Worked better than the native version on my end (had the sound on), with no noticeable performance degratation in-game.
The audio did not work in the native version (no sound at all during the game and the cutscenes), but works flawlessly in the proton version.
The game tries to re-claim fullscreen when I switched workspace, although it only does this once before giving up. Turning off fullscreen made it behave better.
The game is running at almost 80% of my GPU's power, so switching between applications or scrolling on discord is enough to slow my entire computer down. The game by itself and streamed on discord runs fine, though.
Added for_window [class="CrossCode"] fullscreen enable
in .config/i3/config
to force the game to be on fullscreen at startup
When going into fullscreen, the game would only show graphics where the initial window was. Went around the issue by forcing i3wm to make the game fullscreen on startup (for_window [class="CrossCode"] fullscreen enable
)
When in full screen, the cursor stays locked in the game even when switching workspaces. Setting it to Borderless fixes it.
The high quality terrain setting seems to make the game have a hard time, setting it to medium fixed it.
Works well after a trip to the game's settings. You'll have to set the windowing mode to Borderless on i3
The game (as of right now) should run well with a good graphics card
GPU is used at 100% at 1080p; I only got 30fps and hiccups whenever I separated parts.
Works flawlessly, out of the box
The game's resolution has to be chosen from a list of available resolutions, but there is a good panel of resolutions to choose from. It doesn't look like I can resize it on the fly when it's windowed.
Sensitivity is through the roof, for some odd reason.
VSync felt stuttery, but setting the game to forced 75Hz made it play much better.
Game wouldn't start without switching to proton experimental (it would silently crash instead). Once that was done, it was buttery smooth.
