Believe it or not, works on Proton with Battleeye. Follow instructions: https://youtu.be/swJPic2eKGA
Crashes about every 2 hours
Instructions for Multiplayer:
In your Steam library under tools, make sure Proton Experimental is set on the [bleeding edge] beta.
In your Steam library under tools, make sure you install Proton EasyAntiCheat Runtime.
When you launch, you need to disable your ability to connect to:
modules-cdn.eac-prod.on.epicgames.com
This can be accomplished by writing a bash script to blackhole the IP range of your specific server (dig/ping to find the one you connect to) or unplugging your ethernet cable until you reach the main menu. If done correctly, the launcher will be bypassed and the game will launch. You will then be allowed to connect to Elden Ring online services.
i3wm has problems with fullscreen
Crashes every 5-10 minutes
Game is too unstable to enjoy. I managed to prolong time between crashes by capping frame rate, but I never was able to finish the tutorial.
Horrible lag, but definitely playable.
FPS drops to 10 when in hectic fights, appears network is effected too.
Still borked as of Nov. 15th surprise release.
Using Proton 6.20-1 GE
6.20-GE-1 GloriousEggroll
If you aren't well versed in how it runs on windows:
quarter second stutters when witnessing a new texture (like when a new player spawns)
Launching this game on an HDD BLOWS. Please use an SSD unless you plan to take a potty break as you startup the game.
6.21-GE-2 GloriousEggroll
Using Proton-6.21-GE-2:
Some player customizations will slow your frame rate when they join your game.
Works out of the box.
Works flawlessly. No differences compared to playing on Windows.
Runs flawlessly.
Using Proton Experimental.
Has some performance issues with full hands, however, this is also present on Windows.
There's a 50/50 coinflip if I will crash or not entering the game, but once I'm in no issues.
Low FPS when entering atmosphere, not sure if that is a Proton issue.
Game freezes for about .75 seconds when exiting the atmosphere of any planet.
Worked perfectly straight out of the box. Was choppy while loading, however after a minute or so it ran fine.
Worked a few hours ago, now it does not.
Somewhere along the lines of upgrading from kernel 5.15.2 to 5.15.3, something broke. Now crashes due to failing to locate BugSplatRC, which is present in the game files.
Using Proton 6.21-2 GE https://github.com/GloriousEggroll/proton-ge-custom
Game will black screen if you alt tab or if the game loses focus.
Using Steam controller configurations for Xbox controller, the game would stutter while holding any button on the controller. Unable to use custom configs from Steam Big Picture with this issue.

Follow instructions at the bottom of the page to expand FD limit if you are not using systemd, or a version of systemd below 240.
Blackscreen while alt-tabbed, resumes as normal when focus returned.
Multiplayer works perfectly.
This game works exactly as it does on windows. Check the compatibility box and click play!
There used to be a crash when the game window lost focus, that is now gone. Flawless performance in MP and SP.
Using Committee of Zero Steam Patch!
http://sonome.dareno.me/projects/sg0-linux.html
Follow these instructions, but change the APPID from Steins;Gate 0 to Steins;Gate (825630 -> 412830) use Proton Version to 5.0-10.
You can get the patch from here: http://sonome.dareno.me/projects/sghd.html
Main menu is a rainbow, but does not impact functionality.
Crashes too frequently for it to be an enjoyable experience.
Mouse input is inaccurate sometimes, need to switch game in and out of windowed mode to fix.
Crashes approximately 50% of the time when exiting a battle.
Graphics options are not saved across restarts.
Main menu is 15 FPS, however this does not effect gameplay.
I had more desync issues in modded multiplayer than I did on Windows, however it still only happens every 40-50 turns.
