Uplay launcher is old and buggy. Requires on-screen keyboard, sometimes touch screen.
Had to use touchscreen to manually select controller in the game's menu. Otherwise, controller did not function.
This is one of those games that you'll have to spend so much time getting it to work for the first time that you'll not feel like playing anymore by the time it works. Between the Uplay Launcher being awful, controller not automatically working, etc, you'll quickly lose your motivation for playing this. Might be better/easier to emulate the PS3 or 360 version.
Dock your Deck and dominate those enemies. It works great on Deck; it deserves its verified status.
Note that you can play STORY MODE ONLY on Deck, which is a shame since BattleEye is doing nothing to make GTA online any better.
Dialed back clock speed and wattage limit slightly.
Social Club menu requires mouse or touch screen for first use only.
When touching controller configuration for any reason, then switching back to the game, the game would freeze and need to be restarted.
Details in "controller" section.
Story mode works great, as long as you don't mess with controller settings mid-game.
Fantastic experience with my Deck docked, playing on the couch. However, my controller mapping would work fine while handheld also.
Changed D-pad to behave as arrow keys, mapped A button to spacebar, mapped B button to Esc, mapped X to Shift. (NOTE: none of these changes are entirely necessary, as it's playable with just mouse controls mapped to a joystick.)
Experienced minor slowdown after playing the game for multiple hours straight. Slowdown disappears after restarting the game.
If the default control scheme was modified to match my mappings above, and the controls were shown as such on screen, this game could be Verified.
I submitted my report as a "no tinkering" report, as any tinkering I have done to try to get this game to launch has been unhelpful. I can't get this game to play no matter what I do. I get the background music, but no video. I've tried using different versions of Proton, I've tried some fixes found on Reddit such as un-commenting the Japanese language in locale.gen, etc. None of which worked, so I reverted my changes.
Touchscreen and on-screen keyboard was needed to login to Microsoft.
As previously mentioned, the on-screen keyboard was needed to login to Microsoft.
Only issue is needing to login to Microsoft with the on-screen keyboard, touch screen perhaps, etc. Once that is done, the game is playable from then on.
A perfect game to begin with, and just as good as ever on Deck. No issues, no tinkering, just play.
Changed my control settings to anything and everything. Controller simply doesn't work, therefor playing on Steam Deck doesn't work. Non-functioning. Somehow, my experiences aren't the same as everyone else's, but they persist even after re-installing, using different controllers, etc.
Dock your deck, sit on the couch, and play for hours on end. No issues; one of the best native games to play on Deck.
Plays perfectly.
Plays perfectly.
One of the best ways to play Jackbox is to dock your Deck. No issues ever.
Mapped controller to match the keyboard layout that RPG Maker games use: mapped D-pad for arrow keys, mapped A button to spacebar, mapped B button to Esc, mapped X button to Shift. In addition, there's a scene in this game which uses W & D additionally, so I mapped those to R1 and R2.
