Game works fine after you change launch parameters and use GE Proton 7-55. Otherwise there're issues

Without the launch parameters there's no audio in cutscenes
If using any other proton version the game had bars on it
After tinkering works fine desu

A good amount of text is small and difficult to read without getting closer to the screen.
The game will play without the listed tweaks, but FMVs and their audio will not play properly, making parts of the story mode inaccessible.

Nada que agregar, ni errores de audio ni nada por el estilo, funciona Excelente

with a simple version like hotfix or experiemental, or just using proton 9-27 u'll see a lot of visual issues. BUT with GE-Proton7-55 it runs excelent

Using GE-Proton8-27 caused audio desync. Better than no audio though
With GE-Proton8-27, I was able to play through the P4 Story mode, but after I started the P4A story mode (and the additional stories) some of the anime cutscenes would only show a black screen. Switching to proton experimental (same launch options) would make these cutscenes playable, but then some which worked on GE-Proton8-27 wouldn't work, so I had to switch about four times during my playthough of the story modes. (~25ish hours)
The singleplayer fighting game parts seemed fully functional. I haven't tested local multiplayer or netplay, I was mainly there for the story. If you're interested in the story, it is playable with some active tinkering.

Cutscene audio is missing, launch option fixes it as well as switching to an older GE version
Cutscenes are missing, switch to GE
Cutscenes are completely borked on main Proton version. Switch to GE. Audio is broken, which reminded me of the same issue with the Persona 5 Strikers port. Use the launch option and an older GE version (I used 7-55, you might try GE-8 if you want.) to get audio working. Audio quality kind of sucks, though older Atlus titles on Steam in general have this issue. There's probably a mod for improved sound quality, but otherwise, the game works flawlessly.

Audio missing without proton launch options. Those specific launch options only seem to work on older version of proton GE. Even with the launch options audio can be out of sync.
Some story cutscenes do not work, they show color TV bars and static. Using Proton GE fixes it.
In order to play through the story mode you will need to use older versions of Proton GE like the one I'm using in order to make cutscenes work and launch options to make the audio in those same story cutscenes work. The intro and some other cutscenes work fine without tinkering, it's seemingly random which specific ones show TV color bars and have no audio. If you just want the gameplay or online, then no tinkering is required.

Some cutscenes (not the intro, an example would be one that plays during Episode P4 in Chie's "The Meeting") will show TV static and color bars upon playing. The only way to fix this is Proton GE
Game runs fantastic, if all you want is the online and arcade modes, then you don't need to tinker at all. If you want to play the story, use Proton GE and all cutscenes will load properly.

I have spent about two hours in the arena mode (1p) of the game and so far have found no visible distinctions compared to it on Windows.
I will continue testing this game and different game modes (such as multiplayer) for the next week.

Seems like any previous audio issues have been resolved. Latest Proton version (9.0-4) runs the game perfectly fine

the games cutscenes, as well as the opening movie when you open the game don't have audio, you can switch to experimental and put a flag and the opening movie works with audio but then the other cutscenes will not have audio and the video will show some test thing

Used remote play together. Other user didn't experience slowdown.
Game will show the test pattern for videos... until the shader cache downloads from Valve. Then all gameplay required cutscenes will play without issue, including sounds. Only the arcade tutorial cutscenes 3 and 4 will keep the 'test pattern'.

Story cutscenes will be completely mute without the launch options and Proton Experimental

No encontré problema. Terminé el juego en arcade sin problema.

It was pretty straightforward to me to run P4AU under steam deck. I just downloaded and started the game. I made a CPU match, changed VA and text language without any issue.

Works perfectly as expected. Game supports Steam Input too.

Ran well. One of the initial cutscrenes wouldn't play, but game skipped this and continued. All over cutscenes have been ok.

Without tweaking launch options and proton experimental, the game would not boot. Crashes back to steam while in the "starting up" screen.

Ends up this port was (likely) made with the same codecs as Persona 5 Strikers, so the same fix can be applied.
Used the launch arguments "GST_PLUGIN_FEATURE_RANK=protonaudioconverterbin:NONE %command%"
Lags a pinch in menus.
If the launch arguments are not used, cutscenes will be audioless.

Some small artifacts were on the screen, nothing game-breaking however.
Cutscenes do not work at all as of the time this was posted, I can imagine that this is prone to change with experimental though.
As of now, Story mode is fucked, cutscenes don't work at all. If you seriously want to play the game just for the combat (which I find to be an amusing prospect) you'd be fine however, I can see this changing in the near future considering the nature of proton experimental...though I HAVE seen people run this on proton 7.0-6...it's just a matter of figuring out what they did differently...expect an updated report when denuvo allows me to run the game again.
Good game. Awful port. I heard it even crashes on Windows 10 and 11 too, so do not get mad at Linux.
Crashes while playing online, often!! Like every 15-20 minutes.
Crashes every 15-20 minutes in online matches.
Proton 7.0.4 have a lot of more crashes online. But offline is ok. 6.3.8 works better for online.
On launch after there are sometimes small artifacts (about 2px*2px) on the top of the screen until entering the main menu. Menu text can be blurry if using anything but Full Window 1280x720 - if changing the display resolution a restart of the game is required for font aliasing to apply correctly.
Some cutscenes work with video and audio but others display a generic no broadcast type video. For example, with Yosuke's campaign, the first cutscene works correctly but the last one does not.
This does not affect the ability to play the game, but may reduce the enjoyment of the single player campaign if you're playing for the story; although the cutscenes tend to be short in length and are non-essential to the plot in my 5 hours with the game so far.
Small lag when selecting arcde mode until character selection screen (I'm running installed to an sd card).
On first launch after install there are small artifacts (about 2px*2px) on top right of screen when viewing the intro video using the default display mode. Fixed by changing to full window 1280x768 and restarting. Text is sharp so long as resolution is not changed; if changing the display mode, a restart of the game is required or fonts look blurry.
Small lag when choosing a character in arcade mode immediately after installation.
Use proton experimental for sound to work in cutscenes. After install, set display resolution to full window 1280x768 and restart the game to enjoy sharper display. Performance is very good running at High settings. No missing video or audio observed with proton experiemental.
Intro audio doesn't play
No audio during cutscenes
No sound on animated intro and cutscenes on the native build. Switching to Proton expermiental fixed the issue.
During videos which play sound is missing on Steam Deck.
Videos are probably not always playing
Sound in cutscenes not working
Audio is missing during opening cutscene and other cutscenes
Small amounts of lag, but may be due to delay based netcode
Without GE-Proton7-10 and later, there were massive graphical errors and significant lag. It runs great offline, with only minor issues online. To note, other games do have missing audio in cutscenes like Persona 5 strikers.
The cutscenes load with ProtonGE however they're audioless.
The multiplayer worked perfectly

All the gameplay and features are available with Proton Experimental or Custom GE with Custom GE having the best experience.
If the game start in fullscreen windowed mode, the window was always too off to the upside of the screen. But going into settings, switching to fullscreen and back to fullscreen windowed mode solved the issue. Also, fullscreen mode have no problems.
In Custom Proton-GE, movies play but without audio. Both experiemental and default proton 7.0-10 cannot play movies including the into movie.
Game is playable on Proton experimental and custom GE, but on Default proton 7.0-10, the screen is flickering and makes experience unplayable in my opinion.
All other features work in all the versions. I only tested online play in proton experimental and it works.
Tested Multiplayer on Proton Experimental Not GE
Everything works except cutscene audio. Playable and enjoyable. Cutscenes in this game are not so long and rich anyway.
Mad Catz TE 2 PS4 Fightstick: Went to Steam Settings-->Controller. Switch to PS3 Mode on controller and the stick was detected. Enable Xbox Controller Support in the menu. In the game controller settings (Steam, not in-game), switch to Use Default Settings and the stick works fine.
The main menu takes about 20 seconds to load after the intro movie. Same thing after the credits roll in arcade mode.
Game runs fine aside from the main menu taking a while to load.
Crashes everytime upon finding an online ranked match with code Unhandled render state D3DRS_MULTISAMPLEANTIALIAS
Shame about the online, but otherwise runs perfect. Cutscenes and all are flawless on GE.
Menu text is pixilated, all other text is very legible.
Audio on cutscenes is missing.
Launching with default proton (7.0-1) lead to flickering of backgrounds which, in my opinion, is unplayable.
NEAREST texture filtering makes textures look pixelated in menu. (Of course not a problem for the artistic pixels of the sprites during combat)
Freeze after watching Yu's first episode from P4A.
Some videos were missing, but played on the next day. Menu flickering (font and TVs) with Proton 7.0-1. One freeze with Proton 6.3-8. Intro video stopped playing after freeze. (Maybe the game has progressed and decided to show a different intro video, but for now it's not running anymore, I expect it to appear soon again however)

Only managed to start it up once, and upon changing a few in-game settings, it broke, even after a reinstall.
Wait until the devs fix stuff, refunded after a day of attempting to fix it to no avail.
No issues so far. Online and offline matches played whithout any problems.
Occasional crashes mid online matches, tho not sure if it's just launch day instability. Otherwise perfect.
No problems caused by proton.

Everything, even videos, ran out of the box with and performed as well as on Windows.
Release date instabilities and crashes are present, but are consistent with reports on Windows.
