gamebanana.com/tuts/15409
In-Game:
- Rendering Scale: 100%
- Shadow Quality: Middle
- Anti Aliasing: SMAA
- Depth of Field: High
- Resolution: 1280 x 720
- Screen: Fullscreen
- Vsync: Off
Deck:
- Framelimit: 40 FPS
- Refresh Rate: 40 Hz
- TDP Limit: 6 (lower just dropping the fps in certain areas)
With this settings, I've got 3 to 4 hours playtime...
It plays flawlessly on the deck. Portable is the best way to play this long-ass game.
Locked at 30 fps in-game, got 4-5 hours.
