I was using steam link to android phone with backbone controller. When using the default proton, the screen was black. I rolled back to latest stable release that I had and it worked perfectly

just change the proton layer to experimental and it works flawless. I do not use shader precaching but that's not an issue at all.
A buttersmooth experience aside from some minor game glitches and luckily mostly avoidable bugs.
in borderless fullscreen in wayland, other programs tend to freeze and stop rendering properly while the game is open.
if switching between windows, borderless, and fullscreen, the game slows almost to a halt until returned to its original setting or restart.
runs as well as on windows

When in a ship, you aren't able to grab the throttle or stick. Also, the joystick on the right controller is super sensitive.

Game works great with no tinkering.

Played with Proton-Experimental [bleeding-edge] in Default settings, with nvidia DLSS in balanced mode, 1080p windowed fullscreen and 60 FPS (stutterings while landing planets, probably loading some stuff).
Amazing open world survival-craft game. Great!

Maybe due to the game being a native vulkan game but I've noticed way less stutters (almost none) when having shader pre caching enabled.
I know that people like to disable it for dxvk/vkd3d games but in this case it seems to be detrimental to the experience.

Sometimes there are stutters while traveling around a planet, and it stuttered the first time I entered a space station. Traversal stutters also occur when exploring a newly discovered planet. Also slight stuttering while using scanner. They’re not really heavy stutters that make the game unplayable, and they usually become less noticeable the longer you play. Could be shader caching, could be the game engine - hard to say.
Runs very well, but for some reason, ProtonGE made it run at below 10FPS, whereas with experimental it runs at 60FPS

Although Proton GE is slightly better on performance, default proton works fine too

Works perfectly.
Since my recent borked report something has changed so that now the game works perfectly with default Steam proton, no launch options, and Steam overlay enabled. Yay!

no fullscreen
Played with GE-Proton, works perfectly. Performance like native, played at 1440p@120fps no upscaling. Seems to work with Steam default (experimental) too, altough i only quickly checked.

Playable but problematic. Enjoyable if you're a masochist but not for a typical gamer.
Occasionally the entire screen except for the UI is replaced by a black splotch on a white background. The UI is unaffected and relaunching the game fixes it.
Performance degrades the longer the game is open. It starts at 60fps, after an hour it's more like 50, then by two hours it's around 30. Relaunching the game restores it to 60.
Alt-tabbing out of the game and back in reduces the game to about 1fps until you relaunch it.
Occasionally it crashes (sometimes immediately when loading a game, sometimes randomly) and displays the Hello Games crash reporter at a microscopic size. It looks like it's rendering at 0.2x scale instead of 2x for some reason. Only the crash dialog is affected by this.
Sometimes everyone else in the party disappears and the only fix is to quit all the way to desktop (not just leave and rejoin) and start over.

Game will not start.
I tried default Steam, Experimental, GE 9.20, GE 9.25, and GE 9.26. I tried "gamemoderun %command%" in the launch options. I also tried turning off the Steam overlay. When I click Start, after a few seconds something flashes on the screen and then the game exits. I can't even get to the menu.

Run it.
My GPU is an RX7900XTX

Can't see anything in the game
A few seconds into the game, the entire view is replaced by a pure black circle on a pure white background, making it completely unplayable except for the menus.

Works like a charm, OOTB

Very short fps drops during some terrain rendering (revealing terrain by looking from a cliff or entering some planets).
Very minor bug with the sound settings: they may reset if they are changed and applied in the main menu instead of being changed during a game session.

Runs great out the box!
For some reason, there is no audio when starting the game, but this only lasts around 20 seconds, then it returns.

Funciona perfectamente
Instalar y jugar, no he tenido que hacer nada. En mi caso, funciona a 150-160fps jugando en 2K y todos los gráficos en ultra

gamemoderun %command%
Everything works perfectly as if it was running native

After updating to Worlds part 2 the game briefly shows the HelloGames logo and crashes. Delete the files nvngx_dlssg.dll sl.dlss_g.dll sl.pcl.dll vulkan-1.dll from the folder binaries and the game starts and run well

Runs perfectly out of the box.
Started playing after the Worlds Part II update. Mods are working too. Did not test controller support.

Worked out of the box
I've actually had tests with No Man's Sky in Linux Mint, Debian 12, and Fedora. It ran well in Linux Mint with just some slight video lag every now and then. In Debian 12, I was extremely impressed with the performance. Arguably it might have even been a touch better than Fedora. I just had some quirks with the OS and other applications I use that I got tired of trying to resolve. In Fedora it also runs extremely well out of the box. I believe at least for me it is at least equal to how it ran for me in Windows 11, although I feel like it runs better. To be fair, however, I haven't ran NMS in Windows in some time, and I noticed the game loads faster now, so I suspect some performance boosts have been made since the last time I ran it in Windows.

Funciona correctamente
Por ahora no tuve inconvenientes, funciona perfecto y fluido con un excelente rendimiento, hay algunas texturas un poco rotas pero nada grave.

Works very well, but did have issues with certain driver versions
Driver version can cause issues
Game seems to work without any real hassle. I did experince one major issue: a previous version of nvidias drivers cuased space travel to instantly tank to 15 fps and stutter like crazy. I resolved this at the time by reverting to an older graphics driver and waiting for a new itteration which upon testing was free of this error.
TLDR: if you have any issues with stutter it may be driver related, try a different version and see if it helps.

Game works perfectly fine, same with Steam Deck.
Kind of a two-in-one for this. Tested this game about a year or two ago on Deck. Works fine on low. Might get a small freeze when entering space, but it goes away. On a regular PC, it's fine.

Runs beautifully @ ~60FPS/5120x1440.
Bluetooth XBox controller needs to be on and connected before launching the game.
About a month ago loading my main save as resulted in Automatic Fish Traps being invisible/non-interactable. Game still recognizes them as being there.
Lately, when using Photomode, the game is hardfreezing for about 5 seconds. Prior to about a month ago this was never an issue. I've only ever seen this issue when playing through Heroic when it would hardfreeze for up to a minute.
With the exception of an issue with my Automatic Fish Traps, I've had no truly significant issues. The issue with Photomode only seems significant considering this was never an issue prior to a month ago.
Good game
Minium graphics settings. Frame rate starts out well below 20 fps, and it drops sharply over the next couple minutes of play to sub-10 fps.
DRI_PRIME=1 LD_PRELOAD="" %command%

On very rare occasions the game will lock up upon attempting to load the save. Does not lock up the entire PC, only the game.
On some rare occasions, opening the game after booting the PC will cause all menus to be completely white and unreadable/unuseable . Closing the game and opening it again will fix this. I do not know why this happens.
I use Proton Experimental as the default choice for all my games. Issues are rare and obvious before loading a save game. Sometimes after booting the PC up and launching the game for the first time there will be a long loading time and when the game finally loads into the main menu, everything will be white. If you try to load a save the game will lock up. Closing the game and re-opening it will solve this issue. I do not know why; it is possibly related to shader-caching.
