The game works just fine on Proton 8.
A minor graphical issue - land textures in a very small radius around the starting city in the first easiest difficulty map look like they are Z-fighting and phasing in and out. It is less prominent when zoomed out a bit.
At first I tried launching with GE Proton but none of the last two versions of it worked for me, it resulted in an error when Steam was trying to launch the Paradox Launcher. Switching to the standard Proton 8 made it work just fine.
The game run fine multiplayer with no problems.
During my testing the game didn't work with standard Proton version, had to use GE-Proton
Apart from the abysmal launch time and Steam's inability to go into fullscreen without manual intervention it works fine as of now.

Steam is not capable of launching the game with proper fullscreen. I have to order the composer manually to make the game fullscreen. So it works, but requires me to right click it on the start bar and select that option every single time I launch it.
Game always takes a really long time to launch, few to several minutes.
A patch or two ago there were huge fps drops with certain particle effects, like Sand King's Sandstorm. Fps dropped from 140 to 24. Right now it seems to be gone.
Game works. Game launch time is terrible. Fullscreen requires manual user intervention every launch to actually be applied.
Dread Delusion on Linux using just Proton runs like a native game, no issues, no hurdles.
The game takes a long while to start up but it does it on Windows as well. It can be a dark screen with just changed cursor during that time
The game works perfectly on Linux using GE-Proton. The only thing off about it is the long startup time, but it's not Linux-specific.
The game works flawlessly outside the box with no tinkering or configuration needed at all.
Alt-tabbing is a very basic thing and switching programs is a basic activity. It's very annoying not being able to do it.
Whenever I Alt-Tab the game hangs and never recovers. It also happens whenever I get any kind of notification from the system or other applications. If you change resolution and save the settings game won't launch properly.
Game hangs up with no recovery on any event of losing focus or notifications appearing.
The game launches normally but not being able to alt-tab renders this game a bother to play.
Like other players have commented here, the game crashes when joining or being joined by a friend in the online mode.
The game runs the same as on Windows, i.e. if a player invests in a lot of projectiles of course there are frame drops.
The game runs natively on Linux, you just have to enable the Public Beta build of it in Properties->Betas->public-beta section of the game on Steam.
Just go to the game's Steam Properties -> Betas -> Beta Participation -> Select "public-beta" from the dropdown list. That's all, nothing else needed to make it work completely fine. The game runs natively, just my report is marked as "custom proton" as you cannot choose "native" in the report form here.
