installed 7th heaven

the cutscenes' frame timing (at least for Kingdom Hearts II) is a little off or something because the cutscenes feel choppy, even for 30 FPS. Also, When you put the game in fullscreen, the game doesn't run at full speed, so i have to put it in borderless or fullscreen to make it run at full speed

Used Protontricks to Install Reloaded II for Mods
Performance issue when going in or out of menus, fixed with P3RFix
When the developer console in P3RFix is on, UE will crash and stop you from playing the game, to fix this, go into the P3RFix.ini file and turh the console off
I used P3RFix (https://github.com/Lyall/P3RFix) and a tutorial on GameBanana (https://gamebanana.com/tuts/17167) to install mods with the ASI Loader, meaning that I don't need to add a non-steam game to use mods
if you also need one click install support for Reloaded II, you can use this tutorial and skip to the "Advanced Stuff" section (https://gamebanana.com/tuts/15409)

the games cutscenes, as well as the opening movie when you open the game don't have audio, you can switch to experimental and put a flag and the opening movie works with audio but then the other cutscenes will not have audio and the video will show some test thing

The game without the parameter will not launch (at least in my experience), so doing this is crucial
Previously you needed GE 7-55 to get the cutscenes working but with ge now it works just fine.

used this tutorial to get the game working with the ASI loader in reloaded II https://gamebanana.com/tuts/15712
the game wouldnt initially start in fullscreen, but all you have to do to put it in fullscreen is to maximise the window

used this tutorial to get mods working using the ASI loader https://gamebanana.com/tuts/15409
using mods really isnt necessary to experience the game but i liked experiencing most of the game with mods

the game only loads for me if i set it to proton GE 8, GE 9 and experimental doesnt open the game and the launch options for me are required if i want to get past the opening movie
there was a couple times in the first few minutes when the game stuttered (in the mementos fights for example)
SteamDeck=1 prime-run gamemoderun %command%
the game only crashed when i went into the config settings and booted up space colony ARK act 1 in shadow generations for the first time. Other than that, the game is completely fine

used protontricks to install .NET 7 and the SADX mod loader
mods arent as necessary for this game as they are with SADX but still this port has many issues inherently (what i'm trying to say is that the port runs well on linux, its just that the port itself isn't good)

use Protontricks to install .NET 7 and the SADX mod installer
the game's fmv before the title screen will not display properly until you switch to proton GE, any version will work
if you need a tutorial on how to install the SADX mod installer, heres a good tutorial for both regular linux and a steam deck https://youtu.be/1H8CtsKWK-U?feature=shared

i had the same issue on windows with geforce experience installed. if i set shadows to high, the game bugs out and drops my frame rate to ~30fps when i have the game set to 60, the game is fine on windows without geforce experience installed so it's just weird to me

download the Direct3D 11 mod for this game the game experiences a loooot of slowdown if you don't
Used to install mods with the Sonic Mania Mod Loader
when installing the Sonic Mania Mod Loader, you need to place it in the directory where the sonic mania exe is if you need a tutorial, here is one: https://gamebanana.com/tuts/17002
you can optionally also set the game to open with via a desktop shortcut and set up the URL handler but that is optional and not really necessary for modding the game
the games themselves run really well and even if the menus are a little jarring at first, it's nothing too serious.
PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 SteamDeck=1 prime-run gamemoderun %command%
stuff like the menus lag a little when switching but it is not a big deal or anything
i have to use the steam deck optimisation flag in order to get the game running for some reason with just proton experimental, if i switch to proton GE the game runs fine without it
