Game wouldn't launch at all until I commented out second line in 3089.sh with # (unset LD_LIBRARY_PATH).
If you have 2 screens, the mouse will keep escaping to second monitor. Trying to launch with gamescope with different options didn't help. The best aproach I found(works on XFCE4, idk about other DEs) is to launch in windowed mode, dock to upper-center part of screen and then move window up again to hide window panel.
Runs really well natively. Game won't launch for some reason if you enable anti-aliasing.
gamemoderun %command% -nosplash
Runs well, were able to play mods. For some reason with Proton-GE audio is more cleaner.
Was able to host and join multiplayer game. The only issue I encountered is that everyone except host will see enemies past 0.5-1km teleport back and fourth, which seems to be issue with game itself.
Without Proton-GE I had missing audio(before launching it threw an error about missing XAudio .dll), but playing with Proton-GE I get slightly worse performance.
DXVK_FRAME_RATE=200 %command%
gamemoderun %command% -noLogs -skipIntro -enableHT -exThreads=7 -hugePages
Uninstalling or reinstalling game also removes all profiles data and campaign progress.
Was able to host and join servers without any trouble at all.
Don't play this with Proton-GE. It greatly reduces performance and makes thermals show everything as black.
Switch compatability to "Steam Linux Runtime 1.0 (scout)". Game used to crash without it.
No issues. Was able to play with mods.
WINEDLLOVERRIDES="winhttp.dll=n,b" mangohud gamemoderun %command%
Runs flawlessly. Use launch options above when playing with mods.
gamemoderun LD_PRELOAD=/usr/lib32/libtcmalloc.so SDL_VIDEODRIVER=x11 MANGOHUD=1 %command% -nojoy -nosteamcontroller -vulkan -console -windowed -noborder
Had no audio OOB.
LD_PRELOAD=/usr/lib32/libtcmalloc.so SDL_VIDEODRIVER=x11 gamemoderun %command% -novid -secure
Install lib32-gperftools from AUR.
PROTON_NO_FSYNC=1 PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1 %command%
Those launch options are mandatory, without them CPU usage will grow exponentionaly over time. Otherwise, runs same if not better than on windows. Proton-GE gave me higher FPS than Proton Experimental.
gamemoderun %command% -RenderProfile_MaxFps 60
gamemoderun %command% -heapsize 1G
Works flawlessly. Had no issues running mods.
Game might crash if maximized game window is moved to second monitor.
Works perfectly OOB except for easily avoidable bug metioned above. Didn't try any custom clients from workshop.
DXVK_FRAME_RATE=60:MANGOHUD=0 %command%
Game will freeze if you keep watching videos instead of skipping them.
Since the last update, you can finally connect to servers without any issues.
Runs as good as it ran on windows.
The only issue I encountered is that you have to wait for a bit for black screen to dissapear before main menu.
If VSync is enabled, mouse can escape to second monitor. If it still escapes try enabling and disabling to fix it. Never had any issues with it after disabling VSync.
Very rarely, but more often on The Parish campaign, all props vanish from map and game instantly crashes seconds later.
WINEDLLOVERRIDES="winhttp.dll=n,b" mangohud gamemoderun %command%
Runs flawlessly. Use lauch options above and grab r2modman from AUR for playing with mods.
Default client runs great without any issues. As for RuneLite, it was straightforward before JagexLauncher: download it, launch, login and done. The only working way I found to run it was using Bolt launcher. It fails to compile from AUR or by hand, so I had to use flatpak(note that if your system didn't use flatpak before, it will install 3GB of some base lib files before you can run Bolt).
DXVK_FRAME_RATE=60 %command%
DXVK_FRAME_RATE=60 %command%
DXVK_FRAME_RATE=60 %command%
Runs great. Since removal of 2K Launcher no need for launch param with LD_PRELOAD.
Runs flawlessly, but you will need to get JSGME and widescreen mod to play it properly.
gamemoderun %command% -skipintro
$ WINEPREFIX=/*path to SteamLibrary*/steamapps/compatdata/244850/pfx winetricks dotnet48
Without installing dotnet48, game world at times starts to slow down while throwing "SCENE TOO COMPLEX" and "PERFORMANCE ISSUES" warning in top right corner. Get's really bad on planets and in Frostbite scenario.
Doesn't run out of box. Without tinkering, game crashes before reaching main menu and has performance issues.
Steps for making SE playable:
- Add
-skipintro
launch option. - Switch to Proton 5.0-10, launch game and then close it.
- Switch to Proton GE. Was able to run in-game scripts and mods only on this Proton version.
- Open terminal and run
WINEPREFIX=/*path to SteamLibrary*/steamapps/compatdata/244850/pfx winetricks dotnet48
.
After those steps, game runs fine. The only issue I encountered is with multiplayer: can host and friends join me just fine, but joining them crashes the game for me.
PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1 PROTON_NO_FSYNC=1 %command% /fullscreen 1360 768
Runs fine, no performance issues.
PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1 PROTON_NO_FSYNC=1 %command% /fullscreen 1360 768
Zero issues. Was able to play with and without FAF(which has native Linux client).
mangohud %command%
Game will freeze when opening inventory on native version. Runs flawlessly with Proton.
Runs flawlessly. Open game folder and create files Supplement*.dlc (replace "*" with numbers from 1 to 11) to unlock DLCs for free.
