Runs perfectly
On Vulkan and OpenGL, I never got below 50 FPS, consistently around 60-80 FPS on campaign. Multiplayer and SnapMap work.
Runs perfectly out of the box.
DOS version had a black full screen. To fix: alt-tab out and back in, then alt-enter to window it and alt-enter to fullscreen it. Bethesda version has no problems.
You might have some trouble with windowing on the DOS version but it's an easy fix. Bethesda version works perfectly. I also noticed lower mouse sensitivity than normal, so I increased it and it worked perfectly - unsure if I had to do the same on Windows and it was an easy fix so I have not flagged it as a defect in the report.
Runs perfectly out of the box.
Both the original and BFG edition work perfectly without any tweaks required. Ultimate Doom and Doom II work well in BFG edition and the mouse sensitivity was perfect - best out of the box Classic Doom experience so far.
Works perfectly
The game works perfectly without any tweaks needed. Runs as if native with a constant 60 FPS and no graphical or audio issues.
You wouldn't notice the difference.
Was able to get a very respectable framerate on my ultrawide monitor and a GTX 1070. I'd say you wouldn't be able to notice the difference whether it was on Windows or Linux.
Flawless experience without any Proton tweaks.
Lags but only on DOS versions.
The Bethesda version works perfectly (I increased mouse senstivity but that's it) but some lag issues with the DOS version.
Runs as if native
Somehow works better than the DOS versions of Final Doom in the Doom II launcher. It doesn't have any performance issues or windowing issues.
Crashes on launch. Hammer of Thyrion source port runs perfectly but this is not what is being tested. Maybe it is a problem with early Open GL versions.
Works as well as any DOSBox game would run. Still could be native but this does the trick.
HeXen works perfectly out of the box in Proton. There are native alternatives (Linux Dosbox, GZDoom, and other source ports) but this is hassle-free and provides a vanilla experience.
Game runs perfectly out of the box, suitable for a vanilla experience but graphics will be a bit blurred on higher resolutions (dosbox problem). Use source ports for a native, improved experience.
A lot of stuttering.
Performance is surprisingly terrible.
In two minds about this. The performance of WinQuake deserves platinum but GLQuake is completely borked.
Quake remaster works perfectly out of the box on default settings. GLQuake is still borked - it takes me to a black screen with sound.
Could not start a single player game, caught in "awaiting snapshot" loop. Tried disabling sound but it did not fix. May be a problem with the game itself. Cannot check due to it not booting on Windows.
Quake II remaster and original both work perfectly out-of-the-box with no need for additional configuration.
Runs better than on Windows: it runs without problem and loads the introduction cinematic.
Game runs perfectly
I have not encountered any performance or graphical issues.
Works perfectly well out of the box. Steam version runs on ScummVM, you could install that natively on Linux if you want to but I think it works well enough out of the box not to bother with that.
Music did not play for ROTT but played for Blakestone.
Full screen didn't cover task panel (XFCE) until I alt-tabbed back into it for ROTT and Blakestone.
Without any tweaks, ROTT and Blakestone work well enough but have some initial problems with full-screen. ROTT does not play music. That said, the game is playable, if a bit inconvenient at the start.
Appears to work perfectly but it's such a janky game on Windows, it's hard to tell.
Mouse control felt off
Choice between Wolfenstein and Spear of Destiny bugged out after ending game. Strobing effect.
One minor graphical issue and a controls issue that may just be the mouse configuration.
