Installing media foundation dependencies makes the work. No intro video or videos on story mode, havent test network yet. https://github.com/z0z0z/mf-install
No videos, tested training, online player match, lobbies, challenges and everything is working fine.
Only worked after setting PROTON_USE_WINED3D11=1 %command% in launch options. After that, Arcade, Training and Gougi worked pretty well. Changing Fullscreen and resolution options worked with no problems, PS3 sticks worked like a charm.
Underrated game! Get in when on sale and join the discord. Very nice community and the gameplay is fine.
Windowed mode, the game wont take the whole window. Better start the game in Windowed mode. IF you screen and alt-tab you cant use your mouse anywhere. Better to play on windowed.
The game really uses A LOT of the CPU. While my GPU stands at 40%, the CPU is at 80% and any other application using the CPU will cause framedrops on the game. Some freezes when performing a fireball the first time, but it does not happen again in the match.
No issues playing online, if you find someone to play with. Better join a Discord server to look for matches.
Turn off Steam generic controller support so your joysticks will be detected. Selecting netplay in the game causes a crash. Animations in fight are missing, when you call your partner or you make a super special movement, including Hougeki super special. Those missing animations doesnt affect the gameplay since they happen on the background(Personally I prefer to play the game on proton since those background animations are annoying), so the game can be played perfectly on Arcade, Versus and Training.
Just bought the game to support developers. Community edition is way much better to play online.
No audio on VS screen, nothing that could break the gameplay.
Turn off Steam Input to fix your control not working.
The game has an awful input delay netcode. The community edition works like a charm in Lutris using CCcaster with rollback.
I had to use Proton 7.0.5 because experimental dropped support for my GTX750ti. But I guess the game works fine on Experimental too.
Runs perfect. Versus, Story and training tested. Turn off Steam generic controller support so the game detects your generic controllers out of the box.
Good game. Awful port. I heard it even crashes on Windows 10 and 11 too, so do not get mad at Linux.
Crashes while playing online, often!! Like every 15-20 minutes.
Crashes every 15-20 minutes in online matches.
Proton 7.0.4 have a lot of more crashes online. But offline is ok. 6.3.8 works better for online.
I know I'm under the recommended settings. Still, I wanted to give it a try and I get a DX12 DXGI Adapter not found. Im on GTX 680 now.
I heard people with way newer cards like 1080/3080 had this same issue with RE 4 Demo, updating their drivers to the latest Nvidia release fixed the issue for them. But people with Kepler, 600-700-800-900 are stuck with 470 drivers. Newer cards can update to 500+ drivers. Pretty sure DXGI is something not that important but still sucks we can even try the game at the lowest settings. GTX 680 here with 470 Drivers. Made this report so people with old NVIDIA cards should think twice before trying the demo or buying the game. Good luck. Tried Proton Experimental, 7.0, 8.0, and Glorious Eggroll.
Cool game, I was able to play a Round Robin tournament online with other 8 players online without issues.
Works like out of the box. Played with Xbox 360 stick and generic Dinput controls.
