Just works.
Absolutely no issues whatsoever

I use the steam input replacement for Xbox Controller, and no problem

A perfect build!
There are no performance differences between the native 32-bit Linux version and the Windows Steam Play version. But you're still gonna have to say goodbye to keyboard cheats.
Runs perfectly through Proton

Windows: Refuses to load with Ultra graphics. Requires external DLL libraries (not guaranteed to load!) and the modification of a registry entry as well as the compatibility file in the game's install folder!
Linux: Fucking works
Now you tell me this isn't a good time.

Bejeweled 3 is playable on Fedora Linux 40 (KDE) with Proton 9.0-2.
Most of the sounds lag slightly.

Touchscreen emulation works fine but since you can also play the game with the arrow keys and use wasd to quickswap I modified the layout to allow me do that.
Either Valve or EA added the community patch into the game, so neither on Linux nor Windows you need to search for it. Works like a charm.
It works very well, as if it were a native linux game.
I simply gave it install and then play, I had to do absolutely nothing to get it to work properly.

The default layout has way too sensitive mouse cursor movement using the right trackpad. Adjust it to lower the sensitivity.
Used 40 FPS limit, it's still smooth enough and uses less battery.
No community patch is needed to enable 3D acceleration effects, works out of the box.

Runs great
I had forgotten how good the music is in this game.

I am able to install the game, run it and it works brilliantly. Considering I own this game on Origin/EA App. Well worth a try it you have it.
Works better than running on Windows
Does not need any popcap patches/fixes. I was able to set resolution to Ultra. Tried all game modes, no errors so far
Runs just as on Windows
Runs perfectly on Ultra settings. Solid 60fps.

Follow this guide to enable 3D Accelaration and higher resolution. Works on Steam Deck and Linux in general.
Reduce sensitivity of touch pad. User preferences.
The Steam guide embedded contains a community patch that will help running this game on newer hardware. While the guide is strictly Windows, I have performed the same steps on my Steam Deck and it works like a charm. If you are a fan of classic PopCap games, this is a must.
Default plays fine, but for cool effects and higher-resolution graphics switch to Proton 3.7-8 to enable 3D acceleration and more options
Set TDP to 6
Playable without HD support
No 3D acceleration support
HD graphic option is not supported on CrOS so that you cannot select HD resolution on playing.
Exiting full screen causes a blank window, and restarting the game does the fix
It runs even better on my Windows laptop where 3D accelarator just does not work and I have to come up with low res, small window and low FPS
popcap-patches for enabling the hardware acceleration and higher resolutions
basically with a very simple Arrow-keys+WASD (move cursor using d-pad, push the gem on the cursor with ABXY) controller layout one can play main game without using the mouse/touchscreen which is real fun and is better on the steam deck especially due to being able to hold it in both hands.
Mouse is still needed for navigation but you have both good accuracy unlike using the trackpad and you halve the weight of the deck per hand.
for the arrow keys I'd also would recommend changing the auto-repeat as you like.
PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command%
3D acceleration would not enable without tinkering
Just using WINED3D, PROTON_NO_D3D10=1, downgrading to Proton 3.7 or 3.16, nor even using dgVoodoo was enough to enable 3D acceleration. The only thing that worked for me was opening the executable with a hex editor and applying the fixes detailed here: https://github.com/cheez3d/popcap-patches/blob/master/popcap-games/bejeweled-3/steam/1.1.12.4196/experimental/fixes.txt
Disabled gyro (as it's incredibly hard to work with in this kind of game)
Fantastic gameplay! Newer versions of Proton will have the game will be locked to 800x600, the standard-resolution textures, Animated Backgrounds will be turned off, and these settings won't be changeable as without some heavy tinkering 3D Acceleration support is broken, this is easily fixable by using Proton 3.7-8 instead which will fix all of the issues right back up for you (easier than the Windows fix, ironically!).
Default community layout (Simple Bejeweled 3 Layout) for some reason opts to leave gyro on. Unless you think you can make it work, I would turn it off as I found it horrible to try and aim with. The best ways to play are either touchscreen (works perfectly!) or trying out D-Pad+Right Trackpad. Aim with your trackpad as the mouse, and then use the D-Pad to swap the jewel with that direction (e.g. mouse over block, Right DPad will swap it to the right).
Generally very recommended, just make sure to use older Proton for a non-4:3 aspect ratio, high-res graphics and enabling animations etc.
Using the suggested community control scheme the game is fully playable, or you can use the touch screen which works great for this game
Enabled Half rate shading, performance and graphics remains the same but with the advantage of longer battery
Using default Deck launch settings the game will not allow hardware acceleration, thus resulting in low resolution and no fancy visual effects, still is playable though. Use Proton 3.7-8, this enables hardware acceleration, high resolution and visual effects on launch with no further configs needed.
Turned gyro off
TDP limit 4W
had to remove full screen to enable older ver of proton to get 3D accel to work
Not big problem but just warning no cloud saves
Just needs to downgrade proton to get proper resolution for 3d Hardware accel
Runs as expected in Fullscreen Mode w/ Ultra Resolution switched on.
Works perfectly, excpet a small issue with windowing
Game has to be restarted if you switch from fullscreen to windowed (and vice versa)

Lowered gyro sensitivity to default 100
With default Proton settings, the game will not allow you to enable 3D Acceleration, which locks the resolution to 800x600 and makes the graphics look quite ugly. Changing the Proton version to 3.16-9 fixes this issue completely, and the game will start up in proper fullscreen with 3D Acceleration already enabled. Recommend setting the resolution to High (1024x768).
Note that the Custom Cursor option doesn't work properly, as the regular system cursor is still rendered (giving the appearance of 2 cursors). Leave it disabled.
Esp: Cambiando de pantalla completa a ventana (o viceversa) pone la pantalla del juego en negro. Necesitas reiniciar. Si haces Alt-Tab, los paneles de Mate no se ocultan. Eng: Changing from fullscreen to windowed (or the other way around) make the screen black. Need to restart. If you Alt-Tab, Mate panels don't hide.
When switching between windowed and fullscreen you need to restart the game.
Window resizing is weird, In Windows the game forces an aspect ratio while you resize it. This does not happen in Linux
Using the Custom Cursor option creates a very delayed cursor.
The game launches, and plays well. 3D Acceleration is even enabled by default (you ironically need to tinker with this on modern Windows).
Aside from the game's windowing issues it works under Linux like a native game. You won't even notice its anything else.
The game works fine with a myriad of input schemes, including Arrow Keys + Space/WASD to swap gems.
Could not enable 3D Acceleration
Disabled Gyro
d-pad plus right touchpad cursor is perfect.
Works for me
PROTON_NO_D3D10=1 %command%
Using the Valve recommended version of Proton works, but I found it to be unstable, with the game eventually becoming unplayable after a few plays until a reinstall (which causes save data loss as the game does not utilize the Steam Cloud).
Using a modern Proton version, such as 7.0-1 or Experimental, works far better and allows usage of DXVK rather than WineD3D, but you need the specified launch option. There is no loss in graphical fidelity, performance, or anything of the sort, as Bejeweled 3 never used DirectX 10 in the first place (the game instead uses DirectX 9), it's just a weird quirk with the game.
GE works with no tweaks, as the launch option is integrated with its implementation of Protonfixes.
Yes. This is the only Proton version where windowing behaves correctly, even GPU acceleration works.
Perfectly playable, even though I can't increase the resolution (a problem that occurred in Windows 10 too)
Using Proton Experimental, the games works perfectly fine on full screen, alt+tab or meta button doesnt crash the game. The only issue is i cannot activate 3D acceleration in the options menu where supposedly makes possible to set a high resolution, but this problem already appears when I playing the game on Windows 10, so...

Plays great, but ONLY with Proton 3.7-8 in my case. Any other leaves the screen blank and no loading.
Only the old version of Proton seems to fire it up
