Works PERFECTLY out of the box, just install and play.

Switch to Experimental
Performance is much better if you force experimental.

It's a perfect handheld game and with the settings I use, you can get around 7 hours on one charge.
Capped to 30fps as it's barely noticeable.
Vampire Survivors is genuinely one of my most played games on deck. It's so easy to just launch it, quick start, run around the map. I've never had any frame drops, stability issues, etc. and it looks great even on the slightly reduced frame rate. It's also incredibly cheap so even if you're unsure whether to give it a go or not, it costs less than a coffee and Steam has a generous refund policy either way.
Works out of the box.

Enabled "Use Steam Runtime" from the settings.

Game runs pretty good. Maintain stable performance with no degradation.
good proton compatibility, it just like playing natively on windows PC
works out of box

The kind of game the Steam Deck was made for. It runs perfectly, and daintily sips on your battery as it goes.
Tbh they did a little too good of a job optimizing this game when they switched to a new engine. You used to be able to break the game with golden eggs and lag it out with your attacks to the point it would chug down to 1fps! That's the kind of stuff roguelike players live for! The new engine on the other hand is unstoppable... Nothing slows it down...😢
Works Perfectly!

playable out of the box

It didn't work for me until I launched on desktop and signed into Epic.
Epic Games version

via epic games using hero launcher, load first in desktop as it needs to login to pic via broswer. Then it can be launched in game with no issues

Works as on windows out of the box.

Everything works out of the box

Steam version, just installed, and that's all, no additional actions. Flawless gameplay.
Download, install, click PLAY :)
Runs perfectly out of the box as if it were native.

Out of the box experience
Runs perfectly out of the box. Like native.

Unless you specifically build for very low cooldowns and big area-of-effect, it's really smooth at 60 FPS.
8 Watts TDP & 800 MHz GPU Manual Clock; Could hover around 4 hours, depending on intensity.
I always force a compatibility layer because Steam would not be able to detect my saved game otherwise.
My save coming from a Windows machine might have something to do with the odd save file bug.
Works well
