Mouse escapes game in fullscreen mode. Borderless fullscreen resolved the issue.
Performance equal to or better than Windows. Great experience.
Native version runs flawlessly
Still able to connect to RaceNet. Challenges are still available but there are little to no lobbies globally. Set your Steam download location to London, UK as this is the most active region currently.
Would only use Proton to retain a Windows save file, as they do not seem to be compatible (?)
ProtonTricks --> IL-2 Sturmovik --> Select the default wine prefix --> Install a Windows DLL or component.
Find and install the "d3dcompiler_47" component. This will resolve the E5020 shader error.
Custom multiplayer campaign worked just as well as Windows when connecting to a Windows host. Did not try hosting on Linux.
Had no issues during gameplay. Was able to use Haluter's Skin Downloader without issues by placing it in the game directory, adding it as a non-Steam game, and enabling Proton compatibility.
Vanilla playthough has had no issues thus far. Stable and smooth.
Runs as expected with Proton Experimental. Can change to my monitor's native resolution, but unable to change from 60hz to 120hz or 165hz
Text appears lower resolution however is perfectly readable.
Controller mapping via Steam Input works correctly but the in-game controller mapping did not bind my controller inputs.
No issues, very performant. 200+ fps with ultra preset on Michigan. No problems with PS5 controller.
S&S2: Enemies hit player with melee when far out of melee range. This seems to be an issue with this version of the game and not a Proton issue.
Native worked flawlessly
No issues with running the native version so did not test with Proton. Great to see a comparable native version.
WINEDLLOVERRIDES="dinput8=n,b" %command%
DualSense controller disconnected a couple times during gameplay. Possibly after Alt+Tab. Game restart required to resolve.
Good performance, comparable to Windows.
Installed OpenPlanet by adding it as a non-Steam game.
PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1
Mouse inaccuracy in main menu. Using "PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1" launch option resolves the issue.
-Low performance and minor stuttering in port. 50-80 FPS in port compared to 150-200 at sea. -Entering and exiting section view causes hitching and FPS drops while zooming in/out.
Into video when starting a new save does not play correctly but can be skipped. Following in-game cinematics work correctly.
Absolutely playable with my hardware. Results may vary depending on your system.
Used the Lutris install script to create Wine prefix without installing the launcher. Then launched the wargaming launcher .exe within the Wine prefix to install the launcher and WoWs.
Lighting reflections on ships from the water's surface is brighter than Windows.
Shift key was not working for binocs. Re-bound to space key to resolve.
Armory and News menus are slow to load and rarely failed to load.
You are unable to link a Wargaming-bound account to your Steam account. While I did test on Proton via Steam and it worked great, using the Wargaming launcher through Lutris also works great for my Wargaming locked account.
Highly enjoyable. No save issues moving between Windows and Linux.
