Any problems with the online are the fault of the game itself, not Proton.
The launch option is only required for the Improvement Mod, and Proton 9 is only required for the fork of the Improvement Mod that has replay database integration, replay takeover, and the online input delay adjuster.

All videos are formatted as WMV and therefore don't play well with Linux, but they're not necessary for gameplay.
No problems in multiplayer, IM and other mods worked flawlessly, and I couldn't tell the different between my Windows 10 desktop and this laptop in terms of input delay.

The launch options are for the BBCF Improvement Mod. If you aren't using that mod, you won't need it.

No tinkering, no issues, looks great too

Rodou com o Proton Experimental sem problemas

Works perfectly
Tried out training mode and online match making. Everything worked perfectly fine out of the box. For Improvement Mod to work, add following line into launch options:
WINEDLLOVERRIDES="dinput8=n,b" %command%
Also download the latest (304) version from discord server, not from github

Game starts up, and loads correctly, but once the unskipable pre-menu opening movie begins it crashes.

From what I've read online it seems to be a problem with the movie codec? The fix keeps getting deleted because of copyright or something? Maybe we can get a option to load dummy movies for that codec with a boot option if we can't get a fix? As it is the game is impossible to play on Proton using Steam.

The Game Runs perfectly, outside of some extremely niche things that most players wont ever touch, i have 0 issues

on Hyprland, if the game is set to fullscreen mode and you move your cursor off the window, theres a chance the game will shrink to an extremely tiny space in the top left of the window, and prevent you from giving input to the game, this is most likely a Hyprland specific issue, and its fixed by switching to borderless window
everything online works perfectly, using the improvement mod requires you to either load it through asi loader, or set the launch options WINEDLLOVERRIDES="dinput8=n,b" %command%, obviously adding in extra things such as gamemoderun or protonhax if needd
some features with cheat engine dont work properly, e.g. auto assemble scripts, most cheat tables, etc., though this is only an issue with mods, and even then, extremely niche mods, so it wont ever be a problem for the average user.
Proton 9.0 + seemed to be unstable when i used it, though i havent checked recently, if you experience any issues i highly recommend to switch to an 8-* version of GE-Proton

With Proton GE 9, Experimental, 9, 8 and 7 the game would crash after the Arc Sys logo. 6.3-8 worked without any issues.

Videos don't play audio
No notable issues with the game's netcode or online
GE 8-25 offers slightly better performance than the default version Steam Uses, which sometimes briefly lags with certain moves, like Azrael's Exceed Accel, but doesn't play audio for videos, which makes the story mode worse.

мультиплеер не играл, стори тоже не пробовал. челлендж работает.
вроде всё норм.

Crackling can happen on the intro screen if using pipewire, this is a documented issue with pipewire, and it seemed to work fine using pulseaudio before i switched
Worked fine on both GE-Proton8-25 aswell as Proton8.0-4, i recently upgraded my gpu from a GTX 1060 6gb and it worked perfectly fine on that aswell, Launch option WINEDLLOVERRIDES="dinput8=n,b" is only neccesary if you use BBCFIM (Blazblue Centralfiction Improvement Mod)

Descarge K-lite.

Turn off antialiasing and texture filtering and set the render resolution to native because it looks the same but uses less power. also, set the lower HUD to its lowest setting to get more screen space
The game will sometimes freeze on menus for 10-20 seconds but this will only happen once every play session.
Some cutscenes don't work but also don't crash the game at all and can be skipped without issue.
Everything besides certain story mode cutscenes works perfectly, the game will sometimes freeze on menus for 10-20 seconds but never in gameplay.
When running fullscreen and tabbing out the game shrinks to the top left corner. Issue does not persist in any other windowing mode.

Borked
Shows "Arc System Works" logo at the start and then crashes instantly. Cannot view the main menu at all. Used Proton 7.0-5 Flatpak community build.
Its a great game. I've already played many hours off of linux, several on, and plan to play many more.
The game reliably crashes if you, the Linux player (not anyone else in netplay) select the character Mai Natsume in the character select screen. This DOES NOT prevent you from training against her as you can start training vs another character and then swap the opponent to her character via the training menu.
Thus, this is essentially an upgrade, as Mai players are cringe.
As long as YOU don't pick Mai, you're fine. If they pick Mai, its ok.
Picking Mai Natsume crashes the game, but only if YOU, the linux user, picks her. You can play online with people who pick her just fine, as long as you don't pick her, or try to pick her in training mode / use her in story mode. This generally means you won't be able to lab against her unless you find some workaround for this or get people to lab with you in networked play, or you have a windows machine to lab against her on.
Did multiple tests. Other player can pick Mai and everything will go fine. Ran even smoother than on my (slightly weaker) windows PC.
Nobody plays Mai anyways lmao, you'll be fine

Alot of versions of Proton crash if you change songs (especially GE)
If the song switching crash happens switch to Experimental
in the stable build audio is a little crackly
only on the stable version of proton it would freeze up for about 20 seconds when changing menus sometimes
in the expiremental build of proton the game runs smoother than the stable build but crashes everytime you select one particualar character mai natsume making the games story unplayable on this build
I imagine the crash must come from a voice line or visual effect cause its only this one character that causes the crash and it happens the instant you select her
Changing songs before match closes the game.
The game's only issue is that it needs an old version of GE to work, I would have loved for it to work as well on Steam Proton. for some reason it crashes on Soundtrack switching. choosing random will flip through them just fine, but you can't pick your favorite one. just go with the version I used to get the full experiance.
I had console-like experience. Everything was perfect. Didn't touch any ingame settings either. 3h of playtime with no issues.
Did a quick test game with a friend using an Xbox controller. Works fine that way, although him looking over my shoulder at the screen was not the best experience overall.
Whatever magic Valve put into Proton is working. This game is solid, audio works at all times, no lag. Decided to mess with it and put it on SD as well, and aside from slower loading times, it is still excellent.
Audio missing from intro / cinematics, audio works fine during gameplay though.
Used GE-Proton7-25 and it was able to launch. Everything else seems to work fine other than the audio for cinematics.
Attempted with 7.0-3, 6.3-8, and Experimental. Tried launching from Desktop Mode for all of these, too.

First time I launched the game it wouldn't take imputs and eventually froze. After launching it again I encountered zero problems in 2~ hours of playtime.
Tried with both Default settings and forced 6.3-8. Worked flawlessly through the story for the hour I tested. No issues in VS mode either.
Out of the box, I get consistent 60 fps at max resolution even on my potato hardware. I can't imagine it running much better on Windows.
Very slight audio crackling during some tracks
The game works great with Proton 6.3-8 out of the box, no tinkering needed. I used that version just because it's the one my Steam client uses as default rather than the newer one. I haven't tried the game on Proton 7.0 yet.
The only issues I had were some very slight audio crackling during some tracks and the animated cutscenes being laggy when played from the gallery (both of which would probably be solved with some tinkering). Other than that, flawless performance both offline and online.

Issues with hitbox-style controllers on Proton 7: the SOCD cleaning causes issues. This is not an issue specifically with the game but is a general Wine issue. See https://github.com/ValveSoftware/Proton/issues/5527 for a workaround.
I didn't seem to have any game instability or issues with online play. People will say that changes, such as mf-install or Proton-GE are necessary for the cutscenes to work properly. This is no longer accurate, as Valve transcodes the videos and ships these transcoded videos out as a part of the Steam shader cache. If the videos are not playing, clearing the shader cache by disabling and re-enabling (Steam -> Settings -> Shader Pre-Caching -> Enable Shader Pre-Caching) will likely help. Note that, depending on the size of your Steam library, this may be quite a large download. I'm not aware of a way to clear the shader cache for a single game while also triggering a refresh.
You can also verify that the transcoded video is in place by checking steam_library/steamapps/shadercache/586140 and verifying that the transcoded content is present (transcoded_video.foz and transcoded_audio.foz).
Proton GE versions after 7.1-GE-2 and all official Proton versions will not display in-game anime cutscenes.
Game won't launch at all
Game simply doesn't launch - I've tried several different versions of Proton, uninstalling and reinstalling, updating and rebooting multiple times, running on steam-native and steam-runtime, but no dice. No error or anything, game simply doesn't start at all.

De-sync in rollback beta. Missing videos.
Had to install faudio.
Missing videos.
De-syncs on rollback public beta.
Runs excellent at max settings. Works with a controller/fightstick too.
Works great including the rollback update. Grind your B&Bs linux user.
Online + rollback worked fine, but after a patch, it started to desync. This doesn't happen on Windows. Hopefully, this will be fixed.
It will sometimes lag during the intro, but that's the only performance problem I've come across.
The game will rarely crash when starting a match in a player room.
