Framedrops and bad frametimes
In the menu too high FPS (up to 3000) can damage the GPU !! Turn on VSync !!!
Apart from the points mentioned above, the game runs stable and well. The problems will probably be fixed with the next patches or proton adjustments. But you can play it without further ado.
VKD3D_CONFIG=no_upload_hvv %command%
VKD3D has massive problems with resizable bar. With ReBar Enabled, there are strong framedrops in the campaign card as well as in the Battles and when opening the hero menu the game crashed sometimes. With the following command base in the Steam start options, the game runs very well and stable at 70 -90 FPS at 1440p Ultra. Vkd3d_config = no_upload_hvv %command % Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_HHx6LnK9wo
runs out of the box (dx11 better than vulkan) 80fps on high setting 1440p (amd fsr ultra)
little black artefacts with vulkan api (reportet to Mesa: seems to be Game problem)

The native version is no longer maintained and unfortunately no longer works. The game runs very well with Proton.

It took a long time, but now it works out-of-the-box :)
Thanks to D8VK. But it is only really good from version GE-Proton9-5
Have fun!
good game - good performance - native
I don't know why everyone plays the game with Proton ... it runs wonderfully as a native version, even if that is not indicated in Steam
good game - good performance
I hereby correct my post below. I had activated "Proton automatically activate" in Steam ... and it didn't notice it. lol
Try to turn the character around in the main menu ... if that doesn't work ... use another proton version ;) Best results (for me) with older proton 4.2-9 and options: RADV_PERFTEST=aco PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1 and gamemoderun (if gamemode is installed) ;) ..have fun!

Native version crashes when you use controller
Proton Version runs out of the box
..I have no problems with 4.2-4 runs great.. "disable esync" feels smoother... and with "gamemode" the performance is even better :)
everything runs perfectly out of the box. ..with "shader pre cashing" its really fast.. :D
use GloriousEggroles proton version 4.11-GE-1 from git... with PoE anti Lag patch. Grafic settings high/ultra 80fps ..perfect
runs great... my config: DXVK_HUD=compiler mesa_glthread=true gamemoderun %command%

The native version runs very well and fast but crossplay doesn't work... STUPID!
The native version is basically useless. With Proton the game runs very well

I have now installed Steam's flat pack version.Since then I no longer have segmentation Fault Crashes. Don't forget to free the Steam Library with Flateal. Also no more crashes to desktop with Proton.Performance with Proton is well but native is better.I have now played with Flatpak version about 2 days. Before that I couldn't play an hour without crash

zwischendurch crashed das Spiel (crash to desktop) und manchmal crashed das ganze System (restart), Egal mit welcher Proton Version (Valve stable, GE oder exp.) und egal ob mit oder ohne gamemoderun.

Since I used the flatpak version, I have no more problems with WH2 and WH3.Game runs stable.

First test with native version.Runs very well.~ 80 fps (resizable bar also brings about 10 fps) on the map and in the battles with a resolution of 1080p with ultra settings.Loading times are considerably shorter.System resources are reduced by 10%.Nice! AMD FSR also works well, but version 1.0 is still a bit blurry Overall, the game runs faster somehow, even though the FPS are similar to Proton. The native version is very good for campaigns. If you want to play multiplayer, you have to stay with Proton. With wine_fullscreen_fsr = 1 % command % you can also use AMD FSR there.
gamemoderun ENABLE_VKBASALT=1 WINE_FULLSCREEN_FSR=1 WINE_FULLSCREEN_FSR_MODE=ultra %command%
Patch 2.4 is going very well. 70FPS in Ultra Settings (with for Ultra UpScaling) on 1440p. VKBasalt brings a lot of sharpness again and does not cost performance. But must be configured. If you are interested, my config:
SMAA: SMAA: CAS Effects = SMAA: DLS Depthcapture = off TogGlekey = F5 Enablleonlaunch = True Cassharpness = -0.5 dlssharpness = 0.8 dlsdenoise = 0.8 fxaaqualitysubpix = 0.75
Native version Runs Better and Smoother But is not multiplayerable. Furthermore, I Cannot load Safegames from the Proton version in native (crash). But its very good for single players. SIG FAULT error has not appeared since version 1.3
Native Version runs great on openSuSE
With Fedora I always had crashes with the native version. With OpenSuse I can finally enjoy the Vulkan version. Stable and with good performance.
