Infinitly Stuck Launching
Just flat out doesnt start or work. Had to boot into windows to play :(
Game works on linux mostly well, but the perfomance leaves room to be desired. Might need tinkering.
Mouse was kinda fucky depending on what proton version was being used. Swapped around between versions and it eventually was fixed
Performance here is more of a constant stuttering when putting the game on higher speeds and gets worse as the game goes on. Early game its non existant but the end game is defined by it. From what ive seen it doesnt happen on windows.
CTD here and there, more than i would deem acceptable
You have to go into the files and delete this or else the game will never load, you will just be stuck on an infinite black screen.
Grounded/Maine/Binaries/Win64/SpeechSynthWrapper.dll
Works OOTB
Maybe not related to linux but sometimes loading and saving would CTD
FMOD_ALSA_DEVICE=pulse %command%
Use the included tinker steps if you have no audio as i did.
Try different proton versions from v6 - v8 if it doesnt work for you, also the included lauch args fix the lack of audio.
Works pretty much as expected
All the bugs i encountered were most likely because of the early access and not linux or proton
radv_absolute_depth_bias=0 radv_no_dynamic_bounds=0 %command%
Lighting is in some sort of "Full bright" mode where lighting is just very wrong, use launch args to fix.
Probably have to do a minor fix with args or two, also dont forget to disable your comiler! It causes framerate to be abysmal. Its as simple as pressing "Shift + Alt + F12" atleast on my distro.
Poe2 is so good that the issues can be ignored sorta.
Frame times are very high, consistant spikes. I had similar issues in poe1 but launch configs that worked there didnt work here.
LD_PRELOAD="" %command%
You can play without doing these steps potentially, but adding in the launch options and disabling steam replay made a world of difference for me.
Works OOTB and will recognize all your save games from a windows drive
Small issue where i cant take a picture using screenshot as it will just take a picture of my desktop instead while fullscreened
eval $( echo "%command%" | sed "s/2KLauncher\/LauncherPatcher.exe'.*/Base\/Binaries\/Win64Steam\/CivilizationVI.exe'/" )
While the game does run nativly on linux, with the included tinker steps in runs FAR better AND faster through proton. Seems like 2k half assed the port because it is noticably slower running without proton.
I highly reccomend use the tinker steps included that i kindly stole from everyone else in this thread. :)
Works OOTB
Works fine appart from it just being stormworks, no better or wose than windows
Still a janky mess but it works
Works fine
The game wont display on the correct monitor
Technically it works, but i either have to play windowed or on the wrong monitor, i looked around for tips but none of them worked
gamemoderun %command%
Can have issues with going to the proper monitor
If you are having issues with getting the game to go onto your primary monitor use the start arguments i listed and just fiddle with the settings
Game gets stuck at the Logo preview screen
Doesnt launch, maybe because beta, maybe because needs more tinkering, maybe because easy anti cheat
Audio goes completly out of this world. Its underwater, distorted, distant, super loud, peaks.
Basically cannot play with audio.
Ive seen that people say that the windows 7 version of the game doesnt have such issues but it just starts to a grey screen for me with most combos of launch arguements or proton versions
You have to launch on Proton Experimental to play on the windows 7 launch to avoid getting a grey screen.
Audio is completely borked on the windows 8/10 launch. Use the windows 7 Launch
Stability is completely fucked on the windows 8/10 launch. Use the windows 7 Launch
