It works okay without tinkering, but at least on Nvidia it's a lesser experience when compared to native due to lower and inconsistent frame rates. You can probably enjoy the game as is, (and the PC port is also not the greatest tbf) but keep in mind you'll have considerably worst performance here.
Works OOTB.

Graphics card is Sapphire Pure RX 9070. Ran multiple times on previous completed save and started from the beginning with no issues. Runs basically the same as in Windows. First initial boot will have some graphical anomalies after loading shaders in game. One relaunch will resolve it.

open zones tend to stutter a bit when loading on the fly, only super noticeable when playing at high framerates (90fps+)
opening cinematic with ifrit and phoenix sliding down a cave crawls whenever the camera pans upwards
loading times can feel a bit lengthy after vulkan shader compilation, but go away after the next boot of the game

Applied the linked fix. Played without it for a handful of hours but the low fps cutscenes really bothered me. Switched to the fix for the remaining 35 hours or so. Ran without issues either way.

Rumble is broken using a Dualshock 3 over bluetooth, and it works fine when wired. I have not tested with other controllers.
Use FFXVI Fix for a much better overall experience

Frame rate tanks so low the cutscenes fail to catch up with the dialogue. Sfx just become absent for no reason
Unplayable in Lostwing. game plays super slow even with every setting tone down graphics/fps/resolution
Lots of crashing from loading a save.
Weird visual glitching happening sometimes. Very annoying and can kill the enjoyment.
Unfortunately however, Benchmark videos of other people hardware's doesn't get far into the point im stuck at so the conclusion cant be made. And SQ wont be fixing this port at all and i would just get a PS5 just for this game instead

Only requires a brand new £700 graphics card to run decently. Game is optimised horribly but performance can be brute forced

Stutter very often, perhaps due to poor optimistation
Game freeze very often.
Game freezes now and then, stutters very often. Playable but patient is needed.

Without FFXVIFix the game seems to have very poor frame stuttering; the patch fixes it.
I'd heavily recommend to use the patch to get a more stable frametime.

Finished the game on my ROG ally z1e with few crashes. The performance is pretty good atleast for my device for a heavy title like this.

Only occurs on startup of every session. Going into any menu, then back into gameplay fixes artifacting.
Going from windowed to fullscreen doesn't adjust it to proper resolution.
World map, level map and skill tree do not register checkpoints and skills while hovering over them with cursor. Checkpoints and skills only register as being hovered over if at dead center of screen.
Kino but requires some adjustments.

don't recommend if you have nvidia gpu since dlss3 don't work properly due to nvidia's drivers
WINEDLLOVERRIDES="dinput8=n,b" %command%
Since this game's performance heavily relies on frame generation(which linux does not support) for my setup it's hard to hit 30 fps (it usually stays at 16 fps), i was able to hit 30 fps with scalling 1600:900 resolution using gamescope and gamemode by enabling them through lutris
changing to fsr3 could result in crash but after i install FFXVIfix it seems this problem was gone
I have 10+ hours in this game because i've started this game on my windows setup. I had there 60+ fps with some areas where it could drop to 35 fps (1440p). i know that i don't have crazy specs but i will not play this game on linux until nvidia will provide proper drivers. I've tried every setup, changing graphical settings would change almost nothing(???). I got 18 fps on low and i had 15 on high preset. Using fsr3 option and frame generation would result in 22-30 fps with crazy "choppiness" and very poor image quality due to ai upscaling Also since every level has different performance (at the begginng i had 80 fps in proloque but after it was way worse - windows) For a moment i had a feeling that they did the performance better so you did not refund this game on steam

Tiling WM (i3) problem.
Pretty much 1:1 with windows.

Most of the tinkering is done to make it work on the Steam Deck, but even without it the game would run at around 30fps.

https://github.com/artur-graniszewski/DLSS-Enabler to utilise DLSS 3 over FSR 3 in graphics settings, and then https://github.com/Lyall/FFXVIFix which just works with no other tinkering.
Heavily distorted when low FPS
Lots of "ghosting" effects, presumably from the low FPS
FFXVIFix is a NEED with how much the FPS dips during cutscenes + a lot of other QOL improvements.

Game is stable without any launch option or custom Proton. Shader compilation at first launch took 20 minutes though.
Audio crackling just a bit when the game is loading

some slowdowns but main gameplay is ok
some cutscenes drop down to 7fps but mostly playable

crash/freeze something during/before cutscene also in certain levels. Lowering the quality/resolution may help
The issue look to be the vram. Always 8gb on linux at any resolution and quality level

About 1/3 less fps than on windows. I do also have an all AMD system (5700X3D /6800XT) running bazzite and it runs the best for me there, or with this pc and windows.
It runs and plays on windows with any gpu or linux with AMD gpu, but not as well on linux with Nvidia gpu.

Huge performance problems, a lot of stuttering, also game starts running slow when using Frame Generator. But without it you get barely playable fps.
Just no. Play it if you have better hardware than mine. But don't expect good performance anyway. Game has awful optimisation on any OS.

Very infrequently black artifacts will appear and fill the screen. Restarting the game makes them go away.

Occassional minor audio distoration
Slowdown occurs a lot further into the game where a game restart resolves it.
Key Takeways:
The game ran decently at 1440p with default high settings, FSR3 and Frame Generation enabled. Mostly sub 60 fps but smooth. Frame generation was key to the performance.*
Occasional audio distortion which can possibly be linked to frame generation but did not test enough with it off to confirm.
The Major Issue is a permanent slowdown that seems to occur randomly that was not present in the demo. From my experience it occured more regularly further into the game. Saving and then restarting was the resolution. This problem is still present in the steam discussions so this can potentialy be an issue with the game that gets patched in future updates and not proton related. Recent steam discussions on the slowdown point to either memory leak issue or Razor synapse integration.
I was able to complete the main campaign successfully but did not attempt the DLCs due to the increased frequency of the slowdown issue that occurs later in the game. Having to restart every time it occured became quite annoying and tiresome.

Most of the thing is OK, just some area will be lag. To fix it, should using WINEDLLOVERRIDES="dinput8=n,b" %command%, and set the npc number to "low" at game setting - then anything will be OK.

Demo Worked better for me, had to return it ;--; Need to wait until i get better hardware.
Very low framerates, stuttering and freezes on low settings with upscaling and frame gen, need better hardware to play

Worked out the box without tinkering
Running on High settings; framrate between 60-70 fps. I've experienced frame dips into low 30s in some areas but not too frequent.

Works great with the exception of HDR. Haven't had one issue, imo this should be gold rating.

Proton Experimental as of 25th November seems to have significantly improved FPS issues. The game is still very demanding but I went from 20-30FPS on low, to a playable 50FPS on medium settings

Works with Proton Experimental but is a very demanding game. Do not skip compiling shaders
On the second startup, the controller didn't work until bypassing the DLC unlock messages with the keyboard
Using the default proton there was some artifacting and screen-space reflections were broken. Performance was 20-60FPS depending on the area. Switching to proton experimental fixed all the problems I was noticing and improved performance to 40-70FPS. Settings were the low preset with upscaling disabled, vignette enabled, and screen space reflections enabled. I initially skipped compiling shaders for experimental because it took over an hour for the default proton, but this lead to significant slowdowns and a crash to desktop. Compiling shaders for experimental fixed the slowdown and hasn't crashed for an hour of gameplay.

Full screen causes a black screen, had to disable it.
Something causes it to be extremely slow seconds after starting the game. Occasionally performance gets back to normal. I haven't been able to figure out what it is, but it's inconsistent. The same is true for the demo, although it appears to be less likely there?
As a consequence of the slowness, it's basically a crash. Music still plays though...

Unfortunelly the game oftem crashes.
If the game didn't crash frequently and also didn't have frame pacing issues it would've been a great experience.
