Worked fine ootb on this machine.

Crashes, sometimes after seconds, sometimes after hours. Great game, but unstable on my Steam Deck.

Couldn't start the game with the latest Proton, got "Failed to initialize graphics" error. Switched to older Proton (5.13.6), the game started fine and I was able to play it.

Like many others, I had the issue of the game stuck in launch status. On 14 March 2024, the developers changed how Unity assets are loaded at boot. This seems to have fixed the launch issue, as I can now play the game for the first time using only Steam / Proton Experimental. Several hours in, zero issues so far.
Missing the background textures on default Proton -- switch to GE fixes the problem

Upon escaping the application and attempting to return the program would not recive any commands aside from alt-F4 and alt-tab.
The game is playable even with the alt tabbing issue due to an autosave after every action, thw quick load time of the game, and the fact that you can continue games from the main menu from a single button. Due to the fact that the game must be run via a wine command from the terminal achievements and play time are not recorded.

Moved to Flatpak version of Steam.
Mouse cursor has some strange aliasing.
Would not launch through the system package version of Steam. Would just sit at "launching" forever. Switching to the Flatpak version of Steam with no other tinkering fixed it.

I tried proton versions from experimental to 6 and the furthest i got was steam claiming the game was launching.

Crashes are most common on the initial loading screen, but more rarely there will be a crash when a goal is reached or a year is completed (when these happen, progress is not lost).
I tried with the default proton version and while it would work occasionally, crashes during initial loading were much more frequent

Works just as expected!
Minor alpha blending problems around the the mouse cursor
Played a 45 minute session without issue.
Since this is a puzzle-ish game, playing at 40Hz (or lower) doesn't negatively impact gameplay, whilst saving on battery life!
Game features UI Scaling options which help alleviate the small text somewhat.
I imagine an extended session in Endless Mode might affect performance though I have not tested this myself. The game runs great and is a joy to play on Steam Deck with the default controls working very well.
Crashes my whole system to a forced reboot. Seems to involve cutscenes or movies.
Turned on battery mode in settings
works perfectly
works without any alterations
Some text is small/pixilated due to the resolution
Pixilated artifacts around cursor and loading icons
Big lurches in framerate when zooming into planets
Worked flawlessly, and the tutorials were displaying correctly
Does not work with proton 6.3.8 or experimental. Games crashes at start.
Flawless, like native.
The developer even acknowledged players using Proton on the official Discord and has patched a Proton-specific problem with video codecs in the past.

No issues with Proton Experimental
Proton-6.10-GE-1 GloriousEggroll
Cursor doesn't stay on the screen on fullscreen
Tutorial videos don't work
Runs great but tutorial videos don't play which makes it challenging to understand the game
