Smooth and stable performance on DX11. Can be run by deleting "bg3.exe" and copying and renaming "bg3_dx11.exe" into "bg3.exe".
gamemoderun PROTON_HIDE_NVIDIA_GPU=0 PROTON_ENABLE_NVAPI=1 %command%
Vulkan renderer causes crashes, use DX11.
4 player co-op without any issues.
Heavy stutter at the start due to shader caching. Becomes pretty much non-existent after 5 - 10 hrs of play.
Proton-7.0rc3-GE-1 https://github.com/GloriousEggroll/proton-ge-custom
Crashes happening every 3 - 5 hrs.
Origin is able to install, but constantly minimizes and crashes when trying to launch Origin through Steam.
Proton-5.8-GE-2-MF Tried to install prerequesites like .net and VC with no luck.
With custom proton version and this mess of a launch options I got the FPS drops and stutters to stop and actually be enjoyable.
VKD3D_CONFIG=dxr11 RADV_PERFTEST=gpl PROTON_HIDE_NVIDIA_GPU=0 DXVK_ENABLE_NVAPI=1 PROTON_ENABLE_NVAPI=1 %command%
Major FPS drops without launch options and custom proton version.
Played at ultra settings with tray tracing on performance and DLSS at Balanced at 1440p.

Bucket shaped object on Prophets hands during the frozen level.
Cry(o)sis
Idk man. Game works. Only crashed once. Performance was decent enough.
I can only recommend this game to those who are interested in Digital Extremes history and Warframe, or have nostalgia for this game.
Weird blurry glitch artifact on bottom right
Frame drops
Game likes to crash
You have to go into the config within the game directory to set the resolution. The game does not support pixel widths beyond 2048, so you kinda have to play in 4:3 if you got a 1440p monitor.
If you are playing in 16:9, the game will be stretched because whoever did the port made a mistake. Go into the config and pase Graphics.DisplayAspectRatio=FullScreen4x3 underneath [Windows_Config,/Types/Config]. Yes, it says 4x3 but they for some reason, made that render 16:9 correctly. You can probably read more in the PC Gaming Wiki.
While solo play do work, the meat of the game (co-op) does not. I am not able to join public lobbies, the game just freezes then crashes.
Game works fine for me when using Proton 5.0-10 If you have issues connecting to lobbies, try using this version.
Proton-7.0rc6-GE-1 GloriousEggroll
Proton-7.0rc6-GE-1
Fixed with "DXVK_ASYNC=1 %command%"
Performance degradation over duration of play, FPS goes down to single digits after changing graphical settings and a restart is needed.
gamemoderun %command% gamescope --force-grab-cursor %command% -USEALLAVAILABLECORES
Using GE-Proton10-3 I had to use gamescope to lock the cursor. Ended up solving significant freezes when tabbing out and in of fullscreen.
The game runs fine, stable 60 fps all the way. Works out of the box with the latest Proton version without any tweaking.
Slight freezes at times, mostly just in menus. Honestly a non-issue to me.
When it works it is an amazing game. But the crashing detract from the joy when it does happen.
gamemoderun PROTON_HIDE_NVIDIA_GPU=0 PROTON_ENABLE_NVAPI=1 %command%
Usually I do not have issue with upscaling for games. But this game RELIES on upscaling to have good performance. Sometimes the game bugs out and framerate drops down to powerpoint slide.
Variable. Sometimes I can play for hours without crashing. Other times I crash multiple times within the hour.
Amazing game. But stability is so bad!
Ultimate Engine Tweaks https://www.nexusmods.com/oblivionremastered/mods/35
Stutters and FPS drops beneath 60 even on lower settings.
People with hardware similar to mine report similar performance issues on Windows. It is not a great look when modded Skyrim can achieve visuals of similar or even better quality with better performance.
