Plays great right out of the box. I recommend skipping the launcher but it's not required anymore.
About ~20 FPS in the benchmark, could not even keep up 75 FPS in the menu. Changing the details did not affect the performace, so I think there is some other problem.
Game still does not run. Steam reports it as "Running" without it ever showing up, then the game just silently crashes.
D9VK massively improves performance
Replaced the .exe as mentioned in other reports
Shadows do not render
Previous versions of Proton had problems with missing sprites. I did not test that with the current version but I tried using D9VK just to be sure.
A waterfall was cut-off at the top - don't remember it being like that on Windows.
Flawless, like native.
The developer even acknowledged players using Proton on the official Discord and has patched a Proton-specific problem with video codecs in the past.
Just works out of the box. Gamepad recommended.
The FPS sometimes dips from capped 60 to about 40 - still very much playable, only a minor annoyance. Not sure if that's caused by Proton or just the PC port (as I heard it's not perfect)
The game runs overall very well on Proton, much better than the official eON wrapper.
Game sometimes crashes when Alt+tabbing
Game does not like having too many saves and crashes when a threshold is hit. I recommend deleting old ones regularly. This is the case on Windows too.
Saves from the first game need to be copied over manually across prefixes. See the games' wiki to see up-to-date information.
The game runs perfectly under Proton.

The game mostly works as intended apart from minor issues with alt+tabbing and its own bugs that appear on Windows too.
Sometimes mouse clicks would not register properly after alt+tabbing from the game. Cycling through windows back to the game usually fixes it.
The game sometimes crashes due to having too many saves (happens on Windows too afaik). Alt+tabbing also sometimes causes a crash.
