Some areas can tank your FPS depending on your GPU
Runs the main menu, crashes on new game/display options
Tried multiple versions of Proton including 6.16-GE-1.
-novid -high -freq 144
Matchmaking takes a while due to dead playerbase
I'm only dropping this review be4 I'm refunding this garbage.
Can't play online without getting disconnected.
During online I kept disconnecting.
Online gameplay keeps disconnecting
6.16-GE-1 GloriousEggroll
Previous report wasn't filled in correctly. I've used 6.16-GE-1 through Steam.
Crackling when CPU bugs out
CPU bugs out randomly even in performance mode. This causes temporary low fps and ends my Easy Effects (audio equalizer) process.
Online works fine, I can even connect and play with my VPN active.
We'll see how this anti-cheat debacle works out only time will tell.
Proton-6.21-GE-2 GloriousEggroll
Weird glowing/blinking light inside chacacters
In same areas my FPS would swing from a powerpoint slideshow to 60+ multiple times.
Framerate just swings wild in same areas for no reason...?
Installed and launched trough Lutris. Runs great, alt+tabbing works fine.
Recommended!
6.16-GE-1 GloriousEggroll
Might want to adjust some key bindings/display settings, other than that no problems so far.
6.16-GE-1 GloriousEggroll
When alt+tab out the game engine sometimes freezes and crashes.
When trying to alt+tab back I have to go to options and enable full screen manually again.
When going to/leaving the options/inventory menu, the game lags/freezes up for a split second.
Starts running normal again after the short 'hickup'.
I can not confirm if this is a hardware issue or not.
Crackling mostly occured at start of intro movies when starting the game.
Can't Alt+Tab out of the game and back, forced to stop the game through Steam
Make sure you have the right AMD packages for your GPU
EAC garbage
all linux g*mers are cheaters i guess?
Going out of the game with Alt-Tab for too long will make it imposible to jump back in and force you to stop through Steam launcher. A quick out-and-in seems to cause no problems.
Only minor bugs i've had are bound to the engine such as NPCs falling through the world mesh.
The input delay does not make this enjoyable to play, for the rest everything runs fine including cut scenes and movies.
This game would be enjoyable on Proton if it wasn't for the FPS that gets tanked every time I walk into a new area.
6.16-GE-1 GloriousEggroll
Alt-tabbing out the game makes it impossible to alt-tab back in, forced to stop the game through Steam or kill the process.
Engine audio is not found by PulseEffects when alt-tabbed out of the game.
Starting a level and when moving to new areas my framerates tank to a powerpoint slideshow. Pre-caching shaders doesn't help, according to other Proton users this is a Void engine problem.
Game runs great, played through the story on 6.14-GE-2 and tested the first mission on 6.16-GE-1.
6.16-GE-1 GloriousEggroll
6.19-GE-2 GloriousEggroll
Game crashed during level/chapter transition like 2 or 3 times. Restarting game fixed it.
This game is now broken
This game used to run fine after the EAC folder fix, now it freezes after the Gears 5 splash screen.
Doesn't run on the RT-kernel, Zen-kernel has been used for this game.
I cheezed the bossfights to beat this game lmao
Launched with EAC disabled, Halo CE/2/3 single player have been tested. Only Halo 2 would drop frames when loading new parts of the map.
Proton-7.0rc6-GE-1 GloriousEggroll
Game runs out of the box with the current version of Proton Experimental. Not a good game tho'.
Mouse sensitivity is super weird
fish bowl becomes a black hole or something, no bueno
black artifacts on fish bowl and random frame drops
Too much risk of crashes when loading new chapter, no controller support, in game movies don't show.
6.16-GE-1 GloriousEggroll
Switching input from mouse & keyboard to controller soft locks all inputs in the game as the controller's input is not used. Even after remapping to keyboard inputs the controller does not work.
Removing the controller (USB) resets the inputs to mouse & keyboard.
Game crashed when loading new chapters a few times. I had to switch between various versions of Proton continue playing. Proton 6.3-6 and Proton 4.2-9 did the trick.
some in game movies and cut scenes did not play properly, either black window or 'test' screen.
Works great 'out of the box' on Linux Mint 20 and Steam with Proton. I'm using litrus but the regular steam launcer works fine as well.
Can not acces my in-game items in invetory.
Only downside is the lack of being able to alt+tab to a different program.
Proton-7.0rc3-GE-1 GloriousEggroll
During one mission world textures would not load in high resolution when driving around. Restarting the game would fix this.
Short but sweet Resident Evil/Silent Hill type of game
when CPU was set on anything other than performance there would be a lot of crackling. on performance mode there's only a wee bit of crackling at the intro splash screen.
set your CPU to performance when encountering audio crackling.
Crashed about 2 or 3 times during playthrough, most likely overheating GPU/CPU due to extreme summer temperatures. After upping case fans RPM it never crashed again.
Can't wait for Red Dead Remake dropping this holiday season.
This game relies on video backgrounds, when half of them are corrupted and some turn into a video test screen it's not really playable
'Corrupted' videos used as background, missing videos used as backgrounds (test screen)
Might work using wine/proton tricks
Sometimes audio would go out of sync during cut-scenes
both Jill's & Rico's ass are fine
It boots and runs but not well
Various graphical artifacts, mostly on text.
even with settings lower than recommended my frames tank to a powerpoint slideshow
When exiting the game it doesn't close down, I have to manually stop the game through Steam.
This report is based on the Chainsaw Demo
I'm sure DLC will run fine as well
As with any modern RE engine game it's very scalable and stable, controller support OOB. Never crashed and can alt+tab out no problems.
Runs out of the box as long as you don't bump up the graphics settings too high, this caused video issues at the main menu.
This game runs on XRAY engine which is known to be quite unstable, if the game crashes it's most likely the XRAY not Proton.
Slight crackling during intro movies
Make sure to install the legacy version, it's under game's properties > betas > sriv_legacy.
Make sure to install the legacy version, it skips epic games online services/not starting.
Hosts were Windows OS users
Game is in early acces
Finished the first two games, the third one runs fine as well.
Common unoptimized/buggy Bethesda game release, it wouldn't be a Bethesda game without the controversy.
Unoptimized Bethesda game and jenky launch drivers for the RX7800 XT.
Average frames per second:
- New Atlantis 50-60
- Average planet 60-80
- Spaceship fights 60-90
- Inside space stations (dungeon) 90+
Building shaders while loading new parts of the level/map in DX11
DX12 mode runs 40fps average no matter what setting, I switched to DX11 mode for my playthrough
Game runs 40fps average in DX12 no matter what settings. DX11 mode runs great aside from building shaders/loading new parts of the map, that's where the fps tanks for a second or two.
6.16-GE-1 GloriousEggroll
Game crashes when loading sector 31 (chapter 4) around the 70% mark.
Running this level in Proton 5.0-10 fixed the problem.
Crackling audio at startup/splash screen.
