basically with a very simple Arrow-keys+WASD (move cursor using d-pad, push the gem on the cursor with ABXY) controller layout one can play main game without using the mouse/touchscreen which is real fun and is better on the steam deck especially due to being able to hold it in both hands.

Mouse is still needed for navigation but you have both good accuracy unlike using the trackpad and you halve the weight of the deck per hand.

for the arrow keys I'd also would recommend changing the auto-repeat as you like.
