It's Doom 64 running upwards of 1080p 120fps
It's good old Doom 64, and runs fine

Heavy and extremely common artifacts. Textures get swapped or straight up glitch out. Tried various versions of Proton, some are worse.
Texture swapping
20-30 FPS drops

Was able to 100% on linux
It just works!

Runs great out of the box!
Be sure to run Steam Runtime, not Steam Native. When running this game via Steam Native, the libraries are not compatible with the game and you'll get weird issues like not being able to get to the main menu.

Ran with no issues using both Proton 9.0 and Proton Experimental

Replaced SDL2.dll file with version from the Quake remaster.
The game would not launch when running with proton. Using Wine/Wine GE fixed this issue.

Runs perfectly

Perfect OTB.
2 crashes, and 3 or 4 freezes which eventually unfroze.
Works great out of the box

In the past, this game used to have problems with the mouse polling rate, but not anymore. It works perfect now.

Works out of the box would recommend

Works perfectly
The game works perfectly without any tweaks needed. Runs as if native with a constant 60 FPS and no graphical or audio issues.
Game doesn't launch
Runs perfectly
Jogo roda perfeitamente bem, sem nenhum problema

Is perfectly playable
Rarely crashes when loading a save, but it's not a Proton issue.

I installed DOOM64 from Epic Games Store using Heroic Launcher. The only thing I did - I got the SDL2.dll file - which is available in GitHub - libsdl-org -> SDL repository and replace it in the installation folder.
Runs perfect

I installed it on Heroic cause i don't have it on Steam, i have it on Epic, but should work on steam too without issues.

On first boot it will try to open a browser with a link to the Epic Store to link your account. This didn't work before (the spinning square error mentioned in other reports) but it worked for me later, maybe after the 3.4 SteamOS upgrade. This only happens once.
Replace libSDL.dll with Quake's, like other reports explain

I've played the game with no mods, as well as with Reloaded & the Unmaking.
It just works.
No issues
Works flawless.

The high DPI mouse issue seems to have been fixed after the steam deck update, making the game fully playable.
It ran perfectly fine on the Steam Deck after being updated for it, I had tried it before hand and it was pretty rough, so glad it's fixed.
No setup needed, just install and slay! 4+ hours out of the box, and crank down the TDP for up to 6 hours of battery life while playing!
There were minor lag spikes here and there but nothing major
Runs out of the box
Crashed only 3 times in over 6h gameplay and only after hiting F9 for quickload many times
No more manually replacing SDL2, works fine, no input lags, very rare crashes.
